I have a one bedroom apartment in downtown Burlington and in the living room there are two futons. The space is pretty open and the living room is a central area between the bedroom and kitchen. There is a full kitchen for use as you would like and full bath with a full shower. Our front porch is nice for hanging and meeting people. You would be staying in our living room with full access to internet, hot showers, and street parking. I have been hosting through (website hidden) for quite some time and have really enjoyed hosting and showing people our city. The apartment is a block away from Church Street and in walking distance to anything you could need or want in town. I may be super busy and you won't see me or I may be bumming around the apartment, depends on the week really. The apartment is (email hidden)ly twenty something's area.
Burlington is a neat place, the waterfront is beautiful and there are great hiking spots and other beautiful nature, and there are many unique and eclectic places on Church street and around town. Everything is accessible by foot, bikes, or bus if you want to go someplace else in Vermont. The apartment is in a central and active part of town. On the weekends and the summer it is quite rowdy. By this I mean if you are staying on a Friday or Saturday night while UVM is in session, you will most likely hear some music or conversations from outside. If you are a light sleeper and need to be somewhere early Saturday or Sunday morning, this may be a bother to you. I usually don't get too disturbed by it, but I am pretty hard to wake up once I am asleep.
We are just a short walking distance from most everything, but there is a bus stop less than a block away if you are traveling around VT. The Greyhound and Megabus stops area is about 15-20 minutes walking.
* There is free street parking generally less than 5 Minutes walking from the house. However, if you arrive very late in the evening or early in the morning you may have to park a few blocks away, but it's still only a short walk in my opinion.
*Sweets and fruits are out next to the coffee. Eggs and yogurt are in the fridge, help yourself.
*Wifi password and network is on the fridge
* If you book super last minute, that is totally fine with me. However, I am very busy and have likely reserved my evening for studying so please don't take it personal if I am in my room or in the kitchen studying. Just come right in and make yourself comfortable. Also there is little that you can do that will annoy me so feel free to move anything around to make space, hop in the shower, use anything in the kitchen, and talk or listen to music freely whether I am home or not :-)
*There should be clean towels folded on the bathroom shelf, however if you book less than 24 hours in advance I will do my best to have all the towels laundered, but if you are staying during a high traffic period and guests have been there the night before I cannot guarantee this.
* Airbnb is a side thing for me, if you have a question or problems during your stay please please contact me and I will do everything to meet your needs. I keep the prices at least 20% cheaper than any available hostel and much cheaper than any hotel at all times in an effort to provide minimal accommodations for low key and/or budget travelers. I am just a student opening my living room to travelers.
Thank you for accommodating my last minute request for a place to stay in Burlington. Great location - every where I needed to go was within walking distance.
Exactly as described and in a great location. Thanks again.
The location is great! Church Street and the Waterfront are only a few minutes walk away! The futon is comfy, the flat is clean and the hosts are flexible and easy-going.
Amanda and Patrick were really great people...very friendly and helpful! The place was comfortable and in a great location, close to shops, the University, and anything you need. I love the coffee shop, Radio Bean, that they recommended right down the street. It was a great visit with good peeps and a nice place to sleep. Definitely recommend staying here :)
Hosts were very nice, bed was comfortable.
I had a great stay here! The location is great- I could walk to wherever I wanted to go. The place was clean and comfortable and just like the pictures. Patrick and Mandala were both busy, but they were very flexible, accommodating, hospitable, and kept in touch with me for my whole stay even though we barely saw each other. They even recommended places for me to visit while I was there. I would definitely stay here again.
Let me tell you, I couldn't have found a better place or better hosts in Burlington!
Mandala and Patrick were easy going, were accomodating to my late arrival, and let me come and go when I needed to.
As for the place itself, two short blocks from Church Street, and a block from 3 Needs? How sweet it is! Easy to walk to EVERYTHING downtown and bus stops are everywhere!
Definitely a repeat guest!
I had a great time with Mandala and Patrick. They are super busy on the go working students but they took time out to be warm and welcoming and did everything to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. I found I had a lot in common with them and enjoyed our short talks. The description fits the place perfectly. It is a small cozy little apartment but in a groovy part of town where everything is at your finger tips. :D
Patrick and Amanda were polite and quiet hosts. Their place is kept clean and is in a very central location, perfect for walking around town.
I made this booking last minute and was pleased that it was accepted
right away; they texted me the address, which is a little difficult to find if
you are not familiar with North Burlington streets, which are a lot of
one way wonky! It is in a funky student part of town, with bars and club
scene just steps away which I availed myself of and really enjoyed.
There was a warm greeting when I arrived and a very spacious apartment
with vaulted ceilings that reminded me of my own 1886 Mansion home.
It is very clean and the futon is comfortable; at this price privacy is minimal but I didn't even feel like I was invading their space (a couple)
Morning coffee was great as I caught up with work issues on their
Kyle from circa 1886 Mansion, Wash DC
