Great location. Comfy, well-appointed house. Perfect for short-term stay for those who want to cook or have a large family. Shopping and parks in wAlking distance. Would definitely stay here again.
We were unable to stay because the heating system was not working in very cold winter weather. They got it repaired but I'd already had to make other arrangements. I got a 100% refund so would try again. Thank you, Jerry!
The location of Jerry's house is fabulous. It is a super easy 15 minute drive into the district (without traffic). You can walk to a shopping center with a grocery store and lots of other shopping options. Neighborhood is good- there is some cut through traffic on the street (including the bus) but it is relatively light and not bothersome. The house itself is a good value for the size and location. The interior is dated, but it does have a nice homey feel. Bathrooms and kitchen are vintage but functional. The linens were new and very nice. Basement is about ten to fifteen degrees cooler than upstairs.
We did have a problem with the AC the first day we were at the house. It was probably the hottest and most humid day of the (website hidden) was on but not working. We contacted Jerry who responded very quickly with advice that the coils on the AC freeze sometimes, and turning the unit off for a couple of hours usually resolves the problem. We left the unit off for about three hours, and when we turned it back on it was no better. Diahann (Jerry's sister) indicated that if it still wasn't working, she would call a repair man. We took her up on that offer, and shut the unit off. After about eight hours we heard a crashing noise which we later learned was the ice falling off the coils. Jerry's advice had been correct but in this situation we needed to wait much longer than a few hours to get results. Repair man came the next day and found the unit OK. We appreciated Jerry and Diahann working with us to fix the problem. It was pretty miserable until the AC was restored (which took only about 24 hours).
Jerry is excellent communicator. He sent a guy to mow the lawn the next day on my request. The house in very good location. 10 mins to the national park. Couple mins to a fresh market store. Everything is close by. The house it self is very good compare to its reasonable price. We had very good stay in there!

Thank you, Jerry and Diahann! I enjoyed my stay in your Alexandria home. It's in a good location and has all the amenities of home. Much more relaxing, to me anyway, than staying in a hotel!
What a great place to stay! Jerry and Diahann were great communicators, checking in to make sure things were good. The house was adorable and comfortable for the six adults staying there; we felt safe and snug in all of the various weather we had (70's, snow, rain). It was great to open the blinds in the morning, listen and watch the birds while we were having coffee, and see the bus drive by. Most often that was about the only traffic on the street! We rented a car as we were taking a few day trips so ended up driving to Pentagon City to park and hop the Metro most days. The bus did go by on a regular schedule but we didn't end up using it. The house was in great proximity to everything that we wanted to do. We stocked up at Costco and ate most of our meals at the house. The laundry room and two bathrooms were a big bonus. All six of us were able to take hot showers every morning, we can't even do that at home! A big thank you to Jerry and Diahann for offering such a great place!
