This beautiful apartment is located in the Spaarndammerbuurt, next to the vibrant Westerpark and 5 minutes from the Jordaan area. Central Station is a 10-minute bike ride away. The whole building is completely renovated, but was originally built in the 1920's, in the so-called 'Amsterdamse School' style. Even though the area is close from the city center, it's very quiet and feels like a small village. It's perfect for a couple or 2/3 friends.
The amenities include:
- A large living room, fully furnished
- A spacious bedroom with double bed
- A smaller second bedroom/study for 1
- A fully equipped kitchen
- A TV and DVD player
- Washing machine
- Spacious bathroom with shower
- Separate toilet
- Bike (lock it well!)
- Lot's of Marilyn Monroe :-)
As a true globetrotter, I've often booked through Airbnb to my great satisfaction, so I would love to return the favor! I only rent out my place when I'm exploring the world or staying with family or friends, so unfortunately my apartment is not always available.
It's a lovely place, with the beautiful Westerpark around the corner (that also includes restaurants, a cinema and theater), great restaurants in the neighborhood and at walking distance from the Jordaan and best shopping street in Amsterdam: the Haarlemmerstraat. Parking is possible (there's usually space) but you do have to pay an hourly fee of about 3 euros. On Sunday's it's free.
Marieke was a great host. We unfortunately arrived later than we anticipated and she was understanding and gracious. The apartment was beautiful and ideally located. For architecture lovers the view on the Het Schip Museum is unbeatable. All in all a great stay.
The apartment is beautiful and quiet. We (2 friends and me) felt like we were at home !
The bus stop is next to the building, you could reach the center in 10 minutes. We're definitely coming back soon to Amsterdam and hopefully to Marieke's apartment.
I stayed at Marieke's flat for 4 wonderful days with two of my girlfriends. The flat was beautiful and comfortable, perfect for us 3 girls who wanted to have a great time in Amsterdam but also experience the residential side of the city. The flat is well connected for transportation and it costed us only about £15 in total one night to get home from Supper club which was not too far away either. Her flat was really clean, she made space for us in her cupboard so we could store our clothes and make ourselves feel more at home. Marieke even provided us with eggs and some refreshments upon arrival. We loved the area it was situated in as it was away from the craziness of the city. We usually took the bus into central which didn't take more than 10 minutes, and just really enjoyed that 10 minutes of the nice city view. All in all I would definitely stay here again as I don't have any negative views of this place at all!
As a last minute booking, Marieke was fantastic. Couldnt have asked for a more welcoming and kind person.
She was unfortunately away during our stay but her place was fantastic.
The place itself was, being critical, a little out of the way at about a 30minute walk to the station but the neighbourhood was nice and the walk along the canals was peaceful.
Marieke was super chill and friendly, the apt is very bright and homey. I really enjoyed her collection of books and magazines. She also was down to hang out with us and recommended us a few concert venues! The bus to the center of Amsterdam only takes 10-15 mins or so, really easily accessible. The neighborhood is quiet, which I really enjoyed. Would for sure stay with Marieke again if I'm back in Amsterdam.
The reservation was canceled 9 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I would like to leave a comment about Marieke and her apartment. I'll start with the fact that she left currently very good impression. She is very sweet, agreeable, the attentive and just a nice girl. Upon arrival in Amsterdamshe was waiting for us at the Central Station, and despite the fact that our flight delayed for an hour, and she had an hour wait - greeted us with a smile on the face of the platform. With her, we walked to the house, in which it was flat, 5 minutes we got on the 22 bus and left in a very quiet, peaceful and incredibly beautiful area. Behind the house, in which we lived was even a fountain, and across the street is a museum.
The apartment was just incredible! The whole family Marieke and she as it turned out connected with art, so the apartment are many beautiful paintings, books, postcards and vintage vinyl records. I, as a girl, loved the kitchen, we have been there a long time. Comfortable, have all the benefits of civilization and a lot of fresh flowers!) Giving instructions for living Marieke gone, leaving us to relax after a flight and wishing good holiday. The apartment was very clean and after shower, we all lay down on the soft beds, there were two beds, as separate rooms.
The apartment is, as I said, five minutes from the city center, and you can get to it by 22 and 48 buses, but sometimes we just walk, because the streets leading to the center too, is full of interesting shops, cafes, restaurants and even a small movie theater.
So highly recommend everyone, and indeed, the next time I come to Amsterdam, be sure to rent a flat in it Marieke
Marieke's apartment is so great in terms of the apartment itself and the location. the neighborhood is so beautiful and close to the center. the buses are going to the center in 7 minutes and the bus stop is just 1 minute from the apartment. also it's possible to walk in 20-25 minutes to the center and biking should be much better - we did not try. also the apartment is so close to the harlemerstraat, which is one the coolest streets of amsterdam.
when we reached the home, we're amazed because marieke prepared everything for us. the house is so clean, she even bought fruits and some other stuff for us to eat. and she left instructions for everything :) we can easily contacted her if we wanted to ask anything - she is really helpful and nice. there is one bedroom with a double bed which is so comfortable, and another small room for with a small bed, we were three and it was perfect for us.
so we strongly recommend this beautiful apartment with its really kind and nice host!
We had a really fantastic time staying in Marieke's apartment. She was really helpful and happy to advise us on the area and give us tips on places to visit in Amsterdam. Marieke was really quick at replying to our messages and was always available to answer any queries we had.
The apartment itself is really lovely, super clean and quiet. It's located in a great area of the city with only a short bike ride into the centre (also easy to walk in) and lots of shops and, cafes and restaurants are close by. Opposite the apartment is an amazing building called The Ship which is well worth a look inside.
I would really recommend staying in Marieke's apartment and if we return to Amsterdam any time soon we would definitely choose to go back.
