Our Family had a wonderful stay and overall experience at the Flamig Farm Staycation! Julie and Nevin were extremely responsive and welcoming. The unit was comfortable, warm, cozy and well stocked. The location is great. Remote yet close to all amenities. Having the opportunity to visit with the farm animals was a bonus!! Julie stocked us with fresh farm eggs upon arrival that were fabulous! Julie and Nevin are wonderful hosts and we look forward to the opportunity to visit again!
Julie was waiting for me on arrival and was very hospitable. She had fresh eggs in our kitchen and she had already lit the pellet stove so we were warm as soon as we walked in! She was very easy to access by text and she constantly made sure that we were comfortable, even lighting an additional wood stove for us on one of the extremely cold nights. She let us roam the farm and provided us with day old donuts to feed all of the animals! The whole experience was very genuine and such a relaxing stay. We went sledding with sleds Julie provided us and she even gave us additional clothing! I could not have asked for a better host. She also provided great suggestions for food in the area - delicious restaurants! Such a perfect Valentine's weekend stay. I think we will definitely be back.
Our family absolutely loved our stay! The home itself was very cozy and had everything we needed for a family of 4 with two very young kids (infant 2 mths and toddler 2 yrs). The farm was wonderful and an event / experience on its own. Lots of animals to interact with. The hosts were incredibly kind with lots of great recommendations for things to do, even in winter. We will be coming back every season for sure!
I stayed at Flamig Farm with my boyfriend and another couple and we had such a wonderful time! Even though the weather was cold, the staycation was warm and cozy and even roomier than the pictures show. The beds, the living room, the kitchen--everything was perfect. Farmer Julie and Nevin and all the staff on the farm are incredibly welcoming and kind, as well as helpful with anything we needed. Even when we arrived later than scheduled, Julie was patient and walked us through everything over the phone. The farm itself is amazing and we had a great time feeding and playing with all the animals. We can't wait to come back soon!
We really enjoyed are staycation at Flamig Farm. Julie and Nevin were very accommodating and the apartment was delightful. We look forward to visiting again.
Really great living space - obvious that it has been thought through and owners care deeply about your experience. Location blends country experience with access to suburban restaurants and activities. We would definitely stay again.
Hi I'm Farmer Julie! I run a magical farm in West Simsbury, Connecticut called Flamig Farm. It is the home of the BIG backwards EGGS sign. The farm has a large Petting Zoo filled with llamas, alpacas, sheep, goats, horses, ponies, emus, pigs, ducks and around 500 chickens! Egg gathering is done daily if you would like to participate we love the help!
My husband Nevin and I are big believers in the law of attraction and positive thinking. We pride ourselves in living harmoniously with the environment and educating the public on alternative energy. We have a 11.4 kilowatt photovoltaic solar system on our chicken coop which provides the farm's electric. Farmer Nevin runs all his farm equipment he uses out in the mulch and compost piles on BIODIESEL.
Farmer Julie loves eventing horses and jogging on the beautiful trails across the street from the farm.
