If you're interested in living in a building full of century old details, wooden floors, a new kitchen and bathroom, new heating system and boiling hot water on immediate demand, then look no further!
The wonderful building is centrally located in Copenhagen City. Built in 1737 and restored since, this building is completely protected by the Danish State, and has many details traceable back to the original builders.
On (website hidden) Maps check out the street: Møntergade, 1116 Copenhagen. It's impossible to reside any closer to the centre of Copenhagen.
The apartment takes up the entire second and fourth floor, and contains:
* A main bedroom (email hidden) double-bed, and a bunk bed (each mattress 90 x 200 cm),
* Two sitting rooms, where one of them doubles as a bedroom when you're ready to sleep,
* Full bathroom

* A terrace for 6, and a WEBER grill!
This beautiful and spacious apartment comfortably hosts 6 guest and the accommodation goes to 12 guests. If you're more that 8 guests, you'll need to be comfortable with living and sleeping CLOSE to each other. Although you have a good solid bed each, and each have towels, you'll be packed in close together. Just so you know!
The apartment contains all modern facilities to make your stay pleasant and easy going.
Full bedding, sheets, linen, two towels and a set of keys is provided for EACH guest.
HOW ARE THE BEDS SET UP?
We have a main bedroom on the 4th floor with a double bed (180x200cm) and that will fit further two or three mattress, each 90x200cm
Then, there are two living rooms that double as bedrooms, each able to fit 2 mattresses of the same size (90x200cm) and then there are two couches of 90x200cm as well.
When you place your reservation with us, please specify which beds you would like made ready for you, and if you need the movable mattresses, which rooms they should be in.

The apartment is a 100% non-smoking apartment. In all, mature and responsible guests will be preferred.
HOW DO HOST AND GUESTS INTERACT?
Once you have placed your booking, and you have informed me of your arrival time to Copenhagen and let me know how you'd like the beds set up, I will then e-mail you with details instructions on how to get to the apartment.
DURING YOUR STAY:
I will always be online and around, as will my two friends Kristian and Gavin. In all, we've got your back :-)
If you choose to reside at my apartment, you will be living in what's known as the Middle Ages part of Copenhagen. This area was developed in the era (phone number hidden), and was still inside the old walls of protective moats of Copenhagen.
Within 5 minutes walk of the address you find: Copenhagen's central walking streets, The Kings Garden, The Kings Square, Nyhavn, the harbour, Tivoli, The Royal Theatre, and much much more. The quiet one way offers space for parking a rental car or bikes.
Although Copenhagen's main train station is the largest, the nearby Nørreport Station is in fact Denmark's most visited. The connections to and from Møntergade are absolutely fantastic.
Regarding (parking) a car: The parking just outside the building can be quite expensive. If you park on Borgergade or Adelgade you can save a lot of money. I'll provide you with all the links to parking guides upon request.
Regarding bikes, if you try entering this phrase into a search engine "rent a bike in Copenhagen" you'll find many good outlets close by.
Since I receive the same questions quite often, to make your life easier and faster here are answers to the questions that I'm frequently asked:
IS IT NEAR THE CITY CENTER? YES!
You are a stone's throw from e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. except empty fields :-)
IS IT AVAILABLE? YES!
If the AirBNB Calendar shows the place as Available then you can book immediately without needing to ask me first. I have activated "Instant Booking" for the same reason.
WILL YOU GIVE A DISCOUNT? NO!
I have set the prices at a fair level. I do often put offers in the calendar, so keep an eye open.
IS THERE REALLY SPACE FOR 12? YES!
Look, the apartment is from 1773. The more guests you are, the closer you'll be sleeping to each other. Also, your skills at negotiation will be tested regarding the bathroom. But, having said that, you'll be living s.m.a.c.k. in the middle of Copenhagen for a fraction of the price that a hotel costs.
DO YOU HAVE MULTIPLE LISTINGS? YES!
Check my profile for the other apartments. If you'd like to rent several apartments at the same time, I WILL give a discount on the second booking. Get in touch with me, and we'll figure it out.
WHEN CAN I CHECK IN? IT DEPENDS!
Generally, you and I will find a good check-in time. If other guests are checking out the same day you check in, I won't be able to offer a check in prior to 1430. BUT; you will be able to access the corridor to dump your suitcases etc. (between 1200 and 1430). All check-outs are at or prior to 12.00.
Please, during booking, we need you to tell us your times of arrival in advance so we can get organized with preparing the place.
WHAT'S THE TOTAL COST? THE ONE CALCULATED HERE BY AIRBNB.
The price is a little hard for me to calculate precisely, as AirBNB add a variable fee during the booking process. I suggest you simply enter the amount of nights and persons, and AirBNB will give you the total price. There are no added costs beyond that.
HOW DO I PAY? TO AIRBNB.
The Payment Method is the one that you prefer paying directly to AirBNB (as an intermediary).
CAN I CHANGE MY BOOKING AFTER I HAVE PLACED IT? YES!
You are welcome to tack on, or remove, the amount of nights you're staying, and you are welcome to adjust the amount of guests as you wish. To do so, follow these guidelines: https://www.airbnb.com/help/question/50
DO YOU SUPPLY BEDDING? YES!
Each guest gets a full bed, with pillow, duvet, bed linen, two towels and their own set of keys to the building.
CAN WE COOK THERE? YES!
The kitchen is fully equipped, has everything you need.
DO YOU HAVE WIFI? YES!
You have free and unlimited Internet. A very fast 30/4 wifi network!
DO YOU HAVE A TV? YES!
I have a large flat-screen TV that you can hook all kinds of devices to. I do not supply cable TV or satellite TV.
DO YOU HAVE A STEREO SYSTEM? YES!
