  • My group of 5 had a nice stay at Monteverde Villa Lodge. Dont expect anything very fancy. The beds were decent size and the rooms were clean. Although we didnt use the "kitchenette", it was there as an option. Every room (which was a cabin) was separated from each other, which was nice privacy. Everyone who stayed there in the Lodge was nice and the way the cabins are, it felt like a tiny neighborhood. There is a front grass area and a very convenient parking area. The location of the Villa Lodge was very convenient. About a 10 minute walk from town with many food options (although very touristy in my opinion). The lodge is also very convenient to all our reservations (ziplining (yes do it), midnight hike (yes do it) If you made reservations before hand, talk to the front desk. There is always options for them to pick you up, makes life so much easier and its free of charge. The people that work at the Lodge are extremely helpful. You want to make reservations, they will do all the work. Questions about food or the town area, no problem. Extremely friendly. Not the fancy place you may be looking for but nice helpful help and the convenience of location, I recommend staying here.

  • Nice place to stay but you have to know that Erick is not the owner of the house. So we thougt arriving in a Tico house, some kind of private place with the unhabitants... This is not true and the owner, Vera, is very nice but talking about a Belgium way of life in CR was not what we expected. The rooms are clean and some of them have a nice view even if the place if very very windy. About the rooms, we were told on the way vack of our first day that our bags were moved from a cool room with view to a poorer one, set on the parking. Not smart. The breakfast is long and late (8.30 am) when you want to see Poas or Irazu - 1h30 far - in the early morning or take an early flight. you have no choice than make your own coffea... And pay the breakfast by the way ! We argued to have some toasts on the third morning but it's quite unfair. Then, if you have your own car, it's cool, otherwise you may think that it is far from the interesting points and you have to deal by yourself with buses and taxis. That could be understood in a "real" tico guesthouse, not in this kind of b&b.

  • We had a wonderful experience here. It's a small, family run hotel and they go above and beyond in customer service. The rooms were comfortable and clean and we felt very safe.

I would definitely stay there again!

  • What a nice place Las Colinas was! The B&B had a wonderful view of the volcano. The included breakfast was pretty good, nothing amazing. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Great central location for exploring the area at very reasonable rates. Jose and Eduardo were wonderful hosts and quite knowledgeable about the area, providing information regarding the Cloud Reserve, various other tours and recommendations on dining. The morning breakfasts were plentiful and varied with lots of fruit, juices, fresh coffee and a different entree each day. Rooms were clean and comfortable, don't expect a TV and it was a bit noisy as at least four have adjoining walls in the building at the back of the motel complex. That said, we had a very pleasant experience, would recommend the lodge to anyone looking for clean, comfortable and inexpensive accommodations in the area.

  • Been to Arenal about 8 times. This is the best place I've stayed. Beautiful view, picture perfect cabinas, serene, great breakfast, helpful staff, and hassle-free. Very close to Tabacon thermal springs too. The steak restaurant across the road is great as well.

  • We had a great 2 day stay in Monteverde in late December. The owners took great care to advise us on restaurants, activities and were always available to assist us. Their restaurant recommendations were particularly outstanding as was their selection of a guide for the Cloud Forest hike. The room was very nice, clean and large. Coffee was always available in the dining room and it was a very comfortable place to hang out when not hiking the cloud forest, zip lining etc... Everyone spoke great English so we felt right at home. I would highly recommend this hotel for a future visit to the Monteverde area.
