Great location

A luxury 1 bedroom Quarryman's cottage which has been lovingly refurbished complete with Log Burner and Super King Size Bed. This cottage is situated in an ideal location to explore much of what Snowdonia has to offer.

The space
The cottage really is a comfortable place to stay, what with a log burner with as much firewood as you can burn and a huge Super King bed with Goose Down Quilts and Pillows, complete with Egyptian Cotton Bed Linen... This is great place to unwind in comfort or relax following a day on the mountains. I hope you enjoy this cosy cottage as much as I do.

I’ve attempted to retain as much character as possible whilst trying to embed as much modern comforts as possible. The cottage therefore benefits from an Integrated Dishwasher, a large Fridge Freezer, a large Power Shower and a modern but in keeping highly efficient Log Burning Stove backed up by a modern electric wet Central Heating System feeding radiators and producing a plentiful supply of hot water.

The kitchen further benefits from an electric Oven, Microwave and a two ring Halogen Hob (a 3 tier steamer is provided to make up for the 2 rings!).

The small (and steep!) terraced garden at the rear of the cottage has great views over the Machno valley) where there is a bistro table chair set, together with an additional set outside the front of the properly where you can sit and enjoy the views. Both areas are a real sun trap (Welsh weather dependent).

All linen and towels provided, as are as much logs as you can burn.

Whilst well behaved pets are most welcome guests should be warned that the garden is steep and not really suitable as an exercise space for dogs.

Where you’ll be

Cwm Penmachno, United Kingdom

Betws-y-Coed 8 miles.
The scattered, sleepy village of Cwm Penmachno is situated in the beautiful Machno Valley, just 6 miles from the popular town of Betws-y-Coed. Surrounded by dense woodland, magnificent mountains and flowing rivers, the whole area is a haven for walkers, birdwatchers, mountain bikers and climbers, whilst Betws-y-Coed itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and cafes. Here the River Conwy meets its three tributaries creating a host of cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges throughout the surrounding countryside, the most famous of which is the magnificent waterfall at Swallow Falls, situated where the River Llugwy meets with a spectacular chasm creating a sight not to be missed! With all of Snowdonia to explore and North Wales' Heritage Coastlines also within easy reach, this beautiful location is perfect for outdoor activities or a quiet “away from it all” holiday at any time of year!

Home is in the Cotswolds and work is in Hampshire. That combined with my holiday home in Wales means that I spend more time than I would like on the road. I purchased the cottage mid 2014 and have just completed the refurbishment after 12 long months. Being new to owning an old property it became clear that it would benefit from frequent rather than infrequent use, hence my decision to let it out to other guests who will hopefully enjoy the cottage as much as I do. I now can’t wait to start enjoying some of the outdoor activities that this great part of Wales has to offer.

Unfortunately home is some 180 miles away in the Cotswold's, but I have a local housekeeper and handyman therefore enabling me to open up the cottage to other guests to stay.
