Our Neighborhood and Why we Love it-
This neighborhood is one of the most notable and desirable. Ideally located to call home base when working in the city or visiting to explore the local attractions. Our clean, safe home is nestled conveniently between the 24/7 speedy Red line and Brown Addison train stops. The #9 (North and South) and the #152 (East and West) bus stops are at each end of our block.
Wrigley Field is just a short walk from our home and baseball fans enjoy free parking as our guest for game nites.
After dark when the "Loop" and downtown sites are desolate, enjoy the uniqueness of one of the best North side neighborhoods, Lakeview. Experience great restaurants, a plethora of bars, shop at our local stores all within walking distance at nearby Lincoln Avenue and Wrigleyville. Just 2 blocks away, check out the up and coming Southport Corridor and Music Box Theater.
The speedy train will have you to the steps of all area sites within minutes; such as Magnificient Mile for the shoppers, Museum Campus for those who wish to explore the Shedd Aquarium, Field and Science and Planetarium. Or if your wish is to wander Navy Pier or take in the beauty of Lake Shore Drive and the miles of lakefront bike paths, this is it.
The Bean, Millennium Park, Grant Park, Soldier Field, Navy Pier, Lincoln Park and the free Zoo all easy trips as are neighborhoods like Old Town for a visit to Second City, great restaurants and nightlife or trendy Bucktown and Wicker Park for shopping or food tours .
Nearby DePaul and Loyola make this a great stay for parent visits or temporary housing for college students on break or while awaiting permenant housing. Situated in a convenient location to all city and suburb hospitals for an easy commute if here for a medical internship or rotation.
Sleep peacefully-We are close enough to the "EL" for convenience but far enough that it is a distant if unnoticeable sound. Rest soundly in a comfy raised loft style bed or a cozy twin air mattress in a shared room for travelers or working guests. Afraid of heights? Ask for the spacious bed underneath the loft:)
Our place is a great option for those adventurous spirits looking to "live like a local" in a safe, clean and inexpensive pad while seeing the sites.
Share this convenient space with fellow travelers or meet other working guests in transition and moving to the area. Enjoy a wonderful breakfast to get your day started while hearing about other guests journeys. Wind down at the end of a long day of site seeing on one of 3 outdoor decks. Learn about where fellow travelers are from and where they are headed. Enjoy impromptu s'mores in the fire pit or a glass of wine with other guests and hosts.
We've got it all! Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Jewel Osco are just a couple of blocks. We provide Wifi, cable TV, parking, etc. We love hosting out of town guests and ensuring they have a great experience. We realize you are either on vacation or here for business and want you to feel right at home. Whatever we can do to make this a memorable trip, please let us know.
Be our guests! Be our guests! Be our guests :)

Thanks so much for choosing us and our home as your home away from home while visiting or working in Chicago:)
A great neighbourhood with easy access to all your Chicago needs, just a quick subway ride away to a great train that rides above ground so you can check out the area you're heading in.
Stephanie and Chris were also great. They filled me in on areas to check out while I was there (also because I really didn't have any plans) and great food places close in the area as well as how to get to places.
I would recommend their place to anyone I know heading to Chicago!
This was a nice stay. I booked a bed in the afternoon in a busy weekend. However, Chris and Stephanie still made a space for me. Thank them a lot.
My three friends and I stayed at Chris and Stephanie's place for five nights in mid-September. I have mixed feelings towards our stay. Over first part of our stay there was a big festival on in Chicago and several conferences so the house was pretty full. We were in the living room which had no door and connected to the kitchen and the other bedroom. For a few nights there were 12 people sleeping in the apartment (although it slept more!) and coming and going through our room at different times of the day/night, turning lights on and off so we slept really badly. It was like a hostel experience except we were sleeping in the thoroughfare where everybody walked to get to their room. We also shared one bathroom so often there was a huge wait.
For the final days of our stay we were the only people in the flat so it was great, as we had lots of privacy and didn't feel like we had to tiptoe around so as not to wake the family sleeping in the cupboard under the stairs (Harry Potter room!).
The area is lovely, quite residential and feels totally safe. We were a short walk away from supermarkets and transport connections. Great location!
We mostly talked to Stephanie when we were staying. She was 100% lovely and helpful, very attentive and gave us lots of great advice. She was the perfect hostess.
I would recommend this place during non-busy periods, otherwise I would say it felt like we were like sardines packed into a ridiculously small space! I cannot fault Chris and Stephanie as hosts, as they were fantastic - however it wasn't exactly the experience that I was expecting!
Great Value, Lovely Neighborhood.
Chris and Stephanie are awesome-- they are super helpful and accommodating. If you aren't familiar with the Chicago area, they can provide great advice to get you started on experiencing the city. The living is dorm style, which, if you are like me, is a great way to meet fellow travelers from all around the world.
