Accommodations at Simona's are both stylish and well-located, and also are immaculately clean. The metro is a short walk away, and gets you to the city's center within minutes, as also do various buses that you may find right at the doorstep. The location is safe and fairly quiet, with many supermarkets and cafés around. The well-equipped and highly functional kitchenette comes in very handy, as you can prepare your meals at home with great ease. The living room, that also serves as a bedroom, has an understated and tasteful decor that reflects the aesthetics and the spirit of Rome. The futon is comfortable to sleep on, and Simona provides clean sheets and towels regularly. The WiFi internet is fast and works fine. Simona has her photography works displayed on some walls, and lovely prints on others, which creates an inspirational atmosphere. The bathroom is spacious and has a full bath tub and a washing machine. Simona is a kind, helpful, and agreeable lady who speaks fairly good English. Thank you, Simona!
Grazie.
Charming apartment in the definitely not-touristic (in the best meaning of it) area of Rome, but very nicely located - 10 minute walk both to the Garbatella metro and Ostiense train stations (and 10 minute more and you at the Pyramide and ancient wall of Rome).
For those into gourmet - Eataly emporium is also near - right at the Ostiense
Our stay at Simona's went very well. It is a good base from which we enjoyed Rome.
It is within easy reach of everything with buses 5 mins away, and the Metro another 10. The area is fairly out of the tourist grounds, a nice mix of office, retail (delis, organic shop & anything else) and residential where we always felt safe and welcome.
It is just outside the ZTL, so can be driven to by car.
The flat is compact, but very comfortable, so we could relax after longs days spent discovering the city.
Simona was great. We were running late with only spotty internet and she was patient and understanding. She went above and beyond on showing us maps of Roma, and giving helpful suggestions. Her apartment is stocked with everything you would need. Im not kidding, its welcoming, and has the greatest bathroom and a comfortable futon. Its not in the city center but only 3 stops to the colloseum, and her hood has a ton of charm, do some exploring there. We could not have asked for a better situation. Thank you Simona, for everything.
Simona is a really nice person who welcomed us with some wine and snacks. The fotos show what the appartment looks like. It is very clean and the bathroom must be quite new. There is a supermarket directly across the street. It is a (very easy to find) ten minute walk to the Metro station (Garbatella) and from there you are in the city of Rome after a few stops. Simona made our stay comfortable and also came to say goodbye to us.
Pros : very clean and comfortable appartment, large bathroom with a bathtub, washing machine, well located (underground nearby), Simona is very welcoming.
Cons : sofa bed, more a (practical) kitchenette than a kitchen.
Remarks : extra fees for check-in after 8pm or on Sundays and bank holidays.
