We cook dinner occasionally and offer anything we make to our guests.
Everything in my apartment is kept very clean. The beds have new and freshly laundered linens on them and clean/new towels are provided. There is a full kitchen with all the utensils and pots and pans you would need to cook a gourmet meal. 4 burner gas stove and oven. Breakfast nook in the kitchen to sit and grab a quick bite or log on to your laptop and have a cup of coffee.
There is a shared living room for hanging out if you want to read a book or just have a chat. We often use it to work from home. We do occupy the common room most of the day so privacy in the common room is rare. Two cats are also included. They keep to themselves for the most part. If you have allergies to cats please be aware. The bathroom is also shared. The bathroom is directly located next to the door of the available room so only one step in the common area to the bedroom.

Ian and specially Joan, his mother, are very attentive and kind as hosts. It seems they are very used to have travelers and tourists around so they think in everything you might need while passing days with them, from towels to earplugs, maps, guides and an organized environment.
The house and room are clean and have a cute vintage decoration.
Couldn't ask for anything better, specially for the good & fair price. :)
AMAZING!!!!! I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about the hosts, the apartment, location... everything. I had the most fabulous experience staying with Ian and his lovely mother, Joann. They were so warm and welcoming to me, helping me carry in my bags, providing numerous maps of NYC and subway maps and kind words of advice and recommendations. The room is super sunny and welcoming- all of the right character and feng shui. I felt at home right away with both of them and think they are incredible hosts. It is not often you get such a great living space. AND amazing people in one. After three and a half weeks at the Wheeldons residence I walked away having a great experience, and even more precious, two good friends.
Truly the best bnb experience anyone could ask for- HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
Ian and Joann were wonderful hosts. They were very accommodating especially with check in and check out times and very informative with regards to great shopping spots in the city. Their place was clean and tidy. Though there was music from the bar next door throughout the night I didn't mind as the music was enjoyable and earplugs were provided in case it was a bother. I would stay here again :)
We were in NYC for 3 weeks over the holidays and our hosts could not have been more gracious. We were made to feel at home and given lots of great advice about places to go and things to do. Would highly recommend anyone coming to the City to us AIRBNB.
Ian and Joanne were so warm and friendly and very welcoming, with lots of advice and tips. The bed was comfy and the room was nicely decorated. There was quite a lot of noise from the club next door, but the free earplugs fixed the problem more or less. Great stay overall!!
Ian and his mother Joann were fantastic hosts. They provided us with so many interesting suggestions of places to go, museums to visit, restaurants to eat at, that we didn^t have time to fit it all in! Which means we^ll have to come back. Their apartment is warm and welcoming, very trendy and homely. It is close to the subway, with a 20 min journey to Manhatten. Thanks again!
Really nice people !!! Easy going !!!
Good room , you only have to be able to sleep with some music (the bar next door).
Thanks Ian Jose en Joanne !
Ian was an excellent host, quick to respond and very accommodating. I loved the design of his apartment it is wonderfully quirky. We also met Ian's mum Joanna who was really friendly and full of great advice. There was a pet tortoise in the apartment - called Tank. She liked to spend time in the room we were staying in and you had to watch wear you stepped.
Other reviews have mentioned the noise from the bar next door. We found it very loud. Ian kindly provided ear plugs. But if you are a light sleeper this may not be the place for you.
I had good time in Ian's place. The room is clean & the location is easy to get to the subway station.
I loved my stay. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Great location - close to public transport and all services local to property. Clean and well maintained property, thanks for making everything easy! Leeanne
