Stay in a restored log cabin with queen loft, 1.5 baths (shower/no tub), fully furnished kitchen, breakfast room & den. Huge wood burning fireplace to make Winter month rentals especially enjoyable. Firewood provided. Great sunsets from back porch. We share fresh eggs from the chickens, Kangen/alkaline water, & fresh veggies from Summer garden. Pet friendly. Wifi (recently placed a Verizon air card in cabin to eliminate issues we've had with spotty connection), Direct TV. Separate entrance & separate parking from hosts in main house. Hosts have super friendly golden retriever and a 6 year old that play in shared backyard daily. Mini-splits in den, kitchen, and loft for both heating and air conditioning. The cabin is 1/2 mile off Exit 15 of I-26 which goes straight into Asheville. Easy to get to. 10 minutes to Navitat Canopy Tours (coolest zip lines around!), 10 minutes to French Broad River, 15 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway, 12 miles to Wolf Laurel Ski Resort and snow tubing, 8 minutes to great restaurants, art, clubs, people-watching, etc... in awesome Asheville, 5 minutes to quaint downtown Weaverville or Mars Hill, location of Mars Hill College. Cabin located 1 minute off Interstate I-26.
We have nice (close proximity) neighbors to the right of our home, nobody on the left that you'll see, and there is a nice neighborhood across the street that has good hills for walking exercise. Jupiter Rd. is a fairly busy county road. Pay attention when exiting the driveway.
Interaction with Guests
As much or little as they would like. Guests do a self-check-in.
We're located on a county road that allows us to feel like we're out in the country to some degree, yet Weaverville is 5 minutes away, and Asheville is 10 minutes away. We have a great neighborhood across the street where we can walk the dog and get some good hill exercise!
No. Just taxi service.
There is a queen pull-out sofa downstairs should you need an extra bed.
PARKING: we have driveways on both sides of our main house. Yours is the one to the RIGHT of the house, directly at the mailbox with a red reflective "147" indicator. Pull in directly in front of the garage/workshed and enter the tall wooden gate to your left. Sometimes the gate sticks, so just push hard. Please park as far left in the driveway as possible so our neighbors can get their two cars in.
Please wash all your dishes before departure and place all linens by the washer/dryer.
We'd appreciate the fireplace users placing cooled ashes/leftover charred wood in the provided ash pail on back deck, as the cleaner greatly appreciates this on quick turn-around days. We'll empty the pail in our compost bin.
As part of our quarterly pest control treatment, we leave mice bait boxes out in a few locations around the cabin. They are in out of the way places and supposedly pet and child "resistant", but a determined child or pet could possibly get into them. Please be aware if you're traveling with either, and if you let me know you're concerned, I can remove them before you arrive.
GeGe was amazing, excellent communication and had the cabin ready for us! The bed is very comfortable, the upstairs bathroom is very large. We absolutely loved the fireplace. Its easy to locate and close to downtown.
GeGe was a great host. She did everything she could to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The cabin was very clean and cozy and bigger than it looked in the pictures. Although it was pretty close to the main house, it still felt very private. Scout was very sweet.
The cabin was great! Solid location, awesome fireplace and plenty of space. Very cozy and inviting. Awesome back porch and great yard if you have your dog joining you. Definitely recommended!
Everything during our stay was perfect! Directions were simple, the guest house was beautiful, clean, and cozy. Very friendly and welcoming hosts, down to the "Welcome Guests" sign on the gate to assure us we were in the right place. The mountain view was breathtaking. GeGe went above and beyond, researching good hot spots and restaurants to recommend. Our pup loved the spacious yard. All I can say is you've got to check this out...you won't regret it. This was such a great experience, we hope to visit again soon! SO worth it!!! Can't rave about it enough.
GeGe was easy to communicate with and her cabin was absolutely charming. We loved the interior, spacious yet cozy, and really enjoyed her yard and sweet dog Scout- who made a great playmate for our pup.
This was by far the best airbnb experience we have had. The cabin was very clean, cozy and welcoming. The hosts paid attention to detail in every corner. We brought our two dogs and enjoyed playing with their dog Scout (the most adorable dog ever) and the spacious backyard. The views are spectacular, especially in the morning when eating breakfast and brewing some coffee. The location is perfect, not too far from the city but away enough to escape the hustle and bustle. Lots of firewood to enjoy the fireplace! The experience was so great that we wanted to extend our time there! I would've loved to stay longer! This is one worth returning to year after year!
This year I would not be able to see my grandchild for the holidays. So early in the year we booked this cabin. Little did I know what was to come. This is an actual log cabin. It has everything you could ever need. Tastefully decorated, we had a small christmas tree, Bose Christmas music, handmade Santas on the mantle, a fire in the fireplace, and our small pet was even made very comfortable. I didn't want to go to bed each night. It was absolutely magical.... and guess who got the spirit? The owners were the most delightful people, I will miss them and think of them often. I hope to be able to keep in touch for a very long time. The area was awesome, we never had an even so-so meal, the shopping was just like I like and there are so many artists in the area! GeGe and her lovely family are a treasure, I hope they know that and will keep it close to their heart always. Hope to see them soon.... P.S. this form only has five stars to chose, it should have more.
