Really good instructions on how to get there and a lovely central location. Clean apartment with helpful notes around, we were very comfortable during the stay. Easy to contact host
It is a small apartment but the bathroom is bigger than most I have seen in Japan. The washing machine was a delight!
Hosts were very helpful with all our questions and left helpful notes all over the house!
What a fantastic little apartment! Whilst small, it is a perfect apartment for a quick trip and situated in a very good location. Close to public transport, shrines, temples, shops, food.. You name it, it's within walking distance.
The apartment itself is cosy, very neat and has many of the basic amenities one would need for a short stay. It's equipped for simple meals and laundry which is great if you want a break from Japanese food. I can also confirm that the futons are very comfortable and they have real pillows!! (As opposed to the bean-bag pillows my party experienced elsewhere in traditional lodgings)
The neighbourhood is very safe, as is all of Japan, in the center of the city and surrounded by excellent transport links. The neighbours are quiet and polite.
Jackie and Dia are lovely, and provide comprehensive instructions which make living in the apartment much easier.
I had no trouble accessing the wi-fi, and believe that the 5 minute walk to Starbucks (where free wi-fi is available, should the apartment wi-fi be inaccessible) is a good emergency option.
Jackie and Dia were very welcoming and helpful, allowing us to put our bags in the room prior to check in. They responded every time we had a question and provided clear instructions to find the apartment. We took a cab by showing the driver the address that Jackie & Dia had emailed us in Japanese. The apartment had a homely feel to it and was bigger than I imagined. It was very clean and had all the amenities listed. I loved the area, so close to shops, restaurants, stations and temples. Very safe, quaint and traditional.
our stay in jackie and dia's apartment was very nice. we never meet them but we find no difficulties in accessing the room & facilities. there was a confusion over the wifi internet connection but it was solved quickly through a phone call. the place is conveniently located & surrounded by nice spots. it was a very nice experience.
Nice apartment with easy access to many great places for food and shopping! No need bicycle. Everything is just within walking distance :)
Very clean apartment with separate toilet and bathroom which is a good idea. Apartment is just nice for 2 adults except the hot flask is stained so we didn't get to use it to boil water for drinks.
Overall experience at Kyoto was fantastic! Thanks J&D for giving us the privacy.
The location is excellent, close to train station (Sanjo) and the center of Kyoto (Gion, Sijo). I can walk to most of the sites and there are many restaurants nearby.
It is a great choice but bear in mind that it is a Japanese style sleeping arrangement, (futon/mattress on floor) therefore you would have to take care of putting away the mattress/futon every morning.
