Great place to stay. Few other places will let you be right next to the water (and it's deep water), with an opportunity for a boat ride steps from your room. We had breakfast in the cabana, also right on the water. Cap'N Jim is a bird expert, and the creek is rich in wildlife. We'll be back.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay. Close proximity to Charleston, beautiful surroundings, and very hospitable hosts. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for couples and families.
What a beautiful respite! The outdoors at River's Edge were simply stunning-- how fantastic to relax under Jim's hospitality before and after days in Charleston.
I am not the kind of person who leaves reviews unless they are well earned and needless to say Jim and Nancy deserve my highest recommendations. Will absolutely visit again.
Terrific. Wonderful hosts. Beautiful place. Couldn't be any better.
This was our first airbnb experience, and I'm not sure I'll ever go back. We had an absolutely wonderful time at River's Edge and would recommend it to anyone staying in the Charleston area. The room was lovely and everything was very clean, comfortable, and cozy. We found just the right balance of privacy and time to socialize with Jim, Nancy, and the other guests. Jim and Nancy were very helpful in suggesting everything from the best beaches to the best restaurants all around Charleston - and all their suggestions were spot-on! I can't imagine getting the same local expertise from a hotel or travel advisor. In particular, we enjoyed their suggestions of Poe's and Red's on Sullivan's Island, as well as several restaurants in downtown Charleston. They even helped with finding the best parking! Amazingly, the pictures don't even do the property justice! We found our time relazing under the tiki hut just as enjoyable as strolling around Charleston; it was an incredibly leisurely vacation. Another factor you may be unaware of is that although this location is out of Charleston proper, it is a very centralized location and is only a 10 - 20 minute drive from anywhere you'd like to go - be it downtown Charleston, the beaches on the outskirts of the area, like Sullivan's Island, or a historic plantation. Whether you're new to airbnb or not, this is the place to stay in Charleston; I would recommend it to anyone, and I hope we will have the opportunity to return in the future!!
We loved staying at Jim and Nancy's beautiful riverside house. We spend the evening sitting and chatting on the pier like we we long lost friends. But the most memorable experience was sleeping outside on the porch that was connected to our room. It had been a dream of mine to sleep under the stars for a long time.
The room, house and garden were exactly as described. We highly recommend staying here!
Spectacular property, all the comforts of home, the best hosts - quiet if you want this to be your private hide-away, helpful, sharing and generously hospitable if you'd like to feel as if you'd found long-lost relatives from the part of the family you love spending time with. Close to the airport and a quick drive to Charleston. I was here on the business trip but I'll be coming back with my husband in tow!
Jim and Nancy are great host. We arrived MUCH later that we had planned and they were so kind and welcoming. Their home is roomy and comfortable. The bed was soooo comfortable and the linens are LUXURIOUS. After a light breakfast we headed to the hot tub to enjoy the awesome, relaxing, peaceful view. Wish we could have spent more time there but we were on a tight schedule. This was our first airbnb experience and we LOVED it! Would absolutely stay here again. Tommy & Mary
