Sean and Dang were amazingly hospitable, friendly, and accomodating. When we arrived, they made us feel like we could relax, kick back and enjoy the ocean view. Sean is a great conversationalist and bartender as well as concierge and pool shark! Dang is an amazing cook and so sweet. Her traditional thai is amazing. The bungalows are great a couple. This place is a must visit for those wanting to relax in a laid back environment and get away from the crowds. Small and homey feel. If you need a scooter, Sean will help you get one for around 200 baht/day. He will also pick you up from airport if you need. Just ask! We will be back sometime!
White pearl is an absolute Gem in Koh Samui. The best part of the stay was Sean. He made us feel very welcome and assisted our crazy bunch with arrangements and directed is in the right way. We made some great friends via Sean. His food is awesome and his facility great. I would recommend it to anyone to consider Sean's place for your next stay.
One word: AMAZING
Sean's little paradise, called "The White Pearl Beach" is located in the northern part of Ko Samui, in a little village called "Bang Po". You'll find 6 cozy Bungalows (A/C,fridge,warm shower,tv,comfy bed, very clean, although on the beach) 3 directly on the beach & 3 right behin them, a restaurant/bar/chillout area, where you can get anything you need for a unforgettable stay.
Sean and his wife Dang are always there for you, providing you with very, very delicious Thai-Food as well as Western food for a reasonable price! After a few days, we got the feeling of coming home everyday. The location is a little bit off the humble in Chaweng & Lamai, which was exactly what we were looking for. Rent a motorbike, so you're independent (just ask Sean, he will provide you with any information needed)
The place is perfect for couples & young traveller groups, as well as for a family, due to the fact, that Sean can cope with nearly any kind of person & loves kids!
Just grab a beer and get to know this place & people, you won't regret it!
Fantastic time in Samui! Staying at the White Pearl was a great decision which contributed significantly to our enjoyment and comfort throughout the holiday.
The place is located right on the beach and in a really peaceful and quiet part of the island. If you stay here I recommend that you rent a bike or a car so that you have more freedom to travel around the island. Fortunately, a bike was sorted out for us almost immediately and Sean gave us some very good advice and suggestions for places to visit.
Sean is a chilled out, warm and welcoming host and he cooks some seriously delicious crab! He took us out for a few drinks at his friends place the first night which made us feel very welcome! It's a shame we weren't there longer and had more time to hang out, but there is just so much to see in Samui and not enough time.
As for the room, no complains, it was cute and cosy and we really appreciated the fact that it was cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Waking up to the sound of the waves every morning was really great!
Sean's place was EXACTLY what we were looking for. I wanted simple, clean bungalows on a quiet beach near good food and good massages. The food at the restaurant was some of my favorite during the whole trip and I loved being able to just walk along the beach for other meals. This stretch of the island feels like old Thailand to me, with little to no feel of the touristy vibe.
Sean wasn't actually around the night we stayed but the Thai lady who worked at the bungalows was very kind and helpful. Sean also helped us out when the airline lost our bags and couldn't find the place to deliver to by talking to them on the phone.
The actual bungalow was fine, beach was nice but the road outside spoils it a bit. However it was very quiet the night we stayed and the local staff locked up and went home at 7pm which wasn't ideal. It was fine for the one night stopover but I wouldn't have chosen to stay any longer.
Sean is a very good host. He tried to set us up with good trips according to our interests, and found us a very good thai massage. Pupay is an amazing host as well, heading his staff and bar at all hours. She went out of her way to make us the thai rice soup when we weren't feeling well, and we are so grateful for that.
It's peaceful and beautiful at this location. The beach isn't for swimming, but you can certainly wade in and soak a bit when the tide is in. Waking up to the beautiful sunrise and seeing locals walking on the beach is one of the bigger highlights here. There's not much variety in food here, but there is a good street food stall open early for breakfast about 7 minutes walking, and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The song-teow trucks are rather expensive, making it difficult to see the rest if the island without paying for full tours or excessive fees for transport.
I'd say the accommodations are rustic bungalows. The bed was not comfortable, as thai beds go. The space seemed as clean as it could be on the waterfront. Not so much as an issue just at Sean's , but I noticed and have read the ants on this island are out of control. They are literally everywhere, with or without food. The rustic nature is great for a few days, but I wouldn't stay too long if you like plush accommodations.
