The Space

In the historical center the nice apartment with private entrance, exclusive and private, on the way Tor de 'Conti, is located above the chapel of Mater Boni Consilii, overlooking the great wall of the Forum of Augustus. The chapel (email hidden) of Rome, in the district of iron Monti, Via Salita del Grillo.
So the Armellini describes this little church:
"It 'is the title of a devout chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary which is almost opposite to the arc de' Pantani at the foot of the ascent of Grillo. Was built on the principle of the century by the family Sturbinetti, whose houses at that time were crossed by a very narrow alley and uncertain, especially at night. The family received that the alley was closed and reduced to the above devout chapel of the Virgin. "
The apartment is located in a strategic position, as you go out on the right there is the entrance to the House of the Knights of Rhodes, in the Piazza del Grillo, with its medieval tower. From here begins the Ascent of Cricket that leads to the tower of the Militia, the entrance to Trajan's Forum, Piazza del Quirinale.
Via Tor de 'Conti is the pedestrian zone, just a few minutes' walk leads to the Via dei Fori Imperiali, the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, Campidoglio, Trevi Fountain. A short distance away is the metro station Termini and within walking distance of the metro station Cavour, the Colosseum, the Vatican is reached with no more than 5 metro stops. In the immediate vicinity are via Cavour, Via dei Serpenti, Via Nazionale , Via del Corso , full of shops and restaurants.
The apartment is a real treat with a large double bed (king size), built in wardrobes, fireplace, air conditioning, tv, wifi internet, a kitchenette with a fridge, coffee maker, electric stove, microwave. The bathroom is spacious with towels, soap and phone. In the immediate vicinity you will find the laundry room.
The apartment is special ..... very comfortable and will make your holiday unforgettable :)

  • The room and surroundings are exactly as pictured, and all the amenities were accurate. I loved living in Francesca's apartment! It was very quaint, and the air conditioning was wonderful to have in hot, humid Rome in July. Perfect size for 2 people. It was close to the Colosseum and close to any major bus or metro lines to other Rome sites. Although I would once in a while hear people on the street, it never got very loud, and I was able to fall asleep and stay asleep without trouble.

Francesca herself was very nice and accommodating. She showed us around the apartment and made suggestions for restaurants. There was even a table full of maps and Rome guide books so we didn't have to purchase our own!

I would definitely stay in this apartment again if I returned to Rome.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Francesca's lovely apartment in Rome. The place was perfectly situated within walking distance of some of the most interesting historic sites. There were an abundance of small restaurants in the area, that provided a variety of excellent meals. The apartment is self is as described in Francesca's description- charming, clean and very inviting. We particularly enjoyed the bottle of wine which Francesca had ready for us on arrival.

Francesca is a delight and has thought of everything to make your stay in Rome relaxed and very comfortable. • We spent 5 nights at Francesca's in May 2014.Positives: great location, good bed, clean, AC, adequate cooking facilities, friendly and reliable host, good dining recommendations. Negatives: there are three steps from bedroom down to bathroom that could be hazardous in the night- suggest a night light, bedding needs to be refurbished- bottom sheet came off mattress every night, no duvet cover, needs more shelves in the kitchenette area, the window in the bedroom is at foot level and faces the street that taxis seem use as a shortcut. The street is cobbled so there is an almost continuous traffic rumble. This can be masked by using the AC.
That being said we would stay there again.

    Response from Francesca:

Ciao Ron, I am so sorry to know that you spent the nights disastrous, the duvet is always clean but you're right, maybe this is not understood and no appreciated, the light near the stairs is a great suggestion, the cobblestones make noise because the floor is a very ancient characteristic of the place, the window is on the street because it is located above the chapel of "Good Counsel", the apartment, in ancient times, it was the residence of the priest. But you Did not find unique that seen with the front wall of Augustus and the Fori Imperiali all lit up? I think it'(email hidden) in the world. I'm so sorry for these inconveniences I would have preferred that these was made on private writing, it is bad publicity for me, I will treasure your suggestions and I hope to meet you again.
