This is the proverbial "house on the hill" -- located in Majorna, just 500 meters from Slottskogen ("Castle Park"). Near tram stop to the city center. Extremely charming area.

PRIVATE ROOMS AVAILABLE:
1) One large queen sized bedroom with a view -- the rooftops of Majorna below, perfect for couples.

2) A second bedroom with a minimalist, Zen-like sleeping mattress on the floor for adventurers and bohemian types.

This is an attic apartment that feels like a tree house!

It is a quaint and charming, fairytale-esque cottage.

Perfect for anyone with a whimsical streak, or for those here for the Way Out West festival, and anyone who just wants an authentic Gothenburg experience and a chance to see the sights and get a glimpse of what it's like to actually live here.

:-) SLEEP IN AS LATE AS YOU WANT :-)

A very quiet neighborhood. The view from this house is quite nearly the highest point of old Majorna, the area historically known as the harbor and fisherman's district -- later revitalized and populated also by the artists of Gothenburg's emerging cultural scene.

  • Alex was a great host!

  • Thank you for a wonderful stay! I was in Gøteborg on a job trip, with a very busy schedule, but Alex took the time to show me a bit around town and give all those little tips about where to find things that are invaluable when you visit a new town. His flat is very nice and homely, in a quiet yet central part of town. Warmly recommended!

  • Alex was very pleasant and helpful. The place was nice and easy to get to tram for short ride down town.

  • Alexander's place is located close to downtown Gothenburg (~20 minutes by public transportation). While his neighborhood is not the most scenic area in town, there are a few decent restaurants and cafes nearby that are very convenient, including a mediterranean place with tasty and very cheap (35 SEK) shawarma. There is a quite pretty grassy garden and playground just outside the apartment to eat or lounge in. Alexander was very hospitable and invited us to go out with him and his friends to a lake picnic as the weather was quite sunny for Sweden.

  • Alex was a very gracious host! On my first night in town, he took me to a few of the neighborhoods he liked for a pint and to help me get the lay of the land. Afterward, he wasn't around the apartment much, so I had the place to myself. The room was spacy, clean, and comfortable, although, as someone else noted, the mattress is on the floor. That was fine for me, but someone like my mom wouldn't like that because of her creaky knees. There isn't a lot in the immediate area of the apartment, but the tram stop is very close, and the trams run regularly until very late, so this was never an issue for me. It's a quick ride into town.

  • Alexander is a great host and a fun-loving person who will give you plenty of insight into what to do in Goteborg. I was lucky enough to hit the town with him and some friends, and we had a blast.

  • Alex is a very hospitable host, he was welcoming and took me out to experience Gothenburg nightlife. the room was spacious and comfortable.

however, I should note that while this property is one stop from central station it is the longest stop on the tram network and takes 10-15 minutes to reach town (not walkable).

  • My stay with Alex was very pleasant. He is a friendly, sociable host who has a lot of information to offer about life in Sweden. The room I stayed in was the bedroom with a door. Be aware that if you are staying in the larger room, that there is only a curtain as a door. This might be absolutely fine for you, however I just thought I would mention it for those people who need more privacy. All in all, a great stay made even more pleasant by an enthusiastic host.
