I had a great time staying with Robert & Romina! I had to spend the weekend in LA for work, and staying at Valdivia was the perfect option. The neighborhood is quiet and tranquil. I just wish I had packed a swimming suit since the pool is available! I highly recommend this option to anyone looking for a comfortable and quiet place to stay.
I'm very glad and happy with my 3-week stay in Robert and Romina house. As they are very nice and kind people, also, I felt I was home and confortable, cause they are very family and everything that I needed, they were there to help me (and their dog Earnie, is so sweet and cute!!).
If you need to use public transportation, the bus is very close, you only will need to cross the street. I used the bus Foothill line during my stay and it was perfect (and cheap - 1.25 USD - the buses are clean, confortable and have air cond).
Also, you can go by walking to the shopping mall, and there you can easily find some supermarkets or some other nice stores.
I strongly recommend this room, it was very clean and fair enought for a single person, if you are looking forward to have a nice experience and to get a good best cost-benefit, you should stay here.
Thank you for all, Robert and Romina :-)
The room was very clean and comfortable. Romina was a pleasant host and flexible with my schedule. I would recommend the room to others.
It was such a pleasure stay and meeting both Romina and Robert. Would recommend others.
Robert and Romina were very warm and welcoming and made me feel right at home immediately. I am extremely thankful for them accepting a last minute reservation with a late check-in.
Covina is a beautiful quiet area with a nice selection of restaurants and shopping. The room was quite comfy with a nice amount of privacy.
Robert and Romina, thanks so much for being such gracious hosts. The bed was so comfortable, the fan helped cool me off as I fell asleep, the wifi was impeccable, and the number of channels on the satellite television gave me access to shows I could not find on the Internet or on my over-the-air broadcast antenna tv back home. For those that might be considering staying here, please keep in mind that Romina has a full and busy life, just like you may have, and while there is no guarantee that every night during your stay she will be home to have dinner ready or that she will be able to prepare every meal, for most nights during my 12 night stay, I was able to live a life so different from my routine. I loved being able to have someone (more often two people) to converse with over dinner (usually I eat alone), I loved not having to worry about cooking or what I was going to do for food when I came home from a long day out, and frankly, I loved the chance to relive what it was like before I left my parents' home for college. Robert and Romina made it possible for me to disrupt my normal pattern, so that I went to sleep earlier and woke up earlier than I am accustomed to, which gave me more daylight hours during my waking day, which was refreshing and a welcome change of pace. I am a confirmed city dweller, and I got to experience a part of Southern California that I was not familiar with at all; basically Covina is a city that is one-tenth the size of my city (Oakland).
Robert & Romina LaBerteaux and warm and generous hosts. When they couldn't be present when I arrived, they made arrangements for me to get a key. The room and bathroom were quite small (hence the 4 star rating), but they were clean; and there was space to hang clothes and store luggage. I also bonded with their little dog. The price is amazing. I will stay with them again if I am visiting (website hidden).
