Historical residence placed on the Florence roofs.
Flat gives onto the Central Market, 100 meters far from Piazza del Duomo and the S.M.Novella Central Train Station.
Flat is laid out on various rooms: room with loft, bedroom, dining room, kitchenette and large bathroom. Two dobble beds are respectively in the bedroom and in the loft, and a single one is in the room below. Any room has fan. There is a stereo hifi in the bedroom. Rooms are cosy with views on the market and on the Florence roofs.
The area is the slightly bohemian area of the Mercato di San Lorenzo, Florence`s most ancient and important covered food market. It is a great location, placed on the center city, close to the Museums and full of restaurants, bar, pubs and nightclubs.
There is a covered 24h paid parking garage in Piazza del Mercato Centrale itself, directly facing the main entrance to the apartment.
The place might not be for you if you need brand new and fresh, and the stairs might be hard on an elderly person, but the location is fantastic just a few blocks from the train station (where most day trips originate form), just a few blocks from the Duomo, and next door to the amazing central market and Zsa Zsa restaurant. Slept four no problem.
the apartment is wonderfully located and as previous reviewers have said, the stairwell is a real workout..! It IS a quirky place, the kitchen is very limited ...and the beds are hard...the loft one too narrow for 2 adults of reasonable size to fit comfortably. The wifi is VERY sporadic so for those relying on it, ensure you have a backup first. I personally loved the place for all that, really enjoyed the ambience of the nearby food market and liked Laura's objects d'art that gave the place personality. I had noted a previous reviewer thought the place dirty....it is not new, and some fittings are worn and cracked but it is clean and the bathroom was fine for our purposes (there were 4 adults in our group). If you are wanting a fully equipped sterile place, this is not for you. But hey, for the price Laura charges, I think it is pretty darn good and we will remember our Florence visit all the more for having stayed there.
A very responsive and serious houselord. Strategically good location close to the central market with the best quality Italian gastronomy available. A less than 10 minutes walk to the Basilica Santa Maria del Fiore. Many towels and blankets available. A clean and a really historically living environment inside. Though, there were some difficulties in the wi-fi activating from a smartphone.
This historic flat could be called old and quirky....but it was perfectly adequate. It is in a great location central to the train station and most tourist attractions.
Laura is absolutely lovely.
The free WIFI worked fine - for anyone struggling to get a signal we found the best spot is had by sitting your phone on top of the radiator in the front window :)
The intercom has something wrong where we could hear Laura but she couldn't hear us - this was only a problem if someone was buzzing you from downstairs but you could see the front door from the front window so not a major issue.
Well it was ok... Great location. In the Fall it would be nice. Good workout on the stairs.
The location is great and very central (next to Medici Chapel). Everything else for this property was inconvenient and not reflective of the pictures/details mentioned in the listing. The house is VERY run down, creaky, beds are uncomfortable, kitchen is almost non-existent, bathroom is barely put together, WiFi doesn't work, parking is extra cost (we paid Euro 25 per day of parking). Definitely not the experience shown in the pictures. Wouldn't recommend it at all!
Maria-Laura couldn't be there and it's her very nice friend who welcome us : we discover the flat which was perfectly clean and is very big. The neighbourhood is great to discover Florence as you do eveything by foot. Good experience;
The apartment is very good located - just few minutes from the railway station and also from cathedral. At the square where apartment is there lot of good cafes with tasty food.
The apartment is very specious but little bit dark.
It's perfect place if you want to live in city centre and to
Feel atmosphere of Florence
We very much appreciated this flat in the heart of Florence! It had soul to it and the location was great.
