Welcome to our listing! At the Charlie Chaplin we aim to provide backpackers and international travellers with a welcoming accommodation that offers clean, comfortable dorms that can suit you for a short or long stay as our guests. We do not charge for lockers, towels, or linens, and we can accomodate up to 19 people so we'll be sure to find room for you!
Most importantly, we make sure that our guests have fun and our friendly staff are always there to advise you and ensure that you get the most out of your stay in London. All of the best tourist sights of this great city are just a quick walk away, such as Tower Bridge, The London Eye, Saint Paul's Cathedral and many more.
Because we own our own bar means you're just a few minutes away from a great party or you can choose to relax with other international guests.

We do not have 24 hour reception as we are a Hostel not a Hotel
Check in times are as follows:
Craig was very accommodating - even though we got stuck in customs longer than we expected, he allowed us to check in to the hostel around midnight, almost an hour after the bar closed. For the price, the living situation was expected - an average sized bedroom with 3 sets of bunk beds to sleep 6. However, the bathrooms could have been cleaner and there were no locks on the door. I think that's what threw us off the most. Our door didn't even shut all the way, so privacy was very limited. It wasn't a particularly bad experience, just not the best.
The Charlie Chaplin was a great hostel! It's in a great location basically attached to the train station and is within walking distance from the centre. Craig and the rest of the staff are really warm and friendly people and I would definitely stay there again if I come back to London! Thanks Craig! :)
The Hostel itself is in pretty poor condition, but the host and the people there were excellent, I can't really complain for the price and great location. I had a great few days, thanks Chris.
our stay at the charlie chaplin hostel was okay. craig and the other staff was very friendly and the hostel is well located. maybe the cleanliness could be better and unfortunatly there was no working heating system inside the rooms, so that´s why it was a bit cold.
at the floor between bar and hostel, there was a club! i think it is just open at weekends, but this was quite loud... but every people were friendly.
Even though I arrived two hours past check-in time (at 1:00am), Craig graciously welcomed me. The room was a bit chilly but I was the only one staying in the room with six beds so I simply borrowed a blanket from another bed and then I was just fine. The place is literally steps away from the Bakerloo line, which is very easy to connect from central London. Simple, clean, and super convenient place to crash while in London.
Craig was so chill, very easy to work with. We couldn't check into the room immediately, but he was kind enough to let us stow our luggage in a safe place. His bar had a very easygoing atmosphere, and was a great place to hang out. My companions and I aren't really into heavy drinking, but we felt comfortable nonetheless. Room was very clean, showers perfectly adequate, and there were clean sheets on the bed. The room did get a bit chilly that night, (I think the windows are only single pane) but so long as you get there early enough to snag a bed away from the window you should be fine. Also a fair amount of street noise, again due to the single pane, but we were so exhausted by the New Year's festivities we slept right through it. Not a bad place to crash for the night if you're planning a quick jaunt to London.
the good location, near from elephant&castle station. it's noisy at evening.
