You can stroll to The Grove or the Walk of Fame...The Hop On/Hop Off Bus is a 10 minute walk...or check out the Hollywood Highland shopping center (enter on Highland), ride the Metro, catch the tourist sights, see the stars, groove on Sunset..walk Runyon Cyn to Mulholland or walk to Hlywd Blvd.and see the famous attractions 15-20 minutes on foot. Or get tickets to the Bill Mahr show, or get tickets to Jimmy Kimmel and walk over to see the countless TV shows nearby. Bowling late at night at Lucky Strike at Hollywood/Highland center. Or go to the Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theater for outdoor concerts in summer.
And then take the metro everywhere..downtown ..Universal City...San Diego...Santa Barbara ...take the metro at Hollywood Highland and Amtrak train to places of interest. Go online and check their schedules.
Walk and shop Melrose or check out the scene. Lots of Live Music and comedy venues (the Laugh Factory) within a 5-10 minute drive or walk, including movie theaters and stage shows.
Walk to the Directors Guild, where often there is some type of a film festival happening. And there are many hang outs and restaurants nearby that are open until 3 or 4 a.m. like Bosa Nova.
Walk 5 minutes to tennis courts, which are lighted for night playing , play basketball at Plummer Park...2 parks walking distance.
Check out the The Grove, Farmers Market, Beverly Center, Beverly Connection or Beverly HIlls, all within a 10-15 drive. The beach is a 35 minute drive with no traffic. Take the scenic route straight up (west) Sunset Blvd (but it will take longer to get there). Sunset takes u straight to the ocean and through Beverly Hills, Bel Air to UCLA to Brentwood, Pacific Palisades and then Will Rogers State Park and the Ocean.
Good transportation minutes away...in the heart of the action. But we recommend a car for Los Angeles.
The nice areas are in West Hollywood/Hollywood, west of Highland. Just to the immediate north are the famous Hollywood Hills, where many film and television stars live...some very close by...others a few blocks away
Personally, I prefer this area because it is very centrally located.
But the weather and attitude here are what sells the place. And the attitude here is very free and laid back, especially in this part of the city, which draws the most diverse and creative and international population.
Meet LA Confidential and Too Big to Fail director Curtis Hanson on a Runyon Canyon walk, as I did. Teri Hatcher lives near Runyon...Andrew Dice Clay's house is walking distance away. Scarlett Johannsen lives in New York now but owned a condo walking distance away. She is very petite.
And the celebrity sighting vans driving on Sunset are two blocks away.
And there is always a place to go for shopping or food or entertainment that is not expensive (and sometimes quite inexpensive) but still fun and cool. And that too is nearby. Like the In and Out Burger (simply the best burgers and cheap) on Sunset near La Brea, where I recommend the Neopolitan shake or the burger low carb style with lettuce instead of a bun...or the freshly made fries... Chipotle on Sunset, Zazou Chicken on Sunset, Aroma on Sunset, Bosa Nova on Sunset and many others.
If you don't mind a short drive, then try at $26 a person all you can eat Korean BBQ: Oo-Kook Korean BBQ Restaurant with unlimited prime, Kobe and Waygu beef--15-20 min drive. Or I'm told that Boiling Crab is very good in Koreatown but quite a wait.
Have Sushi, cheap or expensive within walking distance--Rock N Roll Sushi at 8000 Sunset Blvd. is walking distance.

Smoking is not allowed inside the unit but is OK on the patio that is part of the unit but only if the door is closed!!
There is a manager on the premises if there are any problems. And tandem parking for one car is included although there is also free street parking.
There is a gated door to enter the building and it has a keypad for entry. I feel very safe in this area and live a few blocks away... ...and have been known to walk around Sunset late at night. Any others questions, feel free to inquire.
Nothing is shared in the unit but there is a backyard that is a common area. And there is a new redwood deck in the backyard. And the coin operated laundry is in the back of the building and is shared. However, parking is tandem with the unit above you. It is one long space that fits two cars. It is shared in the sense that if one car is blocking the other, the blocking car must move to allow the other car to exit. This hasn't been much of a problem as most people are out sight seeing most of the time. There is also street parking.
Interaction with Guests
I WILL NOT BE PRESENT AT THE LISTING. You may or may not meet me depending on your schedule and mine. I don't like to impose on my guests and some people have a full itinerary.
There is no "meet-up" requirement to exchange keys. You can access and enter the place at your convenience (subject to check in and check out times) since we have a "keyless" system. This is most convenient since there is no waiting around to get in.
This is the very trendy West Hollywood area. You can walk to Sunset Blvd. and restaurants and clubs in two blocks or Hollywood Blvd in 4 blocks. You can walk to the Hollywood Blvd. Walk of Fame. You can walk to Santa Monica Blvd. in two blocks or Melrose Ave. in 4 blocks....provided of course that you like walking. You can also drive in a few minutes. Close to The Grove. This is a very central area in terms of access in addition to being very trendy. Metro at Hollywood and Highland.
You are across the street from the Spaulding Square Historic District with beautiful Craftsman homes. It's a lovely neighborhood and many films are shot here...so walk around, beginning at Spaulding Street to your left if you are facing Fountain...and walk up to Sunset.
Two blocks from public transportation. Or good cab service or use transportation apps like TaxiMagic or Uber or LYFT. There is tandem parking included.
Other Things to Note
Children are counted in terms of number of guests regardless of age.
Dirty dishes MUST be cleaned before departure. And place should be left tidy. (not clean but not a big mess)
Failure to clean dishes (or an extra dirty/messy apartment) will result in the cleaners charging me extra as the regular cleaning fee for cleaning is based on no dirty dishes to clean and normal use.
The house cleaners wash all the linens, and spend a lot of time doing the regular clean up. I pride myself on having good cleaners. But if they need to spend extra time cleaning up, they charge me and I pass that charge on. I rarely find this a problem however, as the majority of my guests are quite wonderful.
And read my reviews. I treat people like I would want to be treated. On the other hand, I have had the experience where people trashed the place. But that has been very rare. I am fortunate in having very nice guests and I let them know that as often as they let me know I was a good host. It's so important when first visiting a city to have a good interaction with the people there. And I would say, in general, that LA is a very friendly city.

