Thank you for the hospitality that Sarah and her family provides. The environment is beautiful and quiet, except occasional birds' songs in the Rock Creek Park.
The room was cozy and clean, and guests have free access to washer/drier in the basement.
The only problem I found was that sometimes it is difficult to contact owners.
I really enjoyed staying with Sarah. The house was about a 5 min walk from the metro which made getting around really easy. While I did not have much time to visit with the events I had scheduled, Sarah and her family were really nice and incredibly helpful with advice and recommendations.
Dear Sarah and JT! thank you for all of your hospitality and wonderful hosting there ! Location is perfect with lots of great rester-aunt and room are nice , and it's in the woods so the air are very fresh! Thank u
Perfect for my needs. In town for a flute convention at the local Marriott, needed a reasonably priced place to crash. Within walking distance of not only the hotel, but many great restaurants. Able to come and go as I pleased without disturbing anyone (some nights I was late). She also provided some snacks, a bottle of wine which I unfortunately had no time for, various teas & coffee right in my room. Everything was clean and neat. Oh, and peaceful. There are other rooms, but because of the thickness of the doors and the placement of the rooms, noise wasn't an issue. Highly recommended.
Sarah and Jim Tom are always wonderful hosts. This was my second long-term stay in their home, though I stayed in a different room. I loved my last stay so much I had to come back.
This room is perfect if you're looking for a place to stay that feels like a home away from home. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood but is a short walk to almost anything you'd want to do in DC.
I have visited DC several times during the past few years while my daughter was in school. She has decided to stay in DC, and so I guess I'll be returning and I hope the room in Sarah's house is available! I loved every second I was there. The Welcome letter made it very easy to find the house and fill me in on everything I needed to know.
I loved the house! Art, books, vintage furniture everywhere! Lots of color. Every room was a new adventure! The house and room were clean and the bed was comfortable. The hot water in the shower arrived in a timely manner in the clean bathroom. The A/C was great for the sticky DC nights!!!!!
Great location. A couple blocks from the Metro and a few steps from the bus. The house is situated at the end of the street and borders a beautiful green space. Beautiful!!
I'll be back.
