Welcome to Brooklyn! You're checking (email hidden) apt which is spacious, furnished comfortably, and conveniently located in Prospect/Crown Heights. There are many cute cafes, restaurants and bars right on Franklin ave.(half a block away), also it's a short walk to the Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza, Botanic Garden, and Vanderbilt Avenue. Take 2,3,4,5 to Franklin, B,Q to 7th Ave(or Prospect Park) stop. Half block from the Shuttle train that connects to c,2,3,4,5,B,Q.
The apartment is on the first floor of a lovely 4 story building. It's quiet at night, and cool in summer. In the bedroom there's a full size bed, a love seat and an AC, the living room is furnished with a sofa bed(full size), a desk, and a dining table. The kitchen is small but separate from the living room area. One small bathroom with a bathtub. There are windows in any part of the apartment.
It can accommodate up to 3 people.
Free Wifi, all the kitchenware.
It is a perfect neighborhood for young professionals or visiting parents whose children live nearby. There's Prospect Park in 10 min walk, grand army plaza where there's a farmers' market every Saturday, Brooklyn Museum, and Botanic Garden. Those who are not 1st timers of NY will enjoy this neighborhood better since it's still young and blooming neighborhood. I believe it'll be a better version of Williamsburg soon!
There's a Shuttle train that connects to a,c,2,3,4,5, which is half a block away from the apartment. You can also walk 4 blocks to Franklin Ave. stop and take 2,3,4,5. Franklin a, c stop is within 10 min. walking distance. I recommend to walk on Park Pl. towards Flatbush ave(also about 10 min) and take B, Q at 7th ave stop as well.
the experience staying in Giah's was great. I didn't get a chance to see her, but she is always there for you.
the apartment is nice, big and very comfortable. the neighbourhood is great and the shuttle train, just a feel meters from the building entrance door, takes you anywhere.
I will definitely stay there again on my return to NYC.
The reservation was canceled 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
For our first time using Airbnb, Ghia Lim's apt was great! Her place is quaint, clean and comfortable. She apparently has a housekeeper who made sure everything was in order upon our arrival, just like a hotel! The beds were comfortable and there were more than enough towels for everyone. Her kitchen seemed to have almost everything for cooking, but we only used pots for boiling water for tea & we ate out or at our daughters place for meals. Giah's apartment is around the corner from where our daughter lives which made connecting with her very convenient. We're big coffee drinkers so we liked that there were plenty of places near by to grab a cup as well as neighborhood grocery stores and fun places to grab a quick bite to eat. Giah was always available by cell and would reply to our questions very quickly. When we're in NY visiting our daughter again, we would definitely enjoy staying at Giah's place again! Thanks Giah! :-)
Got in late, so didn't meet Giah at all. Location is great: short walk to subway, coffee & restaurants just steps away. The neighborhood is "transitioning" -- to put it in awful real estate terms -- but I never felt unsafe. Apartment is spacious, clean, a little frayed at the edges. Not slick, but perfectly serviceable. We had a great time.
Room was adequate. Host was very good, met me at night when my flight arrived. I would not say it is for a business traveller but adequate and comfortable.
I would recommend this to someone else
Place was clean and convenient. Would definitely stay again. Communication was great!
Terribly dirty, dangerous and bad for your health. that is how we would sum up this apartment.
The bed was supposed to be clean, but the stains in the bed and hairs on the pillows gave us the idea it wasn't.
The mold in the bathroom was so bad, you could smell it throughout the whole apartment.
Most of the kitchen items where so dirty we decided to eat out every night, and the rest we ate from paper plates.
Safe yourself the money, trouble and health, don´t ever go here!!
There was a problem with the hand off of keys. The person who was supposed to be there wasn't and the keys were left on on outside windowsill.
Very good as far as NYC places to stay. Better than ones I had in Manhattan and half the price. Cool walkable neighborhood with great restaurants and organic food places. Walk to the subways into Manhattan, walk to Brooklyn Museum, library, botanical gardens. Plenty of hip coffee places.Giah was easy to deal with, no problem.
However, when we were there, there was construction going on upstairs every morning and a neighbor had a smoke alarm that needed a new battery so it beeped every minute for 5 days. But those won't be there for you, so not an issue in the future. Also, couch was a little funky for sleeping but the main bed is very good. Roomy...a very good alternative to Manhattan and I was digging Brooklyn. I'd recommend it.
The apartment is a good size and is furnished simply and comfortably. It has a good wi-fi and shower. The immediate area has some useful food shops and places to eat and drink. Giah was helpful in answering my questions.