Although we have a coin operated washing and dryer machine in the rear of the building , there is also a laundry service nearby that will do it for you and deliver. Go to directions on itinerary page for the code to the washer and dryer room.
Leave the place in the condition you found it. And please tidy up before you leave. Any dirty dishes must be washed prior to vacating the place.
May not have people stay or sleep over who are not listed on reservation or identified prior to check-in. Children of all ages count as guests so please list them.
At check-in please provide valid I.D. Manager on premises. Can help with advising about tourist attractions and restaurants. PLEASE LEAVE HEAT OR AIR CONDITIONING AND LIGHTS OFF WHEN YOU GO OUT FOR THE DAY...We value saving on energy and (email hidden) California has drought conditions.
Please DO NOT leave dirty dishes in dishwasher or on counter. Run dishes through the dishwasher using provided automatic dish pods so they are clean when housekeeping arrives.
One bath towel per person. If you use more, please wash and dry in washer and dryer in back of building.
This place has cable TV and a free phone where you may call free locally and nationally (not internationally). and there is a big selection--140 channels . If you have any issues technically,consult my house manual which will be on your confirmation and itinerary when you book. You can also disconnect from electrical plug, wait a few minutes and then reboot and see if that fixes any problem.
The WiFi network and password are listed in the House Manual. I also have all the apps on the TV Roku--Netflix, Amazon, YouTube so you can order movies and TV if you have an account with Amazon or Netflix or any of the other assorted apps.
Fans are operated by remote control in living room. And I leave a discount card (please remember to return it to the apartment) that saves you money on food and gas. It will be mentioned on house manual.
Exchange phone numbers with the unit directly above you. They share the tandem parking spot marked 3-7 . If you are blocked or they block you, it will be easy to call and have them move car. They are receiving the same instructions. There is also street parking. But read the signs! They tow and ticket in Los Angeles and West Hollywood if you don't follow what the signs say.
There is a manager across from you if there are any issues. And you have her phone number to call or text. Large SUVs will not fit into the tandem space. When parking first, park all the way down and stay within white lines. Please be courteous respectful of other tenants and the surrounding neighbors. It's a neighborhood. Across the street is Spaulding Square, a very lovely area with Craftsman houses that is a designated historical district.
Absolutely NO PETS.
Smoking is allowed on the balcony ONLY provided sliding door is closed. Some people are allergic to smoke. Smoking is also allowed outside or in backyard if no one complains.
There is a Ralph's Market open 24/7 a few blocks away with free parking. It's on Sunset Blvd and Fuller...a few blocks east of the building. If you can't find the card I've left (because someone forgot to return it) then ask for the discount card at the market...it is free and will save you 5 or 10% on groceries and up to 20% on gas.
I recommend downloading the WAZE application to your phone for map and navigation in addition to GMaps. I use tried and true G maps (I'm abbreviating) and Waze as a back up.
Plus a stop to enter the Hop On/Hop Off bus Hollywood is only a few blocks away-a ten minute walk.
For getting around transportation try the applications Uber or Lyft. There is also independent taxi. Most people like Uber.

The location was perfect for us and even though it's on a busy street there was no street noise. The busy street did keep us from using the parking but it was fairly easy to find street parking, especially for West Hollywood standards.

Our stay in LA couldn't have gone any better! Thanks to Denise for first off accommodating our early arrival as well as helpful recommendations of near by places to go to! The condo was in perfect location to everything we wanted to do. Our uber rides were less than 3 minutes to the nearest nightlife, food and shopping areas. The condo was clean and comfortable! The decor was beautiful! Made us both feel like we actually lived in LA! Just a helpful hint, the long mirror is behind the bedroom door! We found it our last day! Denise was a fabulous host. She was super responsive and helpful for all our needs! Will stay again in the future!

I am a dynamic and ebullient personality and just love meeting new and interesting people from around the world. I travel alot and therefore have an appreciation for what people like when they travel. I have also used airbnb before myself as a guest, once in Italy where it turned out great, and another time I tried to find something in New York City where there was nothing that was suitable for my needs. Therefore, it's important to me that guests have a good experience and find something close to what they are looking for at the right price. I believe these places offer that.
When I travel, it is critical to me that I have comfortable beds and big beds. So in these units, the beds are high end and very comfortable. You can tell from the reviews what people think. I also believe environment is important so these places all have redwood decks...something unique, I believe...and modern furnishings. I also like to be walking distance to restaurants and sights and clubs....that's tough to do in LA, but these places definitely offer that too. And vibe. Ultimately, I want to stay in a place like these places...but don't often find them in other countries. And hearing how happy people are is a real high. I have a lot of faith in people...and by and large am rarely disappointed. If only the people I've met were running the world......!!
