You know you’re staying with wonderful hosts when you’re contemplating revising your travel plans to stay another day. Jay and Jeff are wonderful hosts and after a week of ‘fry ups’ Dave and I were very appreciative of the healthy breakfast options provided by Jay & Jeff.
Staying with Jay & Jeff is like staying with friends you just met. Their rooms are clean and comfortable and we could have hung out for hours in their gourmet kitchen chatting with our hosts and the other guests. Jeff was happy to give us some fantastic suggestions for things to do in Bath. Jeff has a vast knowledge of the interesting history of the entire area and he went through a detailed list on a map of options to see and do.
If you have more than a few days in Bath, be sure to rent bikes and cycle along the canal towpath to the next-door town of Bradford-on-Avon and get back to Bath via the brand new Two-Tunnels Greenway.

Great host, great room, and a great location! Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Jeff is the most enthusiastic, helpful, interesting, cheerful, down to earth host that one could imagine. He even arranged for my wife to get a very helpful massage for her strained neck.
His place is a short 12 minute bus ride to the trains and centre town. His breakfasts were excellent, healthy and plentiful. Our room was comfortable with a lovely view of his back yard and neighbouring field. There was a very good pub and an excellent deli both within a five minute walk of Jeff's cottage.
The breakfast time was filled with good company of both Jeff and Jackie who shared their wide range of life's experiences with us in the best of Be & Be traditions.
Canajun eh?? Thank you Bruce for your generous review. We thoroughly enjoyed your own enthusiasm for life and your cheerful but informed and sceptical observations on life and the universe. Jacqui and I were delighted that you and Linda had such a fruitful search for ancestral links. I was a real pleasure hosting you and Linda. Jeff n Jacqui April 2013
Our short stay with Jeff was an absolute pleasure. Lovely house, great location and fantastic host. If we are back in the area we will certainly be back. Thank you again for your hospitality. Damian and Rachael, Skipton N-Yorks.
We had a fantastic time at Beech Cottage! Jeff is a natural host who will make you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you arrive. The double room was all you needed out of a bedroom, really cosy and a great view of the garden.
What made our stay unforgettable was Jeff's hospitality and recommendations, he has such a great knowledge of the hidden gems in Bath from pubs to coffee houses!
Would definitely recommend you stay here!

About the Host, Jacqui And Jeff
Expect a warm welcome when you arrive at Beech Cottage.
Living in Bath since 1968 and being a Bath City Councillor for many years (Mayor of Bath 1995-96) taught Jeff much about the history and fabric of Bath. His beautiful wife Jacqui was born only a mile away from Beech Cottage, then spent most of her life in Jamaica and London - returning to Bath in 2012.
They both value the simple pleasures and comforts in life; and love hosting their guests and helping them enjoy their time in Bath.
Healthy eating and lifestyle are important to us. A self service breakfast is included in the room rate: teas and infusions - fresh filter coffee - muesli - cereals - bread - juices - spreads - fresh fruit. Low fat milk and soya alternative are always available. There is a small gym you are welcome to use during your stay.
Jeff has worked in the US and Canada and travelled extensively. In 2011 he sailed with 3 friends from New Zealand and spent ten weeks in the South Pacific. 10 days and nights - non stop from Opua to northern Tonga in a 45ft yacht was quite an experience :-) From there we went on to Fiji, and Australia
Five things we can't live without? Good food - music - travel - conversation with friends old and new - companionship with each other.
