About This Listing
We are located in a warm, friendly neighborhood and close to 2 subway lines. Our apartment is a home away from home with eclectic furnishings and an old world charm. Access to a full kitchen and bathroom directly off of the bedroom.
This listing is for the Master Bed in a lovely 2 bedroom apartment. The room available gets direct sun all morning and overlooks the garden.
If you want to feel like you are home and living in New York this is the place for you!
We cook dinner occasionally and offer anything we make to our guests.
Everything in my apartment is kept very clean. The beds have new and freshly laundered linens on them and clean/new towels are provided. There is a full kitchen with all the utensils and pots and pans you would need to cook a gourmet meal. 4 burner gas stove and oven. Breakfast nook in the kitchen to sit and grab a quick bite or log on to your laptop and have a cup of coffee.
There is a shared living room for hanging out if you want to read a book or just have a chat. We often use it to work from home. We do occupy the common room most of the day so privacy in the common room is rare. Two cats are also included. They keep to themselves for the most part. If you have allergies to cats please be aware. The bathroom is also shared. The bathroom is directly located next to the door of the available room so only one step in the common area to the bedroom.

Three very lovely roommates, all charming, respectful and professional. Very easy going and personable. Willing to help out.
The room was as described in the listing; clean, cozy, and accessible to public transportation. I enjoyed my stay and the room provided a nice place to come back to after exploring the city.
Ian was very accommodating and patient with my schedule. My bus arrived three hours late but he was gracious enough to show me around when I got there. He also provided a public transportation map and some food recommendations which were greatly appreciated.
Joann was great and welcoming. The only complaint would be the noise on the weekend, but hey its the weekend. Good place to stay if you want to feel like your living in New York and a good starting point for exploring the city.
I really have a good time there, Joann gave me a warm welcome , and the room is so beautiful, I just feel at home you know! That is a best host in NY I think ! Hope I can come back to NY ,so I can visit them again!
My Wife and I arrived a little early, the communication was excellent and Ian's Mom was there and greeted us. She was sweet and put us at ease. The neighborhood was good, I hadn't been there is some years, and was pleasantly surprised how it has come back. Ians apartment was nice and kept clean. There is a bar that plays music, some may need the ear plugs he supplies, and some may not. I slept perfectly fine, my wife had some trouble the first night, but not the second night. Super easy access to two different subway lines, the M and the L, both quick rides into the City.
All in all I would definitely return, it was a positive experience.
We had a satisfactory level of experience with Ian's hosting. The listing is a private room but you feel like the whole house is yours. His mom is living there and she was kind and helpful during our stay.
Ian greeted me with his big charming smile and that made me feel so welcomed. The room was as per description and I had Tory the Turtle and Pussy the Cat apart from Joanne as my friends and for company. Ian and Joanne were both two wonderful host and you never feel like you have left home. You do your own thing and the neighbourhood was quite quiet except for Friday nite , the noise is a little heavier till the wee hours of the morning. The area has easy access by subways into the heart of town. Pretty safe for single travellers like myself. Cheers & Enjoy ! Vimala Sinnadurai from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
