SUMMER IS BOOKING UP FAST
This Aussie Beach House is the perfect getaway from Melbourne at only 70 mins drive from the city. The house is secluded on a huge half acre block of trees and nature, and is a short walk from St Andrew's Beach on the Mornington Peninsula.
The house sleeps 7 at capacity. Upstairs there is one double bedroom, a bunk room sleeping three and a bathroom. There is also a separate ground floor suite with double bedroom and ensuite/laundry.
A viewing deck on the hill is the perfect place to unwind with a wine, and the kids have the cubby house with sandpit to keep them entertained. Even the puppies will love this house - provided with a matching dog house to the main house and with a box of toys.
Mornington Peninsula attractions within 15mins drive are Gunnamatta Surf Beach (as seen in the movie Point Break!) St Andrew's Golf Course, Moonah Links Golf Course, Peninsula Hot Springs, Red Hill Wine Region, Port Phillip Bay Beaches (quieter, calmer beach ideal for kids) as well as adjacent towns of Portsea and Sorrento.
The St Andrews Beach township has a general store, Rye back beach strip shops within 5mins has a bottle shop, a surf shop and pizza/takeway food.
The house is neat, tidy and comfortable, with heating, ceiling fans and an outdoor shower. Plenty of mod cons too, with wall mounted flat screen TVs and hard drives with lots of movies to choose from.
What makes the house unique is the privacy, its leafy outlooks and the proximity to the beach, while still being only a short drive from marvellous Melbourne. The sound of the waves crashing on the sand 500m away and the salty sea breeze is pretty nice too :)
Please bring your own linen (doona covers, sheets, pillow cases and towels). If you are not able to, we can source linen for you but there is an additional cost of $50 per head.

The little deckhouse is for couples, families and singles looking to get away. We live in a quiet neighbourhood and do not allow parties at the property. Pets most welcome but any damage done must be paid for. Also, all pet mess must be cleaned up and puppies are not allowed in the bedrooms. :)
Perfect house for our mini family getaway! Our border collie loved it and didn't want to leave! Highly recommended
Great! The house was as expected. Lots of space and really airy. Clean and well presented. The deck house "manual" was comprehensive and very helpful:)
House was great, very quiet location but close enough to access supermarkets etc in Rye. Beach was further than we thought but still walking distance. We had a lovely time there; the kitchen in particular is really well done.
Very peaceful location for a relaxing weekend getaway with my family. Thanks for the cot for my young niece too!
Such a fantastic house! Well maintained lawn with the best sandpit and playhouse plus plenty of space for chasey and the like.
Beautiful house, great layout and well appointed. Wonderful weekend away, thanks!
We rented the house for a girl's weekend away and found the place was just perfect for us. It is well hidden from the hustle-bustle of the main street and close to a quiet beach. It is surrounded by trees giving it an echo-resort type feel. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking to go for a relaxing getaway from the busy city. It is suited for couple as well as group of people.
The only negative comment we had was that there were no spare towels or blankets. We were lucky that it wasn't too cold the night we stayed there but it for those who stay there during winter will find it bit chilly. It would be nice to have an access to some spare blankets. Having said that I would still go there again.
Only there for a couple of days, but would be a great place for an extended stay in the warmer months. A nice quiet area close to the beach and a wonderful deck area. Clear instructions, easy communication and some useful local tips all enhanced our stay on the peninsula. No kids with us, but looked ideal for a family with children.
I'm a beach loving writer with an Australian sheepdog called Baxter and a young family. This is one of our favourite places on earth. It has bracing nature, plenty of space to get away from the city and all of the comforts of home. It's a great little house for entertaining too with a huge deck and space for two couples to share the house with their own bathroom and privacy.
