  • I stayed here with my husband and our 16 month old son & we had a great time! The apartment was very clean and cozy & we loved the fresh eggs! My son enjoyed checking out all the animals and using the toys that are in the apartment. A couple mornings the chickens woke us up a bit early but that's to be expected on a farm!

  • We loved it! It was even cozier and more spacious than the pictures showed. And the animals were great, they had so many different kinds and it was very accessible to walk around and look at them. Julie was very good about communication and responding to questions/arrangements. She also left us a basket of fresh eggs for breakfast! Kitchen was fully stocked with the basics for cooking your own meals if you wish. My boyfriend and I, my mom, and my brother all stayed there very comfortably, and we all loved it. Highly recommend it!

  • Staying with Julie at Flamig Farm was the perfect break between our stays in New York and Boston - off the beaten track near Simsbury, with vineyards, farm shops and country walks all nearby in every direction. The accommodation itself was fantastic, incredibly homely, and Julie made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived - there was also an awesome open range that we cooked steaks on one night, as well as a seemingly unlimited supply of the famous (and delicious) Flamig Farm eggs.

All in all, we had a great time with Julie and would genuinely recommend her for anyone looking for a quiet country vacation in Connecticut. Thanks again!

  • The house couldn't have possibly been more charming. Julie and Neven were very kind and helpful. Had an absolutely wonderful weekend. Kids love the variety of animals.
Beds were comfortable, house was clean and well maintained. It was fun running the wood burning stove, sorry I melted your fire starter, hope $5 covered buying a new one.
We will defiantly be back. Thank you for your hospitality and gracious kindness.

  • We stayed the weekend at Julie's apartment on the farm. It was cozy, well decorated, and a really lovely spot for my family of 3. We got to explore the farm and even feed the animals. Julie is extremely accommodating and her communication is great. We would definitely go back.

  • We stayed here with another couple over the New Year holiday. It was so charming that I'm tempted to keep it a secret so we can have it all to ourselves. ;)

This is the perfect weekend getaway from the city. It took us just 2.5 hours from NYC. You can cozy up by the fire the whole time, or you can explore a bit. We fed the animals daily and took short hikes around the area. We loved it so much, we are already planning our next trip!

Julie and Nevin are wonderful hosts. They live down the street, so they're very accommodating if you need help with anything.
My favorite part was meeting all the animals. But don't worry--they are not loud, and the farmhouse does NOT smell like a farm! :)

The place is incredibly clean and decorated beautifully. It was cozy, and we had plenty of room to cook, dine at the table, and relax in the living room by the wood burning stove. The stove does a good job of heating the whole place. The kitchen is stocked with fresh farm eggs, milk, English muffins, and coffee. There are great restaurants just a few miles away if you want to go out for meals. Julie can point you in the right direction and give recommendations. And if you have kids, they have plenty of toys around.

I hope you enjoy the farmhouse getaway as much as we did!

  • Fun accommodations and a wonderful host! Julie welcomed us to the farm, showed us the ropes in the "staycation," and even stocked the refrigerator with fresh Flamig Farm eggs and other goodies for breakfast! Very thoughtful. The unit is clean and very well-equipped. Ideal family spot! Highly recommended.

  • Flamig Farm was perfect for our time in my hometown. Great location, beautiful surroundings, and such comfortable accommodations. Julie and the farm staff were such good hosts, and you just can't beat having eggs for breakfast straight out of the nest. Wish we could have stayed longer. We'll be back for sure!!

  • We had a wonderful time. Really enjoyed checking out the farm and the upstairs of the farmhouse was adorable and comfy. They found local babysitters for us so we could enjoy the school reunion that brought us to town. Our 2 1/2 yr old had a blast and there were plenty of toys so we didn't need to bring any. Julie was a wonderful host and we would definitely stay there again. Just lovely!

  • Great visit, great apartment. The farm was a fun atmosphere as well, great for kids. The apartment was exactly as it looked in the pictures, Julie was kind enough to stock the fridge for our visit.
