The Space

A comfortable convenient house close to the heart of Dublin. It is a petite cottage set within an old Barracks and boasts two museums in the complex.

A 15 minute walk to the city centre (Grafton Street/Temple Bar) and the host of pubs, restaurants and sights on offer. Also a 15 minute walk to the sea where you can take a nice long walk or bike ride beside the beach.

The house is in the centre of the leafy suburb of Dublin 4/Grand Canal area, which has great transport links and is a much sought after area. It is beside the Aviva Stadium so is ideal for sporting events like Rugby and Football. It is also convenient for the Grand Canal Theatre if you intend to see a show. 20 min walk from the O2 if you are going to see a concert.

If it is a business trip, we are beside (website hidden), (website hidden) and Accenture. The convention centre is a short taxi drive away or a 21min walk. Very convenient for all offices in the centre of Dublin.

Free high speed WIFI is available as well as Cable TV. There is guest parking in the complex or paid parking outside the complex if none of the spots are free.

It is a warm lived in house, which we hope you will make yourselves at home in.

Guest Access

Access to all areas of the house except for our bedroom.

Interaction with Guests

As little or as much as the guest wishes. We live in the house, so if you use the sitting room, chances are we will get to know each other :-)

The Neighborhood

Dublin 4 is one of the most sought after areas to live in. It is famed for it's leafy suburbs, proximity to both the sea and the city. There are many wonderful bars and restaurants on your doorstep, which means you won't have to travel too far to sample or culinary delights.

Getting around

4 Minutes from the Dart (Train) station. 2 Minutes walk from a road with many bus routes on it. You can also easily flag a taxi outside. However, we find we walk or cycle everywhere as we are so close to the city. You can also catch the Aircoach for €16 return from Dublin Airport to the School House Hotel which is 5 minutes walk from our door.

  • I have only words of gratitude. Emma and Ronan are a fantastic hosts. The time I was in their house I felt like in my own home. They helped me a lot in my early days in Dublin. The house is very cozy and the area is perfect for visiting Dublin. If you plan to come spend a few days in Dublin, this is your best option undoubtedly.

  • In March 2014 I was in Dublin. The city was as beautiful as the apartment. I'd like to come back again! Everybody who wants to come here will have a very, very good time. Emma and Ronan ware really friendly and I hope they will come to Hamburg, too.

  • I had a great experience staying with Emma and Ronan while visiting Dublin to attend the web summit. They are really amazing. Emma welcomed me with a warm cup of coffee just when I needed it. She gave me a local mobile phone to use for free. We also had great conversations.

I lost my jacket while I was there and it had the key for the house. Emma was so nice and did not even mention anything about the key but instead felt bad for me loosing my jacket.

The room was nice. Bed was comfortable. It had everything you would need for a few days stay.

  • Emma and Ronan were the perfect hosts to make me feel, comfortable and welcome, at the beginning of my adventure in Dublin! They are such as nice, pleasant and helpful persons. I can say that I really felt at home with them, and I immediately felt that I can get along with them for a long time. At the moment we are also neighbours. So thanks a lot guys, you are great host and all these good reviews prove that!

  • Emma and Ronan were really fantastic hosts. They made me feel very welcome in their home, offering transport advice, friendly banter, and general warmth. I had everything I needed and was comfortable. If I were to return to Dublin, I'd definitely stay with them again – and hopefully go on a wee pub crawl together, too!

A tip: make sure you ask about the key trick!

  • Emma and Ronan were the first people we met in our move to Dublin, and we could not have asked for a better introduction to the city. They are genuinely great people, and so helpful with everything... it felt like we were staying with close friends! Airbnb exists so you can meet people like them. Additionally, their home is beautiful, comfortable and in an ideal location (quiet and safe, but still walking distance from the city centre). You won't find anything half as nice in this area for the same value. We highly recommend staying with them. Thanks for everything!

  • Emma and Ronans airbnb is most probably the best place for travellers who have never been in Dublin before. Great tips for Food, Shopping, Sightseeing.. and (now) they're also experienced in motivating depressed apartment-hunters! Thanks for a wonderful stay and the feeling of "coming home" in the evenings ;-)

  • I came to Dublin with my girlfriend for couple of days. Emma and Ronan are the Irisch you definitely want to meet! So friendly and helpfull. They gave us very good tips what to do/try, which we tried and liked a lot. Their house is located in beautiful and attractive area (despite the name Beggar's bush :-) which is based on historical roots) between the downtown and seashore. E.g. (website hidden) and (website hidden) has offices nearby. Spar supermarket and traditional irish pubs are just behind the corner. The room is nice, cozy and clean, as well as the whole house. We had everything we needed. From Beggar's Bush it's less than 20 minutes walking to the Temple Bar district. GO FOR IT!

  • What a pleasure to stay at Emma's and her boyfriend!
The welcome is friendly and relaxed, and the apartment ideally located in Dublin, in a quiet and trendy area, 10 minutes by bus from the city center.

  • First of all, I have to start this review by saying Emma and Ronan are some of the best people I've met traveling. Not only did they kindly welcome me into their home, but they also did the best they could to make my trip to Dublin a great one. I'm happy to say this AirBnB experience left me with two good friends who I hope to see again in Dublin.

The apartment itself is well kept, the room is very comfortable, and the location is fantastic. Easy walk into the city center is a straight shot (the roads bordering Emma and Ronan's apartment take you straight to Temple Bar, Trinity College, etc.) I had no need to take public transportation into the city center at all. Emma and Ronan also live very close to the DART train, which takes you to nearby gorgeous coastal areas outside of the tourist bubble for some amazing (and fast) day getaways. Best yet, there are 24 hour shops and some great pubs nearby that are full of locals (not tourists!)

All in all, I'd stay with Emma and Ronan again in a heartbeat!
