Designed by a Bali-based architect, this two-bedroom villa offers a quiet garden retreat from nearby Seminyak. The villa overlooks a peaceful family temple with a hundreds-year old towering tree that has been blessed in Balinese Hindu tradition.
The living area has a television with cable TV, and is surrounded by sunken Koi ponds on two sides. The views from all sides is surrounded by tropical gardens.
This two-bedroom villa was designed and built by a local architect. The open living and dining room are surrounded by sunken Koi ponds and lush gardens. The upstairs bedroom with private bathroom has a wrap-around balcony that overlooks a stunning garden and hundreds-year old tree. The tree has been blessed according to Balinese Hindu tradition, and is the site of a peaceful family temple. The second bedroom, also with its own bathroom and outdoor shower, looks out onto a private garden area.
An open kitchen and dining area is located on the ground-floor and is equipped with plates, flatware, glasses and basic cooking equipment.
A separate air-conditioned office space is located on the second floor, separate from the bedroom. The office, overlooks the neighboring rice fields, is perfect for guests who need to work from home.
Gusts have access to a larger garden area, which includes a infinity-edge swimming pool underneath the temple tree. The pool is shared with the owners' house which is located on the same property. Even though the garden area is shared, the house is fully private and has a separate front entrance. Two friendly dogs live in the shared garden, but do not enter the house (unless invited).
Interaction with Guests
We welcome questions and interaction with guests to the villa. At the same time, a villa manager will meet guests upon arrival and check in with the guests on a weekly basis. He will be available to answer your questions and assist you as he can (arranging for renting a car and driver, touring recommendations, etc.). He will also be happy to organize for expert masseurs to come to the villa, which is furnished with a massage table that can be placed by the pool or in the semi-outdoor living area.
The house is located in a local neighborhood, which is perfect for expatriates looking for a residence, or visitors who want to experience life outside of the tourist areas in Bali. Guests will enjoy the quiet space, but are not far from the attractions of life in Seminyak. The best restaurants in Seminyak - such as Metis and Sardines - are approximately 10 minutes by car from the house. The closest beach, Batu Belig, is less than 15 minutes by car or scooter.
If guests would like to arrange for renting scooters, motorbikes or cars, please contact the villa manager who can assist in making the arrangements. For rented scooters and motorbikes, parking space is available.
Guests can also call for taxi service. We recommend the taxi company BlueBird, which has excellent service standards and complaint & tracking system. Their call center number is (phone number hidden).
Had an amazing stay at Edgar's Tree Temple Villa. The place is as beautiful as it is in the pictures. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere that was exactly what we were looking for. Edgar arranged a pickup for us directly from the airport (very late at night), which was incredibly helpful. We stayed for one month, and would love to come back in the future. Definitely worth checking this place, far enough away from the hustle of Seminyak, but close enough that you can catch a cab and be in the center of town within 5 minutes.
The best villa we've ever stayed, unique and stylish. Edgar and Alec were super helpful and their hospitality was above any expectation. Thank you for the amazing stay!
I simply cannot rave enough about the hospitality I was shown in the month I stayed at Edgar's place in Bali. I fell in love with the pictures on the site of the designer house in Krobokan, but it was booked for part of the time I was there, so Edgar did some juggling and was able to put me in Tree Temple for the first two weeks. The pictures don't even do it justice! It is a serene paradise just far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough if you crave night-life. You always have a restful place to come back to. Edgar's response time is immaculate, and he is diligent in caring for every need-Achie, the house manager was there to pick us up from the airport at a very late hour, and assisted in food delivery, and motorbike needs promptly. He even brought over a home cooked meal our first day there! Mas Kiman, the housekeeper, with her warm smile and impromptu mini-massages is a blessing from the heavens. Without even being asked, she helped me move into the second villa. Edgar dropped off morning pastries each Saturday...he and his staff have an amazing gift of understanding if you desire "alone" time or wish to interact. My first time in Bali and wanting the latter, I was invited to a poolside dinner and treated like family.
Each place has modern and stylish décor, consistent hot water and reliable high speed internet. The kitchens are fully equipped if you choose to cook, but the location is in close proximity to plenty of yummy places for traditional Balinese cuisine. Laundry service is quick and affordable and easily arranged by Achie. In-house massage is also available.
The detail and lushness of the grounds is literally breath-taking, from the gorgeous, giant tree that affords Tree Temple it's name to the fountains that flow over the fish ponds at your feet.
In my experience, it isn't often that a vacation actually exceeds your expectations. I can honestly say that is what I experienced with the time I spent in Edgar's villas. My sincere thanks to Edgar, Alec and the staff who I consider family now. WHEN I return to Bali, I wouldn't even consider staying elsewhere.
This was our first time staying at Kerobokan and this was in a good location for us,
We had a car so were able to get around, but its not far from anywhere.
The villa was beautiful, the gardens, pool, the fish pond, the sound of the water in the stream running down from the rice paddies and around the back of the villa.
It was great to be able to open up the glass doors in the main lounge area and look out at the garden, get some some breeze.
We stayed with our two children, three and five, and there was plenty of room for the four of us.
We did have a few minor electrical issues but thats pretty common in bali.
Definitely recommend this Villa.
We had really great time in the villa. It is clean, stylish, very quiet. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
There is a daily cleaning service; Mas Kiman, who took care of the house keeping, has been also very nice and helpful with us.
The location is convenient, near some rice fields and away from the crowd of Seminyak, but not far from it neither which we enjoyed to go to the beach, or shopping.
We definitely can recommend it!

I have been living in Indonesia since 2006, working part of my time in Jakarta and living in Bali part-time. There are many reasons for why I stay in this country and Bali is one of the main reasons. I love the views, the beach, the food - and am happy to share my advice and recommendations with guests staying at the villa.
