Myself and my husband John are very accommodating. We have welcomed and hosted students into our home of all nationalities and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We have 2 teenage daughters who speak fluent gaelic (native Irish language) and also have a great interest in German language. My husband is a landscape gardener and I am a mature student and part-time tutor who loves to cook and look after people :) We're a happy go lucky family.
If you are looking for a truly enjoyable warm Irish welcome, well allow us to be your hosts. We look forward to making your stay here as comfortable and an enjoyable experience. Can accommodate 1 or 2 persons. Price includes 1 person and breakfast is included. Smoking is allowed outside in the back garden. We look forward to looking after you and please have a look at our reviews, we are only doing Airbnb around 2 and a half years we have thoroughly enjoyed our time hosting.

the neighbourhood is residential.
There is public transport just around the corner.
Other Things to Note
There is some tourist information on the bed side locker and some maps :))))))
The rules as follows; you tell us if you have enjoyed your experience with us or tell us what we could have done better, no smoking in the house but you can smoke outside in the back garden where ashtrays are provided. Showers are after 8am in the morning, and not after 10pm at night, please do not spend more than 5 minutes in the shower. Please remember it is a home you are staying in (I can not stress this enough) not an industrial hotel. Breakfast is served after 8am. If you need breakfast earlier please speak with me about this. Absolutely no eating or drinking (alcohol) in the room you have booked to stay in.
Staying with Aisling and John was a terrific introduction to my trip to Ireland, and encapsulated the heart of the Irish people - warm, hospitable, laid back and generous. Conveniently located in between the airport and the city (easily accessible on the bus route), all the facilities you needed for a great stay were provided. Aisling's incredible breakfast offering powered you for a good day's worth of exploration through the streets of Dublin. I'll call again when I next visit!
Very clean and comfortable room in a nice house located in a residential area of Dublin. A bus stop (27) is within 5 minutes of walk which takes you directly to the centre of Dublin. To the airport it is complicated and takes a long time with public transport, better take a taxi instead as the house is actually quite near to the airport (but you never hear any plane).
Aisling cooked me delicious Irish breakfast in the morning and her family helped me out with their USB chargers as mine didn't work, even with the adapter she provides. I can really recommend staying at her lovely home!
- Clean, warm, silent room with a comfortable bed
- A bellyful breakfast to kick-off the day
- Direct bus to the city center
The not so good:
- On Sunday there is only one bus every half an hour - if you are unlucky it can take you almost 1 hour to get in the center (or to come back in the evening) including the waiting times. On other days it is less of an issue, though, as the bus comes every 15 minutes.
- I was offered a pickup from Dublin Airport. When it turned out that there might be a possible 45-minute delay to my flight I received an SMS that I should take a taxi instead.
- I found it a bit unwelcoming to receive an other SMS stating that breakfast will be served at 10am in the morning the following day, even before we met or before I had the chance to let Aisling know my plans for the next day. To be fair, following my kind request she prepared the breakfast earlier.
All in all, a good value for the money for having a bed and breakfast not so far away from the center.
Dear Akos, just to clarify in plane English...... there is nothing I can do about public transport, on my profile I state the distance of public transport to the city centre, if you have a complaint about that please contact Dublin Bus. Yes I did offer you a lift when you booked for your arrival, but when you informed me only after I text you on airbnb only then did you let me know you would be late, I would have been left standing in Dublin airport with no notion of what time your arrival was at, you would not have been charged for the pick up, I had a very busy schedule that day and if I had waited around for your plane to arrive it would have messed up my day and I did give you directions on where and how to get public transport to my home. Regarding you feeling it was a bit "unwelcoming" about receiving an SMS about breakfast it was a the only way I could communicate with you and I feel you saying it was "unwelcoming" is very unfair. If I didn't ask or text you then how would I know when to have breakfast ready? This is airbnb Akos, you are staying with families who open their homes to travellers at little cost, its not a hotel. I think you need to communicate more openly with people in a manner where people feel they can communicate back with you. And just for the record it was not a kind request to prepare breakfast earlier it was a request........
It was my first time and Aisling and John made it an easy and wonderfull experience. Thank you so much for a lovely room, delicious breakfast and warm hospitality! All the best and thank you both!
Vielen Dank Ecuh beiden - es war schön bei Euch!
Alles Liebe Karla
This place was awesome. Aisling and her husband John made me feel so welcome and comfortable. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. I was a little worried when my taxi driver told me I was pretty far outside the city, but it was a short bus ride in and out, very simple! I would recommend sticking in lots of loose change- also, Ireland uses the same converter as the UK (many people in my group didn't realize that!). Also- the breakfast was so, so wonderful! And on the days I left early, she packed me a lunch! Thank you for a great stay, when Im back in Ireland (hopefully soon) I will look them up again!
