About this listing
Nice room in private flat, located at quiet area of Riga. Experiance staying in real local home to see how people live in Latvia.
I believe that traveling is not only for seeing places, but also for experiencing local culture by meeting local people. Therefore I am happy to offer guest room + breakfast in my apartment to people who share the same opinion, so we can meet each other and have good time together.
The room I offer is private bedroom in my apartment , where I live together with my son (born October, 2008) and my mother. There is one bed (120cm wide) in the room and a chair that can be transformed in bed.
You can use our kitchen and living room, of course. Also you are welcome to use washing machine, hair dryer and iron, if you need. Towels and shampoo will be provided for your use.
Every morning typical cold breakfast will be prepared for you in kitchen. Usually it consists of bread + cheese and sausages, cereals + milk or yogurt and some fruit. You can have also tea or coffee whenever you want.
The place is situated approx. 7km from city center and is very well connected with center by public transport - trolleybus stop is near to the house, it takes you directly to the center in about 20-30 minutes. It is nice and comparatively quite district of Riga, a forest is nearby which is good news for the ones who like to run.
WiFi available, there is also computer in the room.
Check in hours are flexible, however if you arrive working day at working time, it may happen that you have to self-check in (I explain you how to get to my place and leave the keys in postbox).
Guests will have access to kitchen and all other places in the flat, exept my and other guests rooms.
Interaction with Guests
I work full time, but I also really love to interact with my guests. So, it actually depends on guest - if you are at home in evening, I would love to drink a tea and chat with you. However it might happen, that I have to be away late and we do not have chance to do that.
It is nice and quiet district. There are forest nearby - good for running. Also there are small food shop nearbu and lovely wine drinking place.
Trolleybus and autobus stop is very near (3-5min). It operates regullary (every 7min in peak time, up to 20min in evenings and weekends).
A quiet room in a safe neighborhood, well connected by public transport to the City-Centre, a supermarket in walking-distance - if these are you needs , this is the right place for you.
Pobyt u Laury jsme si užili a můžeme ho doporučit každému, komu vyhovuje to, co je napsáno v popisu nabídky. Vše odpovídalo skutečnosti, Laura byla milá, příjemná, a ani ve vybavení bytu nám nic nechybělo. Takže ještě jednou děkujeme, a až zase pojedeme do Rigy, určitě se napřed podíváme, jestli má Laura volno.

Laura is a very personable host. I enjoyed talking with her. Her son is cute. The listing is accurate. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and about a 30 minute bus ride to downtown. The wifi is pretty good -- I could stream movies without much problem.
Laura was a wonderful host and her apartment was just as described--very comfortable. I stayed with my cousin and we had a great time bussing into Riga's Old Town and spending most of our time there (easy commute, about 20-25 minutes). Laura recommended we see Jurmala, a city on the Baltic Sea, so one day we took a train there (only about 30 minutes) and had a lovely time walking along the beach (buying a ticket is the hardest part--going to the main station in the city and reading directions, most of which are in Latvian, so ask Laura for tips if need be). The kitchen/bathroom/bedroom in Laura's place were all in good condition and we had no trouble. Laura would leave us bread, yogurt, cold cuts, and vegetables in the morning, and one morning made us pancakes, and we were free to make tea/coffee. We felt perfectly welcome and very happy with our stay! Thank you Laura!
We enjoyed our stay with Laura. She was warm and welcoming. Each morning there was plenty of help-yourself breakfast ingredients. Our bed room was five flights up stairs with no lift which may be a deterrent for some, but we considered it an exercise bonus considering how much we had been eating! The tram/bus line to old town Riga is steps away from Laura's apartment. It wasn't fancy, but clean, of good value, and Laura was very nice.
