We normally have at least 4-5 guests in the home at any one time ( max 7)...

Have your own privacy in your room and if you want you can interact with other guests when making their own dinners in the guest kitchen (supermarket 3 mins walk away) .
Many guests become good friends and explore Dublin, hang out in the evenings and sneek in a pint at weekends

We introduce you to the guests that are available at the time of your arrival and then explain everything you need to know for your stay .. for example ... where the bus stops are.... show you on a map where to get on/off ... how to get to main attractions in the city ... show you recommendations of pubs and restaurants...and advise you on the best attractions to see.

Guests are very thankful to have this vital information explained in detail to them and afterwards find it easy to get around dublin knowing this information

We offer LUXURY ROOMS that are big and clean with each room having their own TV (WITH 120 CHANNELS)

We respect the need for privacy ....
Our home provides guests with their own independence,
so our home is split with guests having their own private section of the house and our family having our own..

The Guests's section of our home has a new kitchen, bathroom and access to the front door...so guests can come and go as they please at any time day or night.

In this way our guests have more freedom and space than a typical home stay and you won't get that intrusion feeling staying in our home!

While having a young family with a busy lifestyle , we always find time to have quick chats with guests on how they are getting on and catch up when we see them .... and from time to time get together for a bbq / dinner / hot-tub party.

We are always available for great advice and help in any way we can

  • We decided to contact Austin about the room very last minute, but he was very accommodating even so. The family was very kind, and it was easy to go in and out of the house. I really recommend staying here if you want a cheap, nice, convenient place to stay.

  • This was our first time using airbnb and it was perfect! The house was well kept and our room was very spacious and cozy. Austin and Eva were very helpful with recommendations for what to see in the city. A quick 25 minutes ride on the number 9 bus brings you right into the city center. Full access to a small kitchen and grocery store a 5 minute walk away were very convenient. We highly recommend a stay here. Thanks Austin and Eva for a great experience in Dublin!

  • Very good place. Couple has 2 small boys, well behaved, and lives downstairs. Upstairs is for guests, as well as our own kitchen downstairs. We stayed 7 nights & really enjoyed our stay.

    June 2014
  • Good room as advertised and close to bust stop. Busses were easy to use. Austin was very helpful and provided plenty of information and advice. Austin's family was helpful and nice to talk to also.

  • Austin's house is located just outside Dublin's city center in a nice neighborhood. We arrived and met his wife. She showed us all of the amenities and gave us a helpful book with very clear directions on how to get to and from the city center via bus (about a 10-15 minute journey). As a result, we had no problems getting around town. We would recommend staying here.

  • Austin and Eva were excellent hosts. Their information for getting around Dublin from the airport was great. The facilities and breakfast were great.

  • Our stay at Austin's was simply GREAT. We had a wonderful time, the hosts were attentive, extremely nice and FUN. The house was beautiful, spacious and quiet, the room was perfect, and oh Lord, that hot tub... Splendid!

It was not in the middle of Temple Bar, but for us it was a great discovery, since every time we went to Dublin we tried to stay as close to the city center as possible. In Austin's house area there are plenty of amenities - we specially loved a pub nearby where they possibly serve the best food in Dublin.

We will be going to Dublin again for sure, and if we can, we are definitely returning to Austin's.

  • Great deal for a visit to Dublin! The electric blanket on the bed was a godsend and the room and shared bathroom were clean and tidy. The backyard space is accessible through the family's living quarters, but this place really does offer everything. Very basic supplies for breakfast are provided. The bus ride into town was maybe 20 minutes and was easy with stops nearby. Thanks for a great stay!

  • My girlfriend and me were for 2 days. Austin was very gently and has a pretty house with a nice jacuzzi. The house has HI-FI speakers with Radio in the bathroom and the kitchen. Nice WIFI signal. For breakfast he offers cereals, milk, eggs, bread of the day and you can use the kitchen for coocking. Really near to City center. We enjoy it a lot.

3 negatives things... kitchen was a little bit dirty and the room hitten i supose was broken because was always off and room smelt like wet and dusty... but i supose that was for the weather of Ireland.

    I recomend thiS B&B.

    Response from Austin:

As with all guests we do try to keep our standards very high .... we respect his thoughts on our home but want to clarify the negatives he mentioned .
After a txt response between borja and myself we have we have determined that due to the untidyness of another guest cooking that left the kitchen untidy was unfortunate on his first impression.. This was a rare incident as generally all guests would clean up after themselves and the kitchen would be let in a very clean state...
The heating was on at the time but unfortunately he missed the info given on the heating vent which was presented to himself during the tour
And Borja retracts the statement of the room being wet / dusty. We pride ourselves with this particular room and know it is not .
Our reputation as hosts can be seen by a 100% positive feedback response which we are proud of... so we needed to clarify these issues asap !!

  • Austin was awesome and sweet. When we arrived, he was in the middle of some DIY home improvements so the entranceway to his home was temporarily untidy. Understandable. He offers am amazing jacuzzi on his Tiki deck and though it was very clean, it definitely needed some filling as the main jets were spitting up over the water from the water level being too low. The bathroom is shared by all 3 rooms on the second level. It's just your average bathroom and it was tidy but lived-in. We are not sure whether the sheets in our room had been changed, only evidenced by some dark hairs/old stains as we lifted the comforter. However, the heating pad/blanket on the bed made up for that and on a cool/damp night it became very cozy! He has a separate kitchen set aside for his traveler guests along with a communal refrigerator. This is a nice touch! And it reminds me of a Hostel type of feel rather than a B & B. The accommodations are in Walkingstown, a suburb/town area which is about a 20-25 minute bus ride from downtown city centre...not too bad, and definitely why the accommodations are affordable. I could see younger travelers fitting in well, travelers that aren't high maintenance and can just flow. :)
