I had to reschedule my trip last minute due to a family emergency. I asked Karvel if I could reschedule to a date he had open and he denied my request and took my deposit. I would expect this property to understand special circumstances and allow me to reschedule, but there was n…

I offer a service to all travelers and provide a great booking to all my guests who stay or book with me. I am sorry you were not able to stay with us and I confused you with another person who stayed with us. I am sorry you were not able to stay and I hope you were able to take care of your emergency.

Karvel's place was wonderful! Such a cool hotel with excellent window views. The room was very clean, as were the bathrooms. Karvel was very friendly and gave us some great tips on where to go and what to do! Would definitely recommend.

Quiet neighborhood. Majestic Fjord views. Phenomenal host in Karvel who seems genuinely interested in ensuring you enjoy your time in Iceland. Don't ask about Icelandic history unless you're ready for some stories! I hope to return again one day. Grateful.

Reasonably priced hotel in a good location in this part of Iceland. Our room was clean and tidy - on the small side, but enough space for our bags. The bathrooms are communal for the floor which is strange for a hotel, but worked out OK. Food options were advertised, but when we …

Sorry about not providing breakfast at Hotel Bjarg but my worker has an infection of his foot and we are not able to staff the kitchen for breakfast meals anymore. Fosshotel is within a 10min walk from us and there my guests can have a breakfast between 8-9;00am Cheers and Enjoy Iceland!

Didn't spend much time here. We arrived late at 12 am when the check in time was by 10 pm. Host was upset and was questioning us whether we know the house rules instead of letting us in. We were told that we could be turned away for not showing up before 10 pm. Breakfast must be …

PLEASE RESPECT THE SLEEPING NEEDS OF OTHER GUESTS WHO ARE CONSDIERETLY ARRIVEING ON TIME AND FOLLOW THE HOUSE RULES OF CHECK-IN TIME. I have noticed after 11years of operation here on the peaceful East Coast that some travelers only think of themselfs and do as they please despite what the host is trying to do for all travelers. Arriveing late and takeing late showers really disturbs the sleep of others in this quiete environment. I am sorry if you feel I offended you but I need to protect the needs of other travelers and thankfully I can say that 99% of the travelers respect/obey the house rules.

My girlfriend and I were traveling the ring road and were booked to stay at Hotel Bjarg. We had car issues and were delayed, and I didn't realize there was a 100% strict 10 pm arrival time. I called the host to ask if there was any flexibility, and he refused to either accommodat…

I ask all guests to arrive by 10:00pm as per house rules. I waited up the previous night till 2:00am for a late check in that said they would be at Hotel Bjarg at 11pm at the latest. I explained to you that I had stayed up late the previous night and was no way I could stay up late again but I guess you forgot to mention that in your review. The drive to Hotel Bjarg was at least 2-3 hrs away by your description at the time. The country part of Iceland is rather quiet after 10:00pm and most of my guests have gone to bed by then or are about to. Many travelers think its ok to come late and arrive whenever they please to my dwelling. I have found after 11yrs of operational experience here at Hotel Bjarg that my other guests get quite upset at establishment when their rest is disturbed by other inconsiderate guests arriving late for their check-inn so I have to deny those late arrivals to access the house most of the time. I must awake fresh at 6:00am to do my breakfast for my guests and we have a rather long season ahead of us. I suggest you read the Air BnB house rules before you do any more bookings and try to follow other hosts rules before arriveing late. I do believe you are entitled to a car insurence refund by your car rental agency for your automobile break down? I provide a service with 8 bedrooms(16persons) here at Hotel Bjarg and I must consider their sleep needs. Sorry

We were traveling from Reykjavik to here for a long day of travel, and were noted that due to the house rules of 10PM check in, the host didn't want to stay up later to let us in. We were trying to communicate the best we could with the host, but he is unwilling to accommodate or…

I must also get my required sleep of at least 6 hours and usually I go to sleep at 10-midnight and awake fresh at 6:00am to do my breakfast for my guests. I do not like denying guests to arrive late but 11 yrs of experience has taught me that the majority og guests are on time and I feel that their sleeping needs should not be penalized by late guests arrival. Sorry
