Highly recommend Craig’s property when visiting New Orleans! This is a large historic home, beautifully decorated, immaculate, and very well appointed. It is fenced and gated, in a lovely neighborhood. The pictures are accurate but still don't do it justice, looks larger and gorgeous in person. Craig is a gracious host, quickly responds to texts, and looked to make our stay comfortable and stress-free.
There is a master suite with bath also accessible from hall, and 2 large bedrooms with a jack&jill bath on the main floor. Craig has thought of everything, from providing water and glasses bedside, to robes & slippers and a basket of items you may have forgotten available in the bathrooms. There is a large comfortable front porch with table & chairs.
The gourmet kitchen is stocked with every pan, utensil, & dish you need to prepare & serve your own meals, or mix your own drinks. There is both a dining table in the large kitchen and a large dining room table in the dining room. And, there is a living room, sitting room, and library on the main floor, so plenty of room!
The lower level includes a bedroom and 2 additional beds in more open areas, 2 full baths, another living room and a laundry room. This floor walks out to the beautiful pool area. We enjoyed the pool at various times during our stay, including having dinner at one of the 2 dining tables on the deck. We grilled out one night, great family evening relaxing in the quiet, private outdoor area. The gated driveway allowed for 2 vehicles, and there was parking on the street for our 3rd car.
This house is close to everything. We walked to Freret St. for a couple of meals, found Tuesday night Trivia at Dat Dog (has vegetarian options), and a visit to Cure for cocktails. Getting to the French Quarter, Magazine St., NOLA Brewing, and Canal St for shopping were all fairly quick and easy. Airport was about 20 minutes during normal/light traffic, around 35-40 minutes if driving one direction during rush hour, which was coming from the airport in the morning, driving out to the airport in the late afternoon/evening.
Some of our group has a wedding to attend in New Orleans later this year, and they have already decided they will look to book Craig’s house for this visit.
