Recently my mother in law, husband and I had the distinctive pleasure of staying with Heather, Ed and their two dogs Georgie and Toby in their gorgeous Scottsdale home. It was to be a special weekend for us and not being able to find the ideal hotel suite we decided to book in with Heather and Ed. I was little nervous as this was intended as a surprise for my mother in law and she is used to 5 star hotels and a little picky to say the least. But the pictures of the rooms looked flawless and the house and location seemed to fulfill our needs; We need not have worried at all. From the moment we crossed the threshold, frazzled and late after a long detour in lost-ville- to the moment we said our goodbyes some five days – our stay with Heather and Ed was one of the best parts, if not the highlight of our Arizona experience.
The rooms, beds, sheets with thread-counts in the hundreds, amenities (could not put a dent in the q-tips and cotton swabs!) mini-fridge thoughtfully stocked with fresh fruits and yummies, morning breakfasts…would delight even the most discerning guests. But what enchanted us most of all were our hosts. Heather and Ed were charming and lovely, interesting and interested. I like to think that we arrived as strangers but left as friends. In fact my mother in law didn’t want to say goodbye and immediately put Heather on her speed dial!
This was the perfect holiday solution for our motley crew of three and it went far above any expectations we had. It was partly due to chance and the correct alignment of the stars, but mostly because we had the perfect hosts: Heather, Ed, Georgie and Toby.
Heather and her husband Ed are wonderful! Heather was easily available via email leading up to our trip and was able to accommodate everything we needed - including adding a few extra nights to our reservation! She and Ed provided wonderful restaurant recommendations and even a parking pass for us to use downtown. The house is pristine and the beds very comfortable. I highly recommend staying with them! Two very cute dogs as well :)
The reservation was canceled 86 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We chose Heather's B and B to start off a three week holiday in Arizona, and we could not have made a better choice. Heather and Ed were really welcoming, waiting up for us after our flight was delayed, even providing a meal for us because we were too late to find a restaurant, and during our stay were so generous and friendly we felt that we were staying with friends rather than in a conventional B and B. Heather and Ed are both delightful, and we could not recommend them more highly. They gave us a really great start to our holiday.
Lovely accommodations. Very comfortable, great breakfast. Beats a hotel any day!
