Looking for a guest for April into May.
Get to know a growing city with a place close to public transportation.
This is a photo of your rental room. There is a full closet to the right of the desk. This room gets the most light.
Rent a small room in a single family home. The house is located in sunny Oakland and is close to the Fruitvale BART and AC Transit. The spare room is in the upstairs of the house, so you will have your own private space.
I live in the house with my pup, Rugby. She is a lovable and energetic Cairn Terrier. I enjoying cycling, food, movies and just relaxing.
Amenities include laundry, kitchen, cable, internet access and access to my gym equipment. You will also be able to use the grill and fire pit in the back yard. There is street parking available and is generally not hard to find.
The neighborhood is eclectic, a few miles in either direction you can find shops, food and excellent hiking trails. A car or bike is recommended to make your stay the most convenient.
If you have any questions about the space, don't hesitate to shoot me a message.
AC Transit picks up a 2 or 3 blocks from the house. BART is also close by with a 15 minute walk. These two options can get you where you need to go. However, a bike or car would make your stay a little easier.
In general, I am pretty easy going. I expect my guests is for them to be respectful of my house and belongings. :)
Please no parties or extra guests without running it by me first.
Sorry: Absolutely no smoking.

Dani was a great host and roommate. I stayed in her guest bedroom for a month in the summer, exploring the Bay Area. It is a great home base, close to not only San Francisco and downtown Oakland, but also very accessible to Alameda (and the beach!) and by lots of bike lanes. (I bought a bike for the month I was there and Dani even offered to help me out to drive me to Target or Walmart to buy a cheap bicycle). The house is really charming; it looks quaint and cutesy but older and rustic from the outside; inside, it is exactly as pictured, renovated, well-maintained and clean. The upstairs bedroom can get hot; and I found that the mattress is a bit longer than the frame, but for a short stay, her house and the guest room are great. The location is not downtown Oakland, and Dani expressed to me that as a single woman, she wouldn't recommend walking alone at night. I took her word for it and saw that perhaps this isn't the best neighborhood in Oakland, but I still loved the neighborhood vibe and felt safe while there. Having access to a private backyard (with a plum tree) was pretty stellar as well. I am glad I stayed with Dani & her sweet dog Rugby (who I miss already!).
Danielle was the perfect host. She's really nice and accommodating. Her home is very clean and organized.
The bedroom is on the "second floor" so you get a lot of privacy.
You have to love dogs to stay with Danielle because she has the cutest dog ever and Rugby loves your attention!
I didn't have a car, but I got around the Bay Area fine with AC Transit and BART. The Fruitvale BART Station isn't far from Danielle's house. You can either walk there, or take the 54 bus. The 54 bus is just 2 blocks away from the house too.
Definitely a good host and a good location!
The East Bay is a great alternative to the City! Danielle's room is a perfect alternative to a hotel! Danielle is friendly and accommodating. But Rugby the dog really rolls out the welcome carpet - you'll fall in love with her! The room itself is just as pictured - but can't really see how private it actually is until you've been there. It is a second story room that feels a little like a tree house. I was very comfortable and slept like a baby!
Danielle is an absolutely wonderful host! She takes the time to leave a very generous welcome basket and makes you feel right at home right away. The house is adorable, and the room is spacious, bright and sparkling clean. The house even has a backyard with a nice sitting area to enjoy the California sun. The metro is about a 15 minute walk, and will bring you right into the city really fast. I would definitely recommend a stay here!
I work as a senior digital producer at Pandora. My job is both demanding and fun! In my free time, I enjoy cycling, hiking, spending time with my pup Rugby, and watching movies.
I am a bit of a health nut (not unusual for the bay area). I spend a good amount of time training on my bike. I'm pretty flexible with foods, but do eat gluten free.
In general, I like to keep things simple. My house is clean and well organized. You will find the essentials and not much more. I do love to keep my guests happy, so if you have a special request please let me know!
