The Space

Our son has moved away to college and has given us his permission (lol) to rent out his room so that he can help offset his college expenses. What a hoot!

Welcome to our home. We have 3 of our bedrooms listed on Airbnb. This listing features our Gray guest room. You can enjoy all the comforts of a clean and peaceful home if you choose to stay with us. Upon request I can serve a breakfast between 7:45am - 9:00am on your first day of your stay. A real twin-sized bed to sleep in and WiFi at your fingertips. There is also a restaurant (email hidden) serving breakfast, lunch and dinner within a 5 minute walk. You will have complimentary access to the swimming pool, tennis courts and pond. All are within a 30 second to one minute walk from our front door. There is a pond in our backyard if you enjoy quiet time fishing or just want to chill and watch the water. We absolutely love our location which allows us to enjoy our feel of country living within 8 miles to downtown Raleigh. I will be a great hostess and even show you around if you would like and my schedule permits. I also love to cook, eat good flavorful food and have a nice large kitchen for you to make yourself at home in. Washer and Dryer is available for an extra fee. Pets count as a guest. Our neighborhood is a golfing community.

  • Lilla and her family are awesome. We had the best breakfast ever and great conversations. I felt like I knew their family for years even though I had just met them. I highly recommend staying with the Duhons. Fantastic experience.

  • Dear Lilla,
Thank you so much for having me in your beautiful home. You made me feel so welcome. The room was wonderful, the bed comfy, and the location perfect for my visit...any one will be pleased to stay with you. (And just I case *you* are there when Lilla decides to bake, you are in for a treat.) What a nice place to stay! Thank you Lilla and John.

  • Lilla and John were outstanding. I can't recommend them highly enough. They were considerate and went out of their way to make sure my stay was excellent. If you're near Raleigh you should absolutely stay with them.

  • Well what can I say, the second room "Gray" room will not disappoint. With large desk, big fluffy pillows and a warm blanket. As always the room is very clean & decorated beautifully! Even thou the rooms are in front my widow open at night the sounds of birds in the morning, crisp dew is refreshing and peaceful. Juice, coffee, fruit and waffles in the morning with a walk around the pond. Both Emma (my basset) & I will truly miss Lilla, John, Sonic & Crash. If you are passing through or coming to this area - This is the place to stay!

Only that both Emma & I will miss Lilla, John, Sonic & Crash

  • If only they would adopt me! Both Lilla & John are the nicest people I have ever met in a long time. Lilla is funny, warm, open. Their home sits in a beautiful subdivision overlooking a big pond. Once you step inside, you have a warm feeling like you are coming to visit family. The Safari room is clean with big pillows & warm blankets. The bathroom is spotless with clean fresh towels. First night Lilla made me dinner which was wonderful. Wait that is not all! Breakfast is a feast of waffles, grits, bacon, eggs, coffee & juice. Honestly you will not be disappointed there are not enough stars to rate them. Oh lets not forget Sonic & Crash both loving sweet dogs. My dog felt right at home! For me personally, I am overwhelmed and truly met life long friends. Thank you both so very much!

  • Lilla was a great host-and I didn't even stay there! I had a friend traveling through the area, and was in a tight spot economically. I decided I would treat her to a night at Lilla's and very last minute, Lilla agreed to help my friend (and her dog) out. She took her in and I was able to book and pay from my end with no trouble. We really appreciated how kind she was. My friend gave her 5-stars and said Lilla was very welcoming and kind.

  • First, I want to say that any compliment I leave would be an understatement. I need to add 5 additional stars to this rating!!

My daughter & I rented the Safari Room on Friday Evening. The home is beautiful; the room is beautiful. They were very accommodating. They adjusted the air for us. I told Lilla Von that she even had my favorite color towels in the bathroom! (10 points!!) Anything that was needed, they delivered. They are very welcoming, genuine and down to earth people. Saturday morning, the breakfast was DELICIOUS! I am not able to eat sugar or flour, so Lilla Von created a completely separate meal for me to eat which was heaven in a plate!

We were honored to be the first guests to hold an event at John & Lilla Von's home. My daughter celebrated her Graduation from High School. Lilla Von assisted with the set up and was their to provide anything additional the guests may have needed. My daughter, her friends and our family had such a great time. Some of the guests literally said "this was the best Graduation Party I've ever been to" and it was largely for due to Lilla Von and John. They opened up their home, their yard and their hearts.

They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly from the such a special, precious and memorable moment......for that I am forever grateful.

    Thank you!!

  • I had a wonderful stay with Lilla and John. I felt completely at home with them. Lilla definitely outdid herself every morning with breakfast. I wish I could eat like that everyday. I would recommend them to anyone.

  • Lilla and John were most gracious and accommodating. I especially enjoyed sumptuous breakfasts and the beautiful area and pond that borders their home. Everything I required to have a comfortable stay was thoughtfully provided before I even asked. The home was immaculate, the conversations lively, the food delicious and though they were friendly, I had privacy when I wanted it. Seeing the swans on the pond and riding the paddleboat were especially fun, and as an animal lover I enjoyed their two well-behaved dogs. I would definitely choose them again.

  • Lilla & John are wonderful hosts (As well as Crash and Sonic; the two kid friendly dogs). We arrived as guests, but left as family. Not only did they accommodated my family for our stay, but provided directions to local spots, provided equipment for our trip to the beach, and had more than enough entertainment for my 3 year old niece and 8 year old nephew. Breakfast for our 5 day stay was a great way to start the day, and everything from the home to the Neighborhood Park was terrific. We simply had a wonderful time, and look forward to continue our friendship with Lilla and John.

I love dogs, flavorful food, gardening, tennis, volleyball, billiards, beaches and cruising. I enjoy being outdoors mostly. I also occasionally enjoy movies but not at the cinema because I would prefer to curl up in a blanket while watching the movie.
