This spacious yet cozy craftsman style architect-designed home is a California classic. Built in the 1920's with a fresh renovation that was careful not to take away the integrity of the old Hollywood feel. Fully equipped with everything you may need to make you feel at home and relaxed. The perfect way to experience all that L.A has to offer on your retreat.

Nestled in the hills of the hip and trendy enclave of Silver lake, near Sunset Boulevard and is about a 10 minute walk to the bubbling Sunset Junction.
If you are coming to just enjoy all that Los Angles has to offer on your vacation, or you are looking for a peaceful space to work on a creative project, this is an inspiring environment.

The Master suite features a King bed with its own private bathroom with a large custom concrete and stainless steel shower with Italian mosaic floor tiles.
The 2nd bedroom is bright and airy and has a Queen bed.
The 3rd room may accommodate 2 more adults on a futon, or can be an office/library or a child's room. If you have a child we do offer a pop up crib (PACK N PLAY)
There are 2 full bathrooms, the master suite has a large shower and the 2nd bathroom has both shower and bathtub.
High thread count Egyptian cotton bedding for all beds.

The property offers an abundant yard with many trees and fruit for the picking: lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit and avocado tree's. A large outside table under the avocado tree is the perfect place for outdoor dining.
There is a large Texas style BBQ and smoker available.

The entire front yard is an herbalists dream with thyme, rosemary, mint, lavender, oregano, culinary sage, and white desert sage.
A private shady sitting area with a wood burning chiminea, offers a peaceful place to relax.
Private front porch with cafe table for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails.

Silverlake, a quiet and safe neighborhood, preferred by actors, artists, creatives and musicians, known as the "Greenwich Village of the West", is an eclectic neighborhood with a creative, diverse community. It is full of shops and restaurants, the beautiful Silverlake reservoir (with running path and park), and nearby Bellevue park with a running track basketball courts and playground.
Saturday and Tuesday Farmers Market just a short walk away.
Silverlake is also at the heart of LA's independent music scene, whose famous residents include Beck and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Being owned by a local Artist/sculptor this property is accented with many pieces from the local artistic community as well as some of the owners own original art work.

Easy access to the 101 (Hollywood Freeway), 110 (Downtown Freeway), 10 (Santa Monica/ LAX freeway, and the 2 (Glendale Freeway).
Near by attractions include: Dodger Stadium, Olvera Street, The Staples Center, Museums, China Town, The Disney Concert Hall and sights such as Hollywood Boulevard, Griffith Park Observatory The Hollywood Bowl, Universal Studios and Disneyland.
Nearby is Los Feliz, a hip neighborhood with great restaurants and shops, movie theaters, cocktail bars (Tiki Bar, The Dresden, Good Luck Bar) clubs and music venues (The Satellite and the Echo) a vast selection of restaurants for all budgets.
Beaches are a just a quick 30 minute drive by freeway (heavy traffic hours can take up to 45 min) to Santa Monica.

Walking distance ( approx 10 min) to the Silverlake cafes and boutiques at Sunset Junction.
Trader Joe's and Gelsons markets are just 5-8 minutes by car. Downtown's Union Station with its Amtrak connections and the new Fly Away Airport Bus are just a short drive away.

Price listed is for the entire house 3 separate bedrooms, living room, dining room, full kitchen, laundry room.
All bills, utilities, high speed internet, large flat screen t.v. local channels only, however stocked with an array of current DVD's and C.D."s for your enjoyment.
One level, child friendly.

Your hosts live in a separate home at the rear of the property if you find that you need anything to make your stay more enjoyable. They have a golden mix Dog named Buzzy who will greet you and kiss. He loves people and other dogs.

Please inquire with us if you intend to bring your pets. We love dogs but we will need to approve your pets due to there being the host dog on the property. He loves all dogs. There is a large shared gated yard. We review guest pets size and temperament before booking is confirmed. No cats please.

The master bedroom is in the back of the house, in the winter we use extra space heaters when needed.
-Air conditioning: there are 2 units. one unit in Living room/dining room. 2nd unit is in Master bedroom.
The unit in the living room cools the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, this is adequate for the house. Not central air. No microwave.
Please keep in mind the kitchen is the original kitchen, it is not high end fancy but charming, spacious and everything works. The fridge is clean and just a few years old.

Guest Access

You will enter though the iron walking gate to the back door of the house, there in the back foyer you will find your keys and gate clicker. Point the gate clicker at the big gate, it will open and close automatically in 3 minutes. Pull your car in, you are the 1st space under the avocado tree (far left)

Interaction with Guests

We let you have your space and your own experience with your friends and family, however we are available and happy to help with anything you may need, we will see you in the yard at some point!

The Neighborhood

Walking distance to Sunset Junction. Great cafe's, restaurants and shops. Close to Silver Lake reservoir. Bellevue Park 2 blocks away. Farmers market on Saturdays and Tuesday, 10 min walk.

Other Things to Note

This is such a wonderful place in the middle of this city. Big yard to hang in, great fruit trees. And 2 sweet host dogs who will make you smile.

House Rules

We have 2 friendly dogs, he is a golden retriever mix and a Long hair Jack Russel Terrier, they love people, say hi. We hope you enjoy them.
No smoking in the apt, or in front of it.
If you want to smoke, please go to the front yard and pick up your butts.
No loud parties please.
Laid back quiet neighborhood.
Check in is 4pm, check out is 10am unless other arrangements are made with the owner.
Please inquire with us regarding your pets. We will need to approve them before we make a booking.
No cats please.
If you have small children we ask that you do not leave them unattended at ANYTIME. There is a shared yard with 2 other units. There is an active drive way with an electric gate. There are tools/storage on the side yard, this is not a playground. We, as the owners are not responsible for injuries, or mishaps that may occur from playing in the yard. Please take your children to the park, Bellevue Park is just 2 blocks away.
Also due to the extreme cost of water in Los Angeles, playing with the hose and washing of vehicles is prohibited.