There is an amplifier in the TV room, which allows you to connect to the system if you wish to hear music. Because the building is old, sound travels well. In order to not disturb the neighbours, please keep the music down and really low after 2200.
AM I THE ONLY ONE IN THE HOUSE? YES!
The apartment is all for you; you don't have to share it with anyone else!
MAY I BRING EXTRA GUESTS FOR A FEW NIGHTS? YES!
Just let me know beforehand, and we'll set things up for you. The AirBNB system cannot handle a variety of guests for the stay, so for the extra guests I ask a flat-fee of 35 EUR / 275 DKK per guest, per night, payable at your check in.
HOW MANY BEDS ARE THERE?
There is a double bed in the main bedroom (160x200 cm) and a bunk bed (90x200) In the other bedroom there are two other bunk beds (90x200). Finally there are three mattresses that trundle out and can move anywhere, each 90x200 cm.
ARE THERE MANY SHOPS AROUND? YES.
The location of the house has all kinds of shops you need right next-door: many groceries, supermarkets, cafes, clothes' shops, pubs/bars, etc... I'll supply you with a (website hidden) Map that contains directions to everything locally.
CAN YOU RECOMMEND ANY RESTAURANTS? YES!
Once you've booked, and upon request, I'll supply you with a good link to restaurants in Copenhagen.
IS THERE FREE PARKING FOR OUR CAR? NO!
Regarding (parking) a car: The parking just outside the building can be quite expensive. If you park on Borgergade or Adelgade you can save a lot of money.
MAY WE SMOKE IN THE APARTMENT? NO!
Since the building is really old, smoking is not allowed. You are allowed to smoke on the terrace.
Mark was a very pleasant host with everything under control. The apartment is nice and the location is excellent. I give Mark and his apartment my best recommendation.
Stayed one night with six people and six bicycles (kept securely in the courtyard).
A lovely flat, nicely kept with a great balcony and well equipped kitchen. Nice to arrive with all the beds made up as requested.
I can't recommend staying at Mark's place enough. I lived in Copenhagen for a couple years some time ago, and I only could have dreamed of living in a place half as perfect as Mark's. The location is outstanding, just minutes away from Kongens Nytorv, and the apartment itself was perfect. The two floors gave us all a ton of room and the terrace was the definition of "hyggelig"
Mark was an absolute pleasure to work with as well. He was incredibly thorough and made the entire process, from booking, to check-in, to check out, a breeze. I can't wait to get back to Copenhagen, and if I do, I won't think twice about staying at Mark's place again.
We hired the apartment for 24 hours in June. We were five people.
It was a lovely apartment in a perfect surrounding. It was located in a quiet street but just in the very centre of Copenhagen. It was the perfect place to discover Copenhagen from. The apartment was exactly as described on airbnb. Very nice! The breakfast in the sun on the terrace was a perfect moment.
Many thanks to Mark! We were in Mark's apartment with 7 people for 3 days. The apartment is very modern, clean and well equipped. The location couldn't be better!! Very central to everything in Copenhagen! Communication is really perfect! From our point of view the apartment is perfect if you are not more than 6 or 7 people as there is only 1 small bathroom and in total 3 living/bed rooms. To be improved: The shower cabin should be free of mould. To sum up, we really enjoyed the stay in Mark's apartment!! I do recommend it.
This was a very nice, well-located apartment in Copenhagen. It's close to good restaurants, shopping and attractions. I visited with my husband and two sons (9 and 12) and found it to be a very easy place to be (not really loud at night even though it's in the center of the old city) and the accommodations were pretty close to ideal. The kitchen is well appointed, though small and the bathroom is fine especially given the place was built in the late 1700's!. There is a loft bedroom with lots of space, a living room/dining room along with a separate room for the TV (the kids slept in there). In addition, Mark is very helpful, providing us with a map of the local area with a grocery store and other important items marked in. (Our second favorite coffee shop is on the list along with some other great finds.) One issue is the window covers. Being in Copenhagen in the summer means there is a lot of sunlight - the sun rises around 4 or so. Fortunately everyone was exhausted enough that sleeping with some light was not an issue for us. Apparently, this is being dealt with soon since better window covers have been ordered. Another possible drawback is that there are stairs to go up to the third floor with no elevator, but we didn't find that to be an issue at all. If you have mobility issues, the stairs are not entirely level, so be advised.
To wrap up, we had a great time in Copenhagen and found this to be a lovely apartment that was well-situated. Under similar circumstances (traveling to Copenhagen with my family), I would be happy to rent it again. Thank you Mark, Gavin and Kristian!
Mark was a very experienced host. The place was perfect for what we needed. Central location, clean, and lovely interior. Couldn't imagine having more than 6 in there though with one bathroom! We did have to bring our own synthetic bedding (non down) which wasn't overly convenient. But overall I would recommend Mark's place to any group looking for somewhere nice stay in copenhagen. Thank you!
My husband, my teenage grandson, and I stayed at Mark's for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it! We didn't meet Mark, but he was well represented by Christian, who lived in the building and gave us an orientation tour, as well as answered all of our questions during our stay.
The apartment is clean and tidy and has all the conveniences. Mark's eclectic book collection was appreciated by my grandson. The smoking porch was much enjoyed by my husband. The location is great, you can walk to almost anywhere in central Copenhagen. We loved the nearby restaurants, especially PS and Madclubben. The huge palace park has to be one of the prettiest parks in Europe and is just 2 short blocks away!
All in all, it was a great experience and I totally recommend it!
A very pleasant apartment, centrally located, and very much as described. I would definitely stay there again.
Marks apartment was absolutely perfect for our Family of 5. Centrally located in the heart of Copenhagen.. Clean and welcoming apartment. missed better ventilation in the bathroom. Mark gave us all the information for a pleasant stay!