The neighborhood is gorgeous. It's close enough to some of the trendier areas that you are just few bus stops away from an onslaught of bars, pubs, and eateries-- but far enough away that you can expect it to be very peaceful at night.
They have a couple of bathrooms and are very open about letting you use either one, so even on busy weekends or the morning rush you don't have to wait long to get into one. The place features a lovely kitchen with a slew of cookware if you like to cook for yourself.
Overall, I highly recommend looking into it whether you are here for an long weekend or an extended stay.
I stayed at Chris and Steph's house for 2 nights and had a great stay. They are really welcoming and happy to tell about Chicago and how you'll get around. I felt home immediately there! You will meet other people staying there and there is a great homy atmosphere. The beds are nice and there is everything you need.
And if you plan going - TWO DAYS ARE WAY TO LITTLE IN THIS GREAT CITY! - I could have spent a whole week there..

About the Host, Chris And Stephanie
Hello Fellow Traveler!
We welcome you to our Airbnb listing and appreciate that you wish to learn more about us as your potential hosts. We enjoy meeting new people and look forward to sharing with you what we love about Chicago:)
Why have we opened our home?
We arrived about 4 summers ago for a 3 day business trip, fell in love with Chicago and never left. This is our 4th summer! Since we are both adventurous spirits, with some trepidation, we tried this thing called "AirBNB". We had such a great experience because of our host; we thought we would pay it forward.
What has been our favorite experience hosting so far? Lollapalooza:)
Who are we?
Chris and I met in High School and reconnected on the site that begins with Face and ends with Book a couple of years ago. We think we have quite the love story that resulted in a proposal a few years back and would be happy to share it with you on one of your relaxing evenings on our deck or over a cup coffee while you are sorting out your travels for the day-but we promise not to bore you with it!
What are we doing here?
After we reunited, we had the amazing opportunity to become Environmental Stewards for a wonderful company that brought us to Chicago. One of our company's core values is to stimulate the local economy, find other Environmental Stewards like ourselves and train them for leadership roles. (Another great story if you are out of sorts from your trip and can't sleep one nite-and of course care to hear it:) )
What we think about ourselves as hosts?
We pride ourselves in being open and available hosts for a chat, a recommendation, throwing darts, a game of scrabble or an impromptu cook out or s'mores on the fire pit but we also completely respect your privacy and understand this is your trip. We only wish to ensure your travels are more than you would have hoped for thru spending time at our home and meeting other guests.
Where have we been?
Chris is an Army Brat and has lived all over the States and I have traveled around Europe while living in Madrid, Spain for 3 years.
Places Chris has lived:
He spent his youth in San Antonio, Hawaii, Denver, Colorado Springs and Maryland (the DC area). As an adult, he lived in Kansas City for a bit, he settled for many years in Norman, Oklahoma (if you've heard of it), Dallas/Ft. Worth, back to Maryland (to get me;)) and now Chicago.
Places Chris has traveled to:
Boston and other parts of Massachusetts in which he has tons of family and for our business, all over New Jersey (our company has a HUGE presence there and helped tremendously with the Hurricane Sandy clean up), many parts of PA (we really enjoyed our time in Pittsburgh), Philly a few times (best sandwiches we have found yet!) and many more.
Stephanie lived most of her life in the Maryland area traveling for work in the DC and Virginia areas but joining her friends on their business trips in the States to visit as many cities as possible. Of course, the fun-damentals like Las Vegas, Miami Beach (along with many other Florida cities that my family lives such as Ft. Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, Jacksonville) and NYC. More relaxing fun in Savannah, GA; Myrtle Beach, SC (where my mom has retired), Portland, OR, Phoenix, AZ (where my brother used to live), San Diego and Coronado (a couple of times since they are some of my favorite), Hawaii (to see the first grandchild in our family), L.A. (had the opportunity to cruise Monterey's 17 mile drive)...
Stephanie's European Travels: Of course many of the big cities like Paris (the food!), Munich (best airport ever!), Frankfurt, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Malaga, Bilbao, Gothenburg, Sweden (for a dear friends wedding), but also some off of the beaten path that became my very favorite memories like Morocco, Tunisia and more....
Places we will go: Brazil, Fiji, South America, Canada....
Our recent travels together: We recently finished an extended road trip and stayed at several Airbnb homes. Our travels took us first to Chris' families in Norman, Oklahoma onto Albuquerque; from there to Phoenix to our ultimate destination-San Felipe, Mexico where we booked 3 different homes one of which was exceptional. We included some side excursions to Coronado, California, Ensenada and Rosarito, Mexico where we stayed in an AMAZING home and had some fantastic food. On our return, we were fortunate enough to also stay in a Villa with OUTSTANDING views in Sedona, California.
