Our Rose Covered Cottage is on a quiet lane in Guerneville. Just a few blocks from town and a short walk to the river. The guest cottage overlooks a cottage garden, with separate entrance and parking. Historically it was built as a water tower about 1900. The Rose Cottage has recently been remodeled, and is now a quiet retreat. The bedroom has a king bed and the living room a new queen bed sofa. There is a small but fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with a large shower. There is excellent wireless internet service. Guerneville is unique village on the Russian River with great restaurants and shops, surrounded by vineyards and great Wineries. You will be delighted by the wonderful river access or a short drive will take you to the ocean. Terrific hiking in Armstrong Woods and world class biking, followed by a lazy float down the river which runs through the Redwood forest. A great place for a long or short get away. The neighborhood is quiet but an easy stroll just a few blocks to the center of town.
If you come to Guerneville for one of the Vineman Triathlons, the special events, the music festivals, or just to relax you will never need to get in your car, you can walk down to the center of Guerneville.
Our house is close but not too close. We enjoy our guests who come from all over the world, but know how to give them privacy. We feel privileged to live in this beautiful spot. No pets please, they disturb our chickens! Come visit!

Kathleen was a super host! Not only was the cottage incredibly charming and beautiful, but Kathleen had left a binder full of recommended restaurants, bars, hikes, wineries, and activities. It made our first trip to Guerneville (and Valentine's Day weekend) incredibly memorable. Kathleen was also super communicative and made check-in and check-out a breeze. We would absolutely stay here again!
Just as advertised... Very quiet, well-cared for, 5-minute walk to downtown Guerneville. The cabin had everything we needed with well-appointed kitchen, comfortable furnishings, wireless access. Kathleen was a knowledgeable and helpful host-- this was our first visit to The Russian River region and she was wealth of useful information.
We had a wonderful stay in Kathleen's truly charming cottage. The place was perfect for us with a bedroom, a living area and a small kitchen. We had so much more space than we would have had in a hotel or B&B, and we were still walking distance from everything Guerneville has to offer. Kathleen was attentive and the house was stocked with very helpful information on hiking, wine country, and places to eat. Would definitely stay again.
Kathleen is a welcoming host with a fabulous little cottage. We loved our stay. The cottage is immaculate, a great location for exploring the Russian River region, and so comfortable to come "home" to.
This was a very lovely place to stay. We like that it was quiet, but close to town. Kathleen was a wonderful host that was available if needed, but stayed out of the way. She provide lots of information about where to eat, including reviews, and things to do. The location was close to nice parks for hiking and close to the vineyards for wine tours.
This is an easy review to write because this is definitely "as advertised": lovely, calm and super relaxing. And just an overall thumbs up for Kathleen and Ed for taking their hospitality charge seriously - every detail was in the guest book.
Kathleen was super clear on how to get the key and flexible on our arrival time. And the place is immaculate! Pretty much everything you need.
Perched high on a hill you are able to have your shangri-la while walking down the hill 3 minutes to get the best coffee in town.
So yeah, all in all, pretty idyllic for a calm, convenient stay in Guerneville.
Lovely space, sparkling clean, outfitted with everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. The shower is amazing. Kathleen is a great resource for local eats. Peaceful, restful stay. Would definitely visit again.
We feel privileged to live in this gorgeous Russian River area. Sonoma County’s spectacular scenery gives us pleasure every day. There are magnificent redwoods on our property and I especially enjoy hiking at Armstrong Redwoods Park, only 2 miles from home. Our family owns the Bodega Bay Inn where we having enjoyed welcoming guests for years.
