As soon as I received the first message from Yan prior to requesting a booking, I knew that we were in good hands. He was incredibly flexible with our arrival time and offered suggestions for wineries and restaurants in his vicinity that we could visit before our arrival.
Upon arriving, he had snacks and beverages available for us and welcomed us to relax in his beautiful backyard to chat and get to know each other. He presented us with a hand-drawn map with suggested wineries and restaurants within the area and gave a great recommendation for dinner that evening.
The guest room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and the private bathroom right down the hall was very clean and well-prepared for our arrival.
In the morning Yan presented us with a beautiful and delicious homemade breakfast featuring fresh figs from his large fig tree. He gave us more suggestions and tips for the rest of our trip in the Kenwood area and along our way back to San Francisco.
I would definitely recommend Yan's place for a quaint, relaxing and quiet stay. His passion for food, wine, and travel were inspiring as was his joy in sharing his beautiful home with guests. Yan definitely exceeded our expectations and we hope to come back and visit!
This was our first time using Airbnb, and we could not be happier, specifically because Yan was a fantastic host. We were blown away with Yan’s hospitality. He greeted us warmly with wine and refreshments and great conversation. He provided a map of Kenwood area wineries and eateries and spent some time with us getting to know us so he could make recommendations based on our tastes. The room was great, the bed was comfortable, and the backyard is an absolute oasis. We only spent one night in Kenwood, but our experience was so great that we wish we had spent more time there. Yan made breakfast before we left, which was delicious. Yan even provided some great recommendations for our trip to San Francisco the next day. Overall we were more than pleased with our stay and we’re very thankful to have met Yan. I didn’t see Yan’s status as a ‘superhost’ before I booked, but I completely agree with that designation and title.
My husband and I stayed with Yan for our wedding anniversary. We selected his home based on its prime location. It is perfectly located in Kenwood, walking distance from many wineries and tasting rooms tucked off Hwy 12 in a residential neighborhood. The house is clean and comfortable with a guest bedroom that has all the perks of a nice hotel (ironing board, multiple chargers, extremely comfortable bed). Our favorite part of the house was the backyard. It is just about as large as the house itself. The photos do not come close to doing it justice. There are multiple places to sit and recline, each with their own vantage point. We lounged in the hammock and enjoyed passing time relaxing outdoors after long days of exploring. Yan even welcomed us to pick fruit off the prominent fig tree.
Yan's hospitality is second to none. We arrived late on Thursday night and he had set out a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. The next morning we woke up to a sausage frittata and poached apples. When Yan left for the weekend, he provided us with a quiche and a cheese and sausage platter. He was able to provide amazing recommendations for restaurants, wineries, and hikes. We felt welcomed and pampered during our stay with Yan and look forward to returning.
My boyfriend and I spend one night in Yan's place during our trip to Napa/Sonoma valey. The place is very close to Glen Ellen and Sonoma town. The room is nicely decorated and very clean. And the backyard is absolute gorgeous. We wish we could spend more time relaxing there.
Yan is a very welcoming host and great cook. He prepared a neighborhood map when we arrived and welcomed us with local wine and snacks. And he surprised us with a very delicious and good-looking breakfast.
We will surely come back and stay for a longer time next time.
This was our second AIRBNB experience and so far so great! Yan's home is very clean and well appointed. We enjoyed relaxing in the back garden on the comfortable outdoor furniture. We sat under the shade of the fig tree and devoured the delicious wine and snacks provided. Yan was away during our stay but left us homemade banana bread and coffee for breakfast. The home is located in a very convenient yet peaceful neighborhood. There is wine tasting and restaurants just a few blocks away. The only problem with our stay is it was too short.
Yan was such a gracious host. He had customized a map and highlighted all his recommendations for us so we could start exploring. He greeted us with some wine and cheese too, which is always a plus! Another added bonus was that Yan cooked us breakfast every morning we were there and it was DELICIOUS (I probably gained some lbs thanks to his cooking but it's all worth it). If you have never been to Sonoma/Napa before and need some guidance, Yan is the person to go to.
My wife and I recently spent of couple of days with Yan and our experience was absolutely wonderful. The property itself was great, with all that anyone would expect from a typical high-end B&B. Yan was an exceptional host with great knowledge of the local area. His recommendations for where to go and what to see were spot on.
Unlike most of the Airbnb properties we have visited, Yan's hospitality was perfect. From wine and snacks upon our arrival to two superb, locally-sourced breakfasts, we were truly made to feel at home.
We will most certainly be visiting Yan again in the future and would enthusiastically recommend him to anyone planning a trip to Sonoma.
