About this listing

Our Cottage in a quiet neighborhood is just a few blocks from Main Street, Guerneville. Easy walking distance to town. It has a fully equipped kitchen, king bed in bedroom & queen sleeper sofa living room. A large porch overlooks the cottage garden.

The space

Our Rose Covered Cottage is on a quiet lane in Guerneville. Just a few blocks from town and a short walk to the river. The guest cottage overlooks a cottage garden, with separate entrance and parking. Historically it was built as a water tower about 1900. The Rose Cottage has recently been remodeled, and is now a quiet retreat. The bedroom has a king bed and the living room a new queen bed sofa. You will find a completely equipped galley kitchen. A separate lavatory with washer - dryer, bathroom with a large shower. There is excellent wireless internet service. Guerneville is unique village on the Russian River with great restaurants and shops, surrounded by vineyards and great Wineries. You will be delighted by the wonderful river access or a short drive will take you to the ocean. Terrific hiking in Armstrong Woods and world class biking, followed by a lazy float down the river which runs through the Redwood forest. A great place for a long or short get away. The neighborhood is quiet but an easy stroll just a few blocks to the center of town.
If you come to Guerneville for one of the Vineman Triathlons, the special events, the music festivals, or just to relax you will never need to get in your car, you can walk down to the center of Guerneville.
Our house is close but not too close. We enjoy our guests who come from all over the world, but know how to give them privacy. We feel privileged to live in this beautiful spot. No pets please, they disturb our chickens! Come visit!

Guest access

The cottage is separate from the main house by a garden and separate driveway. There is parking for one car, or two small cars off street next to the cottage. The parking is marked by a Large Metal Bird Sculpture. The cottage has a large covered porch and a small stone patio with a Weber charcoal kettle for your use.

Interaction with guests

We enjoy our guests and are always available but hope to give guests all the privacy they would like.

Kathleen and Ed's cottage is beautiful and the perfect spot for a Sonoma getaway. It is very clear they put a lot of thought into making it a comfortable place for guests. It is well-located and easy to find. We had a great time and hope to return again in the future!

We were in town for a wedding and had such a lovely time staying at the cottage! It was a perfect weekend and Kathleen had great suggestions on restaurants and things to do in the area. Definitely recommend!

This is a great cottage. It had a very roomy bed, with great storage for clothes. The bedroom stays fairly dark so plan on setting an alarm to get up early. We enjoyed the sleeping in, ourselves. The living/kitchen/dining area was great. Kitchen was functional and well equipped. The TV was smallish but, actually, was fine based on how the living area was set up. Loved the skylights. The bathroom/shower/sink area was great. Again, nice storage. One of my pet peeves with hotels is lack of any kind of storage for your toiletries. The shower was very nice with a fixed shower head and a hand shower. Water pressure was surprisingly good for being so high up the hill. The washer/dryer was not used but they can be very handy for longer stays. There was a nice table/area outside but it was still too cool for us to spend time out there. The only "issue" is that the walk down the hill into town has to be followed by a walk up the hill so if you want to go into town without the car to drink, plan on leaning forward a lot to get back up the hill. It's worth it for being so close to downtown.

This was a lovely stay for our small family. At once both a peaceful retreat and a close walk to town, a wealth of information on the area waiting for us, and a warm and friendly host. It was the perfect getaway spot, and our toddler loved the chickens!

I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon Kathleen's listing and discovered Guerneville. From the charming rose cottage we were a short walk or drive away from an amazing selection of restaurants, the Russian River, the Sonoma Coast State Beach, the Armstrong Redwood Forest, Korbel Winery, and so much more. Kathleen made our stay so easy (check-in and check-out were a breeze) and the cottage had everything that we needed. Thank you! We hope to come back again soon.

We feel privileged to live in this gorgeous Russian River area. Sonoma County’s spectacular scenery gives us pleasure every day. There are magnificent redwoods on our property and I especially enjoy hiking at Armstrong Redwoods Park, only 2 miles from home. The incredible restaurants in west Sonoma County draw guests here and give us great pleasure. We bike our scenic trails and can kayak in the Russian River, walking distance from our home.
