We had an amazing stay at Liz and Tim's place! The setting cannot be beat, the place is very comfortable, and they are the most generous hosts. We cannot wait to come back and visit the valley again soon.
All great - great hosts, great room with amazing views, great "kushk" (sitting area). There's also a tasty breakfast and a great pool next door that you can use.
The area is full with stuff to do, great beaches and restaurants.
Liz and Tim were the perfect hosts, we would definitely recommend staying in their stunning villa! They were so so helpful and kind to us, and were always on hand to give us directions to local attractions like the cold water bay and ghost town, or to tell us about the wonderful local restaurants and hang-outs. Their villa is so homely and surrounded by a beautiful garden and mountains. The village of Kaya is brimming with charming places to eat, drink and listen to live music. It is incredibly tranquil and remote but it has very good public transport links to the local towns, so you really can have the best of both worlds! We had such an amazing holiday and we are already planning to come back and stay again!
What a wonderful home - and especially garden - Liz and Tim have created here. It's a magical setting overlooking the ghost town of Kaya, which was fascinating to wander around, especially during the evenings - one favourite memory is cycling into the town for dinner one evening as the sun set, on bikes kindly lent to us by our generous hosts. Liz and Tim are very knowledgeable on the area and can suggest some great local trips, the walk to Coldwater Bay being an absolute highlight. They were around when we needed assistance but left us in privacy otherwise, and we thoroughly enjoyed staying at their home.
Liz house is so romantic. My husband and I stay there 3 night. There are a lot of flowers around the house. It's too warmly. Liz and Tim are all kinds and give us a lot information about our daily trip. I really think kaya is pretty enough for couples and family to spend holidays. Thanks so much for these 3days. It's very a good memory in our life.
An absolutely gorgeous place to stay, with beautiful gardens and stunning views. The pictures don't do this place justice and two nights wasn't enough.
Despite being just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of the tourist resort areas of nearby beaches and modern towns you feel a million miles away and in another time and place altogether. After just an hour of arriving we had already drifted off to sleep in the afternoon sun.
Despite the place being so peaceful and quiet, there a surprising number of places to eat within walking distance or a short drive in the valley and the ghost town is within walking distance too. You can even continue walking on all the way through the hills and over to Olu Deniz within a couple of hours (about 8km). We loved the views a the top so much we walked back again to catch the sun setting rather than catch the bus. We only wish we had more time to explore more of the local mountains by bike and on foot.
Tim and Liz are very helpful and attentive hosts but there is plenty of space to have your own privacy too. The breakfasts were hearty with locally sourced ingredients and every care had been given to the smaller details making the stay feel like a top class hotel only with a much warmer, homely feel that you can only get with a bnb.
Liz and Tim's place would make a fantastic base for anyone wanting to explore the hills, coastline and history of the local area and beyond for any amount of time. Probably the best BnB we've stayed in!
We have just spent a wonderful six days at Liz and Tim's place. The location - in Kayakoy - is delightful, with views across the valley to the old abandoned village. The property itself is extremely comfortable - exactly as advertised, if not better. Breakfasts were both generous and delicious, And Liz and Tim are the perfect hosts - friendly, interesting and helpful, without being intrusive. Heartily recommended - five stars.
About the Host, Liz
Hello!..my name is Liz. My husband (Tim) and I purchased the property in 2007 following many visits and holidays in Turkey. I live here permanently now and Tim is here as often as is possible (based on his continuing work inthe UK).The valley is an amazing place and we love to share it with our visitors.
We chose the Kaya Valley as it is full of charm and beauty. It remains unspoilt and still retains a village feel that everyone loves. It is impossible not to fall in love with the place and its people -it really is the perfect location for exploring and there is something for everyone here. Some great beaches, stunning scenery and a wealth of activities on your doorstep.
We have a cottage that we rent and we have now developed this part of the house to offer an alternative for guests. Many visitors only want a room and breakfast .... with the occassional BBQ. We can do whatever suits you best.
We know that all guests value their privacy - and this is very private. However I am on hand to offer advice if required and to make sure that you get the most from your stay. Flexibility is the key for us - we will do our best to provide exactly what you want.
We love to walk, bike, swim ... generally be outdoors. This is a great location and, as we know the area really well, we can help you to arrange whatever you want to do.
This area suits people of all ages and is a real alternative to the usual holiday destinations.
