The Space

Charming detached studio-apartment cottage has plenty of privacy! No sharing space with others! One Double bed and one Single bed, kitchen with small refrigerator, small stove, microwave, toaster oven, eating area, and bath with handicap access. Bright and clean with fresh paint and new hardwood floors. This "home stay" unit is perfect for one, two, or three people. Yes, your pets are welcome!

Stroll down to the creek's edge - this is PRIVATE creek access for just our community of a few homes - you won't be running into hoards of tourists near the water here!

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glasses, pots and pans to prepare and serve meals. In late autumn (when the leaves on the trees drop) until spring, you'll have a view of Cathedral Rock from the kitchen window. The cottage is surrounded by red rock and pastoral views. Located outside city limits, and yet only 10 minutes to town where you'll find shopping, art galleries, theaters and events.

This stand-alone cottage is in the Cathedral Rock vortex and very quiet and private. NO TV, no phone, nothing but the INTERNET to distract you from all the hiking, biking, fishing, and meditating you want to do. Good spot for writers, artist, photographers, hikers and those on a spiritual vision quest. (Although many guests are watching movies/TV on their lap-top computers and Ipads.)

This is a great spot on Disney Lane -- within the historic Red Rock Loop Rd/ Cathedral Valley area with MANY neighborhood trails -- and just a short walk to the creek. Conveniently located between Crescent Moon and Red Rock State Parks, there's much to see and do here.

The water in the cottage is from a natural spring well 450 ft below the ground - no chlorine or fluoride added - just fresh pure, clean water. An irrigation ditch from the creek also runs through the neighborhood and is on the north side of the cottage. The sound of the water from creek and ditch is soothing and restful.

A car is recommended - Public transportation picks up at the high school only twice a day. Red Rock Loop Road is windy with many beautiful views with turn-outs to enjoy them. Parking at the cottage is plentiful and only steps away from the front door. Room enough to park your RV, boat, or trailer, too.

Please keep in mind that this is a RURAL area and there's a great deal of wildlife in the area - deer, coyotes, javelina and great blue herons frequent our neighborhood. It's very quiet.

Pets are welcome and although it is completely fenced, please keep your dog on leash outside the cottage. A non-refundable pet deposit required of $10 for each animal per day. Although there is a dog in the main house next door, she is not allowed in the cottage or in the fenced yard surrounding the cottage.

Check in time is 3:30 pm, check out time is 11 am. (Flexible if you arrange a different time in advance.)

Interaction with Guests

Those who book the quiet cottage usually do so because they want their privacy. However, if you need to speak with the hosts, there's a doorbell on the back door and/or a phone number posted in the cottage.

The Neighborhood

The Cathedral Rock Valley is a historic area dating back to Sedona's earliest settlers. The Wells Fargo road and the first schoolhouse built in Sedona are nearby. Walt Disney purchased this land for various films and shows.

Getting around

You'll need a car in Sedona. The public transit picks up only twice a day at the corner of Upper Red Rock Loop Rd and 89A. Taxi service is spotty and slow.

  • We had a wonderful experience at the Quiet Cottage over the 4th of July Weekend. Our Dogs loved the Creek and my boyfriend and I loved the peace and quiet. For all future trips to Sedona we will definitely want to come back.

  • It was a perfect location and very nice place! It was exactly the type of space we needed with a comfortable place to sleep, a nice bathroom and a convenient kitchen. Our host was great at recommending places to eat and giving information on how to get to Oak Creek. She also went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed well stocked including snacks and a cooler which was a great extra!

  • MOST lovely cottage within walking distance of secluded streams for swimming and relaxing. Jocelyn's cottage had every single thing we needed for a perfect 3 night birthday getaway! Coffee pot, kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans, very comfy beds, spacious shower and red rock views! A nice peaceful energy and a swing out on the patio for evening happy hours. I can' think of any way to improve this beautiful cottage ! We like to visit Sedona 2-3 times a year, we will return to this lovely home again!!

  • We had a great time staying with Jocelyn at her place in Sedona. It was clean, quiet, and well-stocked for any needs that you may have. Great location close to town and any hiking that you may want to do. Only thing that more my husband noticed than I was that the internet was slow at times, but that may have been due to the number of objects we had running off of the internet. Other than that I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

    Response from Jocelyn:

Because we are situated between huge red rock monoliths in this little valley, cell phone and internet service isn't always great. I wish I could promise the same speedy service you get up in town, but that would mean yet another cell tower. The residents of the area has so far resisted having another cell tower with internet antenna put up in our forest - we like it that way. Our neighborhood is one of the few without smart meters and other heavy EMF energy sources, which can have potentially unhealthy side effects. If you're looking to unplug in a spot that is as toxin free as I can possibly make it, this is the place for you.

  • We spent two nights in the cottage and would loved to have stayed much longer if our schedule had permitted. Jocelyn and Bill were thoughtful hosts, and the cottage was clean, well supplied for cooking and very comfortable. We took several short hikes and loved the views from the Red Rock Loop Road. If you stay here, be sure to cool off in Oak Creek and spend time on the patio enjoying the spectacular nighttime sky. Jocelyn and Bill are very knowledgeable about all aspects of their surroundings, and it's a delight to talk with them.

  • Such a gem tucked in a hidden beautiful area of Sedona! The cottage is situated in a beautiful spot near Oak Creek, which is unbelievably serene, healing and magical. The cottage was clean, quaint, perfect for our needs- it was so great to have a refrigerator and stove to have access to.

  • My sister and I had a delightful 2 nights at Quiet Cottage. It is quiet except for the lovely sound of birds since the cottage is close to the riparian area along Oak Creek. The cottage is well equipped to cook, which we did after many days on the road and eating out. If you do not want to drive back to a grocery store stop before you drive down to the cottage. There are at least 3 stores along 89A coming from Sedona. Definitely take a dip in Oak Creek, it was refreshing and powerful. For those who like to hike the hike to Brims Mesa was great with beautiful views. http://(email hidden)/hiking.html

  • This was my first Airbnb stay and it turned out to be better than I could ever have hoped for or expected. The cottage is located in a small, lovely rural/suburban neighborhood right at the base of a beautiful red-rock formation called Navajo Bluff. When you pull into the driveway the first thing you sense is an immediate and profound sense of peace heightened by a melodic chorus of birdsong.
The cottage is cozy, clean, quiet and surrounded by pastures, gardens and nearby Oak Creek, making it a truly idyllic getaway. Jocelyn, our host, had stocked it with every conceivable amenity from a hair dryer and toiletries to scissors, Band Aids, coffee, filters, half and half, a corkscrew and wine glasses. There were even some treats in the freezer and canned goods in the cupboards.
A patio and tall wooden fence separate the cottage from the main house giving a sense of privacy but Jocelyn was just a doorbell-ring away if any help was needed. She even took the time to lead us down a path through a nearby woods to Oak Creek, pointing out where the vortex in the area is said to be. All in all we found the cottage and its environs to be a beautiful, enchanted place and out host the best ever. I can't imagine a better way of experiencing the magic of Sedona than booking a stay here.
