Modern Victorian, its not a contradiction. Our home has the character and charm of Victorian construction but renovated in a contemporary style with openness, light, modern amenities and comfort. The area has everything you want from urban life.
Toronto is a city of great neighbourhoods and my home in the "Junction" is just as it sounds. The Junction is a crossroads, a point of connection, transition and a meeting place. Its proximate to some of Toronto's great areas like Bloor West Village and Roncesvalles. It provides access to a few of the city's most popular green areas like High Park and Humber Valley. As its name suggests, the Junction has great public transit connections and very easy access to highways and likewise Toronto's Pearson International Airport.
My home is a modern renovated self contained apartment in a Victorian era home. This apartment is on the second floor with a large bedroom and double doors off the living room onto a large deck with an umbrella, chaise lounge, table and chairs and steps to a propane grill.
The queen size real bed is very comfortable and the room is bright with two opening windows and a ventilating skylight. You'll find a compact but clean and well appointed full bathroom here, likewise with the kitchen. There's also a desk and cozy living area with large flat screen tv. My home has wifi, the tv has over-the-air HD channels and hdmi cables if you would like to connect a laptop or view the days pictures on a big screen. Laundry machines are in the basement and shared with one other unit.
The walkable city: the nearest bus stop can be seen from the deck, it's that close. But not close enough to hear the buses from inside. The bus ride into the nearest subway station is a five minute ride but if you feel like walking through our beautiful neighborhood, it's 20 minutes or less. That bus or walk takes you to Runnymede Station which is also at the heart of Bloor West Village. It's a bustling but neighbourhoody street with many cafes, restaurants, pubs and shopping. Continue walking along east along Bloor St through the Village and you'll soon be standing on the edge of High Park.
Stroll down through picturesque High Park along Grenadier Pond (a small lake! with lots of wildlife) or through the park zoo and over to Roncesvalles. This isn't just a street, its an avenue with its own feel but just as vibrant as Bloor west. Continue down Roncesvalles and at the bottom you'll find yourself in Sunnyside and staring out across Lake Ontario. Here you can go for a swim in Sunnyside Pool or sit on a boardwalk bench for a while before walking, cycling, running or roller blading on the Martin Goodman Trail along Toronto's waterfront.

Interaction with Guests
I or my wife are available to answer questions about the space, getting around or things to do. We do not live on the premises but we are close by and just a phone call away.
No smoking inside but guests can smoke outside on the deck. Please water the plant!
David and his wife were very friendly. Their property was really nice too. The bedroom has amazing vaulted ceilings and there is so much natural light in there. Overall we felt really comfortable here. The neighborhood had a lot of convenience stores and restaurants really close too, and the bus to the subway comes right around the corner!

An interest in ideas, culture and things I can build with my hands are some of my defining characteristics.
Toronto is my home and a place which I love. I have lived there most of my life but have the spirit of a childhood spent on the west coast . I love travelling, whether in my own back yard, across Canada (by train was amazing!), on motorcycle (through half the U.S. east coast summer of '12) or overseas.
Respect is paramount for me, I respect a person's time and point of view and look for the same in return.
I believe in openess; to try anything once and to live and let live.
