I'll share apartment with you!
It's a 1 bedroom apartment with a large living room. I have a large comfortable couch in and L shape with a large ottoman (purchased for it's sleepabilty ;) ). I also have a full sized air mattress that fits comfortably in the living room.
I live about 4-5 blocks from the National Mall and about 8 Blocks from the White House. So most of the major attraction that people want to see are within walking distance. If you prefer Metro, we're about 3 blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro station that can take you pretty much anywhere you want to go.
There are several markets near by including Whole Food, Trader Joe's and a small market in the apartment complex. As well as 2 CVS Pharmacy stores.
The apartment is occupied by my toothless cat named Candy. Depending on when you come, I may or may not be staying there as well.
Laundry (across the hall)
Aaron is really nice! The flat is perfectly located you dońt need to take the tube to visit the mosy popular place of DC! Perfect flat if you stay in DC only for 2/3 days as it is not a real bed (only a air mattress)
I had a great stay. Aaron is friendly and super helpful. Air mattress was comfortable. His cat is darling. My favorite part of the stay was reading on the couch with a warm cup of tea while it was raining non-stop - I certainly don't get this comforting feeling in a hotel room.
Aaron and his place are great. Aaron is kind, open, and interesting. His apartment is central, cozy and Candy, the cat, is super loving. All communication getting into his apartment was easy and seamless. One commenter complained that the air mattress lost air during the night, but we had no problems and slept great. One thing - if you are obsessive about cleanliness, then you're better off in a hotel. But if you want a very central location, a place you immediately feel at home in, and a really lovely chat with a nice guy, then this place is perfect.
Aaron was a friendly and helpful host. The location of his place is perfect and is nearby the main spots. Nevertheless we didn't stay for the whole time that we'd actually planned, cause we didn't felt very well at his place and it was kind of dirty...
Very dirty place. Bed sheets were not clean. Bathroom, kitchen was extremely dirty. House had a very strong spicy food smell and smelled throughout the night. Pans and plates were left dirty in the open kitchen. Cat's litter was full with shit, it was left just near our bed. What can I say more??? Aaron was nice and kind but that was all!
Aaron was a very nice host, very welcoming. Great location, super safe neighboorhood
this only problem is that I had an air mattress that was very uncomfortable, and that deflated during the night....
I think It's a little expensive for an air mattress....
The apartment was very well located. Aaron was a nice host. He was here to welcome my friend and I, and took us to a food court after our long trip to DC.
The bad point was the cleanliness of the apartment. We were disappointed in comparison with the pictures we saw.
Aaron is an excellent host - very personable and accommodating. The air mattress in the living room was quite comfortable and I slept soundly (during what time I had for sleep as my schedule was pretty stacked). He provided a DC attractions map, directions, and other helpful hints. The location is superb - just a few blocks from the Mall, next to GWU - right in the middle of everything. The view overlooking the Watergate from the balcony is lovely. I'd gladly stay with Aaron again.
I went for a short trip to Washington DC, and I really enjoyed staying at Aaron's place. He didn't hesitate to give me directions to the local stores, and he even walked with me to my destination to show me where it was, which saved me a lot of time and hassle. It was a peaceful and quiet place. I really recommend it!
Aaron was extremely hospitable, really enjoyed the stay.
