Fitzroy - Queen room in great house

House - Private room · Gore St, Fitzroy, VIC 3065, Australia

The Space

An 1860 Terrace, Chunky House has been sympathetically renovated to retain it's period charm. Fitted with modern bathrooms, a country style kitchen, separate living and dining rooms, this is a property that will meet the expectations of people looking for an upmarket experience of Melbourne in a friendly 'at home' environment.

Large private bedroom for one or two guests. Queen Bed and heaps of wardrobe space. Private bathroom, downstairs lounge area, kitchen and courtyard. Room is fitted with locks should there be other guests in the house.

The kitchen is fully available to share with me, however with so many great cafes around you'll probably decide to go out for most meals. One car parking permit is also available but not guaranteed as I have another room available. Please enquire on booking. ($50 refundable deposit applies)

Fitzroy is Melbourne’s equivalent of Soho in London and New York, the Left Bank in Paris or Greenwich Village. Here you will find a profusion of restaurants of every nationality, wine bars, clubs and venues famous for music from all over the world.

Public transport via tram is about a minutes walk out the front door and it's pretty easy to get anywhere you'd like without making too many route changes.

  • This was the easiest and most pleasant AIRBNB experience we've had yet. Karen's house is just off the main road in the hub of Fitzroy; walking distance to everything awesome (literally thirty paces). The house was quiet and clean with a comfortable bed and cleaned and new bathroom. We pretty much had the house to ourselves due to the way it is split up. I will be staying here again for sure.

  • We had a very pleasant week in Fitzroy. The Queen room is large and airy and the bed was very comfortable. It was great to have our own bathroom as well.
The location of the house is ideal for those who like to walk and browse the eclectic mix of shops and interesting boutiques and there were many great eating places close by. Our host was very amenable to assisting with enquiries and made our stay a very happy one.

  • As a very busy Mum I wanted a relaxing two day break alone to shop and do a bit of study in Melbourne, and this place was perfect. Easy to find, quiet, beautiful, relaxing and right near all the shops and cafes I wanted to go to. The only problem was the bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out and go shopping!
Having not been to Melbourne I felt secure having someone there to make sure I didn't get lost and arrived home at night.
Karens friends that were housesitting were incredibly helpful. I really had the house to myself as they were staying in a studio out the back. I look forward to the opportunity to stay again sometime.

  • It was great to stay at Keren's place in Fitzroy - the spot is perfectly situated to explore that part of the city, and to be in the CBD in 10 minutes. Heitor and Mari were wonderful hosts and I felt very comfortable and at home. Thank you Keren, Heitor and Mari

  • Keren is a very nice hostess who offered us local insights and made us feel very welcome. Levi is a sweet old dog and we had a few cuddles and pats. He is very quiet and mostly stays in his basket.

The home is beautiful and full of art and gorgeous furniture. We made cups of tea in the kitchen, lolled in the living room and even enjoyed some of Keren's music on the ipod she made available.

Location is great with trams very near by and great eateries. I recommend Arcadia for breakfast and excellent coffee.

Two rooms are a good options for when I travel with children in tow. Both are light and sunny, yet very private.

  • Keren's house is comfortable and clean. Walking distance to everything that matters, yet quiet enough to get a good night's rest. Keren was friendly and gave great tips on what to do in Melbourne. Would definitely return!

  • Keren's beautiful house was perfect for our whirlwind weekend trip to Melbourne. The bed was comfy, the house warm and we were perfectly situated to Fitzroy and all it has to offer.

Although in the heart of Fitzroy the street was quiet. The bedroom and bathroom were super neat and tidy. Many amazing places to eat within a short walk.

We only met briefly, but Keren warmth and spirit reflected in her abode. She accommodated our late arrival with no-fuss or bother.

The beautiful artwork and classic character of the house was always nice to come back to after a day/evening exploring.

  • Lovely huge room, in a beautiful house. Despite being right in the heart of Fitzroy, this place was super quiet. Easing stroll to fabulous shops and cafes, and walking distance from parks and Federation Square. The place was lovely and warm as well... very nice. Only disadvantage is that the bathroom is down the hall. Keren the host was lovely, and is very kindly posting me the dress I left hanging in the wardrobe.

  • Keren's place was terrific, and she was the most gracious host! She was especially generous in letting me stay quite late the day I left, as I had a late flight out of Melbourne that night and didn't want to carry my bags around all day.

  • We stayed with Keren on the final leg of our honeymoon the house is located a great area with easy access across the city. We eat at a pub she recommended on our last night which was EXCELLENT right at the end of the road, also enjoyed an amazing Jass night just 5 min up the road the live music in the area was brilliant. The house is characteristic and very well kept. We felt very fortunate to have fount it, no wonder the hotels are frustrated by airbnb, they will need to pull their socks up to meet this level of hospitality at his price.
