Such an oasis of peace! The fresh air, the lovely gardens, the quiet, the beautiful, super clean, studio, the kind, welcoming hosts! I didn't want to leave.
What a beautiful place! My husband and I were in the area for a wedding in Pacific Palisades, and wanted to experience Topanga Canyon for the first time. Shore's is only a 10 minute drive from Santa Monica, and furnished with every comfort one could possibly need: an inviting and comfortable bed with soft and fluffy pillows, sheets and comforter, a lovely bathroom with plenty of thick and luxurious towels, good wifi and cable TV, closets and cabinets cleverly designed to hide away appliances, hangers, a fridge, dishes, cookware, etc., priceless peace, quiet, and fresh air, easy access to glorious hiking trails that offer canyon views down to the ocean...and so much more! Many thanks to Barbara and Elliot for an exceptional experience-
Staying at the Shore's Bed & Breakfast was a pleasant experience. The Topanga Canyon is really a hidden gem so close to LA. We enjoyed local hiking, dining and yoga. It all had a community feel to it.
Eliot was flexible with our arrival time. He communicated clearly and was all around very accommodating.
The accommodation is very comfortable. The house and community surrounding are spectacular. I had a great time here and I believe fellow travellers looking for something unique would too.
We were very late arriving and our hosts kindly and patiently waited for us.
Our room was large and welcoming and contained all essentials - thank you.
We were not aware that a Bed and Breakfast does not necessarily include breakfast. However, there was a kitchenette provided to prepare own food.
overall a good experience, but there are a few things to be aware of; the room is directly below the hosts' living space, so you do hear them walking around, faint snoring, talking (the sound, not the words), their dog barking, etc.
The house is located up a very twisty road, and driving in at night can be challenging if your night vision isn't the best. My cell phone had very spotty reception, and their internet strength was low, making connections slow.
The parking space allotted is a little tricky to back in to, if you aren't good at backing in. You are navigating into a space between the house and the hosts' car, so you have to be careful.
The bathtub is narrow and short, so if you like large tubs, this is a different experience.
The room felt a little chilly to me; the space heater was welcome. The first night, after I'd said I was cold, the hosts turned the heat in the house up (you share the heating system with their home), and it got quite warm in my space; I told Elliott it was too warm, and following nights were fine.
