This is the loft above our horse barn.
Apartment loft over the barn of a working horse ranch. Rustic old-west decor. Working player piano. Wood-burning stove. Private entrance, Full Kitchen. Huge beer-cooler refrigerator. Living room and bedroom have sweeping panoramic views of the Great Pine ridge.
B and B at the Ranch - Loft is a spacious and cozy loft with a fantastic view of Barbara's Ranch. The loft was clean, nicely decorated, and comforting. The kitchen was equipped with everything to cook any meal. In addition, Barbara cooks a heck of a breakfast! I give top marks!!!
We really enjoyed our stay! The loft has tons of character and AMAZING views from the many windows. When I awoke, I felt like it was sunrise in Colorado - huge wide views for miles across the grassy fields and lowlands! The place was cozy and comfortable with lots of great art and books. The real highlight was getting to know Barbara - feisty, friendly and funny. We spent time with the horses, looked through Barbara's art room (she is a retired art teacher), walked through the fields, relaxed on the many couches, dressed up in Sombreros and mink stoles, had a bonfire and ended our stay with a delicious breakfast. If you are looking for an out-of-the-ordinary experience and don't mind getting your boots dirty, the loft and ranch is the place to go.
My sisters, mom, 2 month old niece and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing night at this great B&B ranch loft. Barb was very welcoming and we had a fantastic breakfast with such a great variety. The loft is directly above the barn so it is really neat seeing the horses right out your window! I would definitely recommend staying at this B&B ranch.
I loved this place and will definitely go out of my way to stay here again. I had a wedding and needed a nearby place to accommodate my group of 7 people. Barbara was absolutely fantastic! She is very gracious, charming and an energetic young lady.
Her place was also very charming and quite spacious. Her horses are gorgeous as well.
I have a background in food and let me tell you that her breakfast was better than any restaurant I've been to. Ask for the rhubarb pie!
Barbara is a warm, generous and interesting host (also a great cook!) and we shared many laughs. The barn loft, where our party of three adults stayed twelve nights, offers a unique experience. It is spacious, has beautiful views from every corner and abounds with knick-knacks reflecting Barbara's many interests and colourful life. If you don't like horses, stay clear, because the five of them hang out right below the main window - something we enjoyed. The barn loft is not a spotless, stark hotel room, but is a working, breathing rural gem of a place to stay near the pretty town of Port Perry and Lake Scugog.
