Part of a stone house that is set in a large, mature garden on the hillside overlooking the Kaya Valley. The room has its own private entrance and benefits from a luxury en-suite shower room. A large, private first floor level dining terrace with spectacular views over the valley towards the 'ghost town' of Karmylassos. The room is air-conditioned, has a refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. There is an adjacent room with its own large shower room that can accommodate additional guests. It has twin beds with the option of a third.
Access to a large swimming pool that is located adjacent to the property. Breakfast is included and arranged to suit the needs of the guests. The valley has a number of restaurants that are within walking distance of the property. The town of Fethiye is approx 15km and the resort of Olu Deniz also about 15km (both accessible by Dolmus). The local beach at Gemiler is approximately 7km. Keciler is a peaceful, rural village but with lots to do in the area.
If you are looking for something a bit different then this might be for you.
'The Valley' is a protected area due to its history and key sites of interest.
A rural setting but within easy access to the popular tourist resorts of Olu Deniz (with the famous 'Blue Lagoon') and Fethiye.
Located in the small village of Keciler, you will be able to explore the valley and all that it has to offer.
We have bikes that you are welcome to use ... but walking gets you to local shops and a wide variety of restaurants.
There is an excellent dolmus (bus) service that gives access to the beach as well as out to Fethiye or Olu Deniz. From Fethiye you can also use the buses to get to other areas such as Gocek, Sakklikent Gorge etc.
The area has lots to offer. Great walking, boat trips, quad biking, horse riding, paragliding etc. etc. As much ... or as little..... as you want to do.
Free internet access. Guests are welcome to use the washing machine.
If you want to cook then a BBQ on the terrace is lovely. We can provide all that you need ... and even do the washing up for you!
You will be amazed by the friendliness of everyone.
Liz & Tim were the ultimate B&B hosts! We were set up in their own beautiful bedroom/bath suite, having breakfast on a private deck with sweeping views with more food than we could eat. Their wandering garden paths have more butterflies than we saw in Butterfly Valley! They were available for check in about the extensive network of trails in the area or dalmus schedules, sharing maps and books, but left us privacy also. They were considerate and helpful, to the point of making certain we connected with the bus for our return to the airport. The community is very personable, easy going, and Liz & Tim are known and well-regarded by anyone we spoke with in the village. Can't think of anything that was lacking - and wish we could have stayed longer with them, and in the area. Congratulations on a wonderful setup, and thank you for helping enrich our time in Turkey. Barbara & Jon
We had a wondeful stay. Liz and Tim were great hosts. The room was very nice. It had a breathtaking view. We will definitely go back again.
Liz and Tim's place is magic and they are the most generous and delightful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Kaya is hauntingly beautiful. My only concern, as others have noted, is that after this the rest of our trip may pale by comparison. Can't recommend highly enough.
We had a really great time staying with Liz and Tim in the idyllic Kaya valley. The apartment and the balcony are decorated with such great love for detail and Liz provided us with the best breakfast every morning. We really appreciated all the great advice on what to see in the area that Liz and Time gave us. We’ve both missed the beautiful view over the valley already when we woke up to a grey and rainy day in Germany this morning. Thank you both for having us and making it a holiday, we won’t forget.
One of, if not the best Airbnb experience we've had so far! Firstly, Liz and Tim are just the most lovely people to be around and have a chat with. They really went above and beyond to create a fantastic experience for us (like the super late checkout and helping with our bags).
I think the best way to review this place will be to list the great features:
- Breakfast was plentiful and delicious
- Pool is beautiful and has the added benefit of being able to buy cold drinks because it's at the B&B next door.
- Area is so quiet and pretty and has access to a great walking track
- We were able to borrow the bikes at no cost
- Food options are good and within short walking distance
- Bathroom is very modern and the shower is amazing
- Bed and pillows were unreal, we had excellent sleeps!
If you've stumbled upon this place and are looking for somewhere quiet but still well connected, book it now, you won't be disappointed!
We stayed in many places during our 3 week trip to Turkey and Greece but our 5 night stay in Kayakoy with Liz and Tim was unsurpassed. In fact, I don't believe I have ever had a more wonderful stay in all my traveling days. The room, outdoor veranda and bathroom were spectacular! The attention to detail (crisp robes, plush towels, yummy snacks, lovely bedding, etc) was impressive. We enjoyed sumptuous breakfasts that Liz left in the refrigerator the previous evening, while enjoying breathtaking views of the valley from the veranda. There were also berries and figs for the picking around the house! Liz and Tim could not have been more helpful. It was like staying with family. On the first day, they picked us up at the bus station in Fethiye, helped my daughter replace her lens at an optical shop, arranged for a car rental, took us to a wonderful coffee shop by the sea, and oriented us to their unique and beautiful village. We enjoyed blissful meals at nearby Misafir Evi and a few other spots recommended by Liz and Tim. We had a terrific dinner with them and their cottage guests at home and another at their favorite restaurant, the Blue Butterfly. They were kind, gracious, funny and very helpful. They provided spot on tips and directions for our excursions to beaches, Saklikent Gorge, Tlos, and the "ghost village". The highlight of our stay (and perhaps our entire vacation) was an exhilarating 2 hour hike through the mountainside to the Blue Lagoon. We never would have been able to navigate this journey without Liz and Tim. Tim rose early on our last day to drive us (in our rental car) to the ferry port even though this meant he had to take a bus back home! Our next destination was Santorini. Though Santorini was beautiful, we both agreed that we really missed Liz and Tim and their magnificent home in Kayakoy. These beautiful memories will bring much happiness for all our days to come.
Kaya was such a beautiful place to stay. Liz and Tim were the perfect hosts and our room was faultless with a modern bathroom. The gorgeous terrace was the perfect place to see the sunrise over the mountains, enjoy breakfast or to just chill out and read a book. Equipped with a parasol, we were able to enjoy the wonderful views from the terrace sheltered from the sun. Kaya is the perfect location, we were able to enjoy the tranquility of the welcoming village yet still be close to the bigger towns and beaches, it really is the best of both worlds. Liz and Tim were great at giving us recommendations for places to eat and see and we were even able to enjoy a meal or two with them and their friends! There are an abundance of great restaurants in Kaya, majority offering free pick up and drop off services. However, Liz and Tim also have bikes to offer if you fancy a short bike ride in to the village. We are a young couple from London but we know that Liz and TIm's place is perfect for all ages and backgrounds as it has everything to offer. We wouldn't hesitate to return!
We had the loveliest stay at Tim and Liz's. They were two wonderful hosts, very considerate, polite and nice. Their house is one of the most beautiful houses in Kaya, and the place pleased us so much that we decided to stay one more night! I strongly recommend them +++
We had a great (but way too short) stay with Liz & Tim! They gave us a really warm and friendly welcome into their house and took great care of everything during our stay.
The room is very comfortable and luxurious and has its own private veranda from where you can enjoy the view or listen to the sounds of the valley. The Kaya-valley has many things to offer: different walking routes and bicycling opportunities, beautiful bays and views over the coastline and even though it is close to Fethiye and Olüdeniz, it feels 'off the beaten track'. We think it is the perfect holiday location and would highly recommend staying in the Kaya-valley with Liz & Tim! :-)
We enjoyed our stay at Liz and Tim's place a lot. If you're looking for a quite place to stay and get a local experience, this accomodation is perfect. Liz and Tim were very hospitable and helped us a lot with organizing the continuation of our further travels. We could see sheeps walking by from our terrace, and there are plenty of beautiful sites to visit in the direct area. Overall a good experience!
