Only steps from the MUNI J-Church line, you can take the scenic route into downtown (incredible view of City from Dolores Park), or hop on BART for a quick ride downtown.

Interaction with Guests
We have really liked all the guests that have stayed with us through Airbnb. Some have a lot of questions about the City, others are more familiar. We respect guests' privacy, but if our guests want to talk, we'd love to answer any questions and find out about where they live. My husband and I have an extensive knowledge of the Bay Area and we are happy to give travel advice and tips, if asked. One or both of us will most likely be present when guests arrive.
This Mission Terrace location is excellent, if you like a quiet place to retreat to after business/partying/fun/sightseeing in the City. In a few minutes, you will be away from the hubbub, in front of the fireplace and recounting your adventures over a glass of wine. There is a coffee shop on the ground floor, a dry cleaners across the street and a corner store nearby. A little farther walk is the Glen Park Village area with restaurants, grocery store, library, etc. Most homes in the area were built in the 1920's and 30s and there is a distinct Moderne and Spanish Revival flair in the architecture. We live on the top floor of a 10 unit building, and there is a great view from the guest room and even the guest bathroom. There are three flights of stairs and no elevators. As a reminder, a street car does go by outside, but only one of every 20 guests has a problem with the noise. We do have earplugs available for your use.
FROM/TO SFO AIRPORT: Twenty minutes from SFO by car and 25 minutes by BART. Shuttles cost about $25 to $30. You can also use LYFT, if you have the app.
PUBLIC: The best way to engage the city is to use public transportation. The historic "F" trolleys come right by our home along with the J-Church Muni Metro and the stop is right on the corner, the fare is $2 and good for 90 minutes on any MUNI bus or metro. As mentioned, the Glen Park BART station is about an 8 minute walk from your room and, within the City boundaries, costs $1.85. We have an extra clipper card that you can use, load it up at the nearest BART or Muni Station. A Clipper Card is very convenient and you will not need to fumble with change and transfers.
AUTO: There is street parking available, subject to street cleaning on Wednesdays and Fridays (and church on Saturday & Sunday). Park on the street for free and take MUNI!
Other Things to Note
Let us know if you prefer coffee, tea or juice in AM and it will be set out on dining room table before you arise.
OTHER: We are open to negotiating other issues that we have not yet considered. No harm in inquiring!
AS IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW: In terms of clothing, bring layers, we only have an average of 5 hot days per year (anything over 80°F), but most days are mild with cool mornings and evenings. There is some general city noise because, well, we live in a city. You might hear the woosh of the BART or the street car passing by. Mission Terrace, however, is definitely one of the quieter neighborhoods in San Francisco.
KEYS: $50 charge for lost keys.
QUIET HOURS: Chill out after 10:00pm until 8:00 am, rooftop access only on roof over your bedroom.
KITCHEN: limited kitchen privileges: feel free to make breakfast (or share ours) or use the fridge for a few items, you can also use our dishes and utensils and microwave to reheat. More elaborate meal prep requires negotiation.
DOGS: a small, well-behaved dog is negotiable with extra deposit of $100. We have dog blankets, but you might want to bring your own dog bedding. We also have bowls and mat for small dog.
CHILDREN: If your child is well-behaved and not a toddler, there should be no problem. We have a fold out sleeping mat and extra linens. Please be aware that the house is not childproofed.
A complete house rules and guide to the room and area is available in your room. You can find instructions for the washer and dryer, wifi, etc. in this guide.
Convenient luggage rack. Vintage vanity with drawers available for your use. Note the private entrance on the right of photo.
A great welcome Brigitte is very approachable and friendly
Description is accurate room really nice and as expected - nice area and perfectly safe in all aspects and very well served by the regular public transport.
We had a wonderful visit in San Francisco. The host was out of town for a few days so we ended up having the whole place to ourselves. The accommodations were exactly as described. Our flight times did not align well with the stated check in and check out times but we were able to bring up our luggage the morning we got in and pick up our luggage later the day we left.
Once Brigitte and Jose returned we immediately felt at ease around them. For the most part we were out and about on adventures, but on a few quiet nights we got a chance to spend some time with them and had wonderful conversations.
The one thing I will warn future visitors of, and we should have known better, it is a walk up to the top floor. We didn't plan well and brought one heavy suitcase rather than a few manageable ones.
Brigitte made herself available to accommodate any of our needs, even while she was away. She gave us a lot of recommendations and offered to help me plan a birthday surprise since we were going to be arriving on my wife's birthday. She was very easy to get ahold of, both before our trip and once we arrived.
Overall I would highly highly recommend Brigitte and the Sunny San Francisco Bed & Bath.
We loved our stay with Brigitte! The room and bathroom were beautiful and the roof offered spectacular views of the area. It's super close to both the BART and MUNI, so there's really no need for a car. Also, make sure to try the food nearby, especially the coffee place downstairs. The only thing I would recommend is to bring something if you're a light sleeper since the muni can be a bit loud at night if you're not used to it.
Brigitte herself is an awesome woman! Very interesting and friendly, she's also very knowledgeable about the city and gives good advice about how to get around and where to go.
The room is settled very nicely and Brigitte was very supportive! The room and bathroom is in very good condition. To downtown it is a direct 30 min ride with the local Metro which stops directly in front of the building. This is also the slight downside: the muni can be a bit noisy in the night. So for silence seekers this might not be the right place, for all others it is perfect.
I do live in a city and for that reason I have earplugs available in the nightstand. Most guests don't notice, but if you come from a quiet area, expect some city noise. I also want to add that in terms of public transportation MUNI is more scenic but does take longer - BART is underground and takes about 12-14 minutes from Glen Park Bart Station to Powell Station.
Me and my friend stayed at Brigitte's lovely place for four nights. She and her husband are super friendly and talkative and we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The room is just as described if not even better. The private bathroom is great as well, and very clean. All in all a perfect stay for us while visiting San Francisco. And be sure to eat some yummy crepes at Higher Grounds, like a 15 min walk from the house. Best crepe I've ever had!
Brigitte and her husband are excellent hosts. They are welcoming and very personable. Although we didn't need it, I thought it was exceptionally nice of them to offer use of the refrigerator/kitchen as well as the laundry. The room is as described and comfortable. I didn't know anything about San Francisco prior to my visit, but I did find that I really enjoyed the area we stayed in. Valencia is right around the corner and public transit is in walking distance. Parking can be a bit difficult on the weekends if you have a car with you, but we managed just fine by parking 2 short blocks away. If you do stay here, be sure to have them point you in the direction of the pizza place around the corner - yum! I would definitely stay with Brigitte if I happen to visit again.
We enjoyed our stay with Brigitte and her husband very much. They have a very lovely place which is easily accessible by the underground and street car. We got to know San Francisco much better, thanks to Bridgette and her husband, both of whom are very hospital and helpful.
About the Host, Brigitte
I love San Francisco so much that I prefer to stay at home for vacations! However, my husband loves to travel and, thanks to him, I've seen the world. But, San Francisco still rates as my number 1 destination ; )
Not necessarily in this order, If I was stranded on a deserted island without friends and family, It would be a little more comfortable if I had good coffee, fresh produce, my extensive Jazz, Latin & Old-school collection, my desserts, KQED/KPFA, the latest version of Adobe's Creative Suite and all my books. Throw in some cocktails and it is starting to sound like fun. I also love home improvement projects and baking.
I have lived in the Bay Area since 1978. Go Bears.
