This is one of the safest neighborhoods in Rio, Urca is really the most charming and security place. We have a perfect view of the Corcovado, Guanabara Bay and of the city.
Here everything is an excuse for a walk through the quiet streets; the markets, local bars, restaurants and bistros take all 5-10 min away by foot.
Sugar Loaf is 15 min by foot and next have the restaurant and nightclub Zozô.
Should you want to hit the beach or go somewhere more agitated, bus lines take you to the city centre, or anywhere on the zona sul; one bus line takes you directly to the subway.
Room with double bed, private bathroom, air conditioning, spacious wardrobe. Our guests are welcomed with comfort and tranquility.
Bedding clean and of good standard.
A few steps to Sugar Loaf, bus stop in front to south zone, center, lapa, easy access to anywhere you want, bus metro stops in front.
The neighborhood is very quiet where you can make a nice walk and take beautiful pictures, trendy bars to choose, only a few steps.
Well frequented restaurants, markets, drugstores.
We speak English, french and portuguese.
We were delighted with the position, quality We were delighted with the area and quality of the accommodation and welcome Cissa gave us. Although Rio was at its busiest with the carnival in full swing we found everyone helpful and to our surprise as we are in our 70's all transport was free, entrance to the sugar loaf etc. was half price and when queuing officials took us out of line and sent us to the front. We felt like royalty.

My stay with Cissa was amazing. As a young woman traveling alone to Rio who speaks no Portuguese safety was very important to me and this was the perfect place. Urca is beautiful, quiet and safe. I went out almost every night in the other neighborhoods and never felt unsafe coming home late. It did get a little expensive traveling to the other neighborhoods as I always took taxis home late at night. (Cost about 25 R$) However during the day the busses are very safe. Bus rides are 3.40 R$ which converts to $1.25 us currency. The bus to copacabana/impanema is about 20 minutes and to Santa teresa/lapa (where much of the night life is) about 30-40 mins. The bus stop is a 2 min walk from Cissa's home. There is also a small beach in 5 min walk, several restaurants, drug store and grocery store. Sugarloaf mountain is a very easy 20 minute walk. The house itself is beautiful. You have your own bathroom, a window with a gorgeous view, everything looks exactly like the pictures and is very clean. If you want to be in the middle of everything this may not be the place for you, but I found it very easy to travel and learned rio very quickly. I would definitely stay here again.
The room is very good - in a great location - we felt like we were part of the neighbourhood (living like locals)
A lot better than a stuffy hotel at Sky high prices for new year
Cissa is a very nice lady who will try to help you as much as possible
It also helps she speak good English
Thanks cissa - if you are staying in Rio. You cannot go far wrong with this place
Cissa was a great host. She gave us our privaty. The room is clean, exactly like at the picture and cozy. The house is very well located. It is quiet but not fare away from restaurants, a grocery store and a smal beautiful beach. You can go by bus very easy to the city center. The ´Zuckerberg´ close you can go there by walk.
I highly recommend Cissa´s cozy room.
Thanks a lot
Waterfront, spacious second-floor room, 10 minute walk to beach and a few restaurants. Cissa is a kind, English-speaking host who went out of her way to help with the practicalities of my stay.
Cissa is a very caring host. Her house is perfectly located and the is just... Wow! Very quiet too! I definitely recommand this place if you ever visit Rio.
