Star and Serena were such lovely hosts. It was easy to get in touch with either if you need anything and the vibe was always warm and inviting. The beautiful spot is tucked away in the jungle, yet not too far from town If food or items are needed. All the fruit and avacodos you could want! Amazing for walks or yoga or just a relaxing get away. There is also a common area that is great to hang from a hammoc and soak up the sun. Def the place to go to get the real old school jungle vibe of the original Hawaii, just the drive from the main road lined witb palm trees and two rainbow eucalyptus trees is worth the trip! Take the time book with star and you won't regret her warm hearted nature and the lovely land she has. Much love!

We loved straying here. I really enjoyed all the lovely sounds and sites at night and day. The place was private and secluded yet so open to nature. The communication was great and I have no complaints. I would stay again and the location was great! This place fit our budget and was a fun place to stay and come back to night after night. We had a great stay!

The place is amazing. Jungle feeling, great host, one-in-a-lifetime bath. Truly a magical place I would be happy to return to.

We loved this place! The cabins are secluded and very private by all the trees on the property. We loved that we could pick fruit every morning and have fresh juice. There are many types of fruit trees growing around the cabins. Bananas, coconut, cocoa, tangelo, orange, lemon, grapefruits, avocado, and starfruit to name a few. We loved that we could pick and eat! What a bonus! This is an experience that if you are the outdoorsy type and want something you'll remember go here.

I arrived at the coconut cabin on 9/29 and stayed there for two weeks. The space at yoga oasis was very beautiful in and of itself, but they were having management troubles while I was there so it was pretty chaotic, and poorly cared for. The property manager at the time was not cleaning the cabins so I was quite disappointed arriving to a messy, dirty, untended room, and had to spend a couple days doing general cleaning. Most of the common space was also very messy, and so I felt rather unsettled for most of my stay at yoga oasis. I actually dislocated my shoulder while staying here, and Star criticized the property manager for driving me to the ER in Hilo, saying "it was a personal choice" to help me while I was alone on the property (and traveling alone in hawaii) with my arm out of its socket, and that he should have used his time to clean instead. She also gave me a refund for only several days when I had to cut my trip several weeks short due to my injury. However, towards the tail end of my trip, the owners were recruiting a bunch of new employees fix up and restore the property, so I'm sure it is on it's way back to a better environment.

The Coconut Cabin was beautiful and secluded, we slept soundly every night accompanied by the sounds of the jungle, really enjoyed bathing in the open air tub, and were generally very comfortable. We did a small amount of cooking in the kitchen thanks to the sink and small gas range. There was no refrigerator so we bought a cooler to store drinks and food (although we could have stored food in the main house also). The guys at the main house were friendly and welcoming. When we visited, Pāhoa was just in the process of re-opening most of its shops after the impending lava flow stopped, but the restaurants we were able to visit were generally quite good.

Star is kind, welcoming, and helpful as was everyone we encountered at the Oasis. The daily Chi/Hatha Yoga (within walking distance!) and Captain Gene's Lava Boat Tours were additional incredible blessings that we never would have experienced had we stayed elsewhere. We loved the big comfy bed and bathtub. The gas stove and sink are installed in the kitchen! Both saved us time and money. We didn't use the main house refrigerator much, preferring instead to keep things closed (and just cool) in the cooler. There are mosquitos, ants, and loud coquille frogs (it is the rainforest), but as others have said, a little mindfulness goes a long way in mitigating those factors. Star loaned us clearly printed directions that we used to get to nearby spots everyday. Enjoy the weekly markets! The location between Pahoa and the southeast coast (not far from Volcano National Park and Hilo) was very comfortable for us with a rental car.
