  • Gorgeous, spacious, quiet house in a lovely area, very convenient to the Metro, a Capital Bikeshare station (even closer than the Metro!), Rock Creek Park, and multiple dining options. (I highly recommend the Open City Coffeehouse-Diner-Bar as a morning option!) My stay at Sarah's was as comfortable and pleasant as I could have hoped for it to be. And I should add: their dog, Buddy, is the calmest, sweetest pooch I've ever met.

  • Sarah and Jim are very kind, friendly and helpful. Sarah agreed to meet my request to stay an extra night when I emailed her. Jim was polite and responsive. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable, in a very nice neighborhood, with beautiful view; close to metro and good restaurants. The room is big, and warm, with coffee, tea, wine and a few magazines. Wifi worked well. The shower was clean. Dog Buddy was sweet and quiet. I was so glad to stay there and enjoyed my time in DC. Thank Sarah and Jim for everything!

  • Sarah is really nice and willing to help. Her house is pretty and is located in a beautiful neighborhood. It's very close to the metro station (5 mins walk) and you have a lot of restaurants and coffee places in the surrounding area. It's one metro station away from Dupont Circle and two from downtown. It's very convenient and Sarah is a great host.

  • It was a pure pleasure to stay with Sarah and her family in Adams Morgan. The house is very charming with all its art work and wooden floors; the room was very cosy with the windows towards the park. Sarah and her family were more than welcoming while giving me all the space one might need. Every question or request of mine was met with the utmost generosity. And this, although Sarah meets very many people staying with her in the course of a month. She seemed to make no differnce whether you stay a night or two or longer. I lived there for almost a month and we had several very interesting discussions - both intellectually and on the everyday - and I will think about some of them for some time. Whenever I will come back to DC, I hope to stay there again.

  • I moved to DC and decided to stay at Sarah and Jim Toms’ place for the first days while looking for an apartment. It was such a good decision - Sarah and Jim Tom are very kind and great hosts and their house was a perfect place to relax after a long apartment-hunt. The house is very charming and spacious and located in a quiet, residential area. It was easy to get around either by public transport or walking - cafés, restaurants and supermarkets are just a short walk away. The room was very comfy; tea, wine and chocolate were provided in the room as well, so that it was even homier, as well as towels and a small fridge, which was also very convenient. Before arriving the communication on how to get to the house etc was really good and did not leave open any questions. I also got a lot of helpful DC tips and recommendations! Thank you for your hospitality!

  • Sarah and Jim Tom were great hosts! Their place was within 10 minutes of the subway and Marriott/Omni hotels where my conference was, as well as being close to the Adams Morgan area. My conference kept me busy, but the shower was clean and the bed was comfortable! I'd stay there again if I needed to.

  • Sarah was very accommodating and I loved her place and her family. Her dog was not a great watchdog, but welcomed us with wagging tail and helped us get settled in. My daughter stayed the first night rather unexpectedly, and Sarah got me an extra mattress and bedding in a flash. Such a darling neighborhood, and very safe at the end of a block by a sweet park. Parking was easy and in all I felt so comfortable there. I will definitely stay with Sarah and her family again.
