The cottage was exactly as described and suited our needs for this trip. It's proximity and ease of access to the water is a real plus. Water views, however, were obstructed by neighbors' overgrown shrubbery. We found the cottage well-outfitted and supplied. We were there in an unusually hot spell, and the upstairs was not habitable on some days until sundown. But the evening air was always cool. Guests need to be prepared for a sometimes lack of parking near the cottage; there is no automobile access. The hike to the cottage is steep, but short and well-maintained. Shore Road is a delightful walking venue. Our Welsh Terrier vacationed here with us and met several canine friends, which she visited every day on our walks. Access to Belfast is easy and short. We enjoyed eating out and shopping there. There are no laundry facilities in the cottage, so we made a couple of trips to the Belfast Laundromat - right on the town entrance street and next to the Co-Op - a great grocery store. Enjoyed the Belfast movie theater. Ate lots of lobster: Young's Lobster Pound is a true "Down East" experience!
Steve responded quickly, and gave good instructions for arriving at his home. The house was lovely, comfortable, and well situated. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck outside the kitchen with a view of the bay, and returned to that deck for evening games and star gazing. The cottage is about 1.5 hours from Acadia National Park, and an easy drive into the the very quaint and bustling Camden.
Steve's cottage was in a lovely location and had everything we needed. There's two porches and the house is fully equipped. It's a great location for exploring the coast - so many places are within 1 - 1.5 hrs. I hope to be back!
Great little cottage with a lovely view of the bay.
Neighbors were very friendly offering to help navigate the area.
My dog loved hanging out in the backyard. I absolutely will stay there again next summer.
Arriving in daylight is highly recommended. We arrived in the pitch dark and found it quite challenging to find Steve's house which is set behind another and up a grassy hill. That said, we enjoyed our stay - were please to find a rocky beach within a short stroll, to discover the town of Belfast and visit the little village of Liberty (home of Liberty Tool). We managed to cook ourselves a lobster dinner and loved sitting out on the porch. This is a lovely part of the world.
The cottage was very cozy and in a good location. It was beautiful to sit out on the porch during the sunny mornings and see the stars at night. Plus it was seconds away from the beach! Steve was a wonderful host; very sweet and accommodating. We had a slight hiccup our first night and he went out of his way to resolve it quickly! He was very easy to communicate with and very friendly. Also his neighbors were super friendly and great with providing us with beautiful areas to visit and local things to do. Overall it was a very nice experience. Thank you Steve!
