  • A very nice stay - the place is very nice and Bathsheba is a great host - she explained how to navigate Chicago, showed the green roof and its history and future, and it was nice to look out onto the green roof.

The location is very easy for free parking and convenient to interstate, not so much to transit, but a station is not too far away, just requires some planning to get to the CTA rail Blue Line.

Whole Foods on first floor is a definite plus, for good food options any meal, or to pack a picnic.

I found it a very restful, positive experience!

  • Just the comfy, peaceful and clean little escape I needed. A very high ceiling bedroom with no shared walls on it's own side of the apartment, nice view of greenery, and very welcoming hostess. Thanks Bathsheba.

  • Bathsheba is absolutely wonderful! First of all, her apartment is gorgeous. It's zen-themed with a rooftop garden (hammock and chairs outside to enjoy the sunsets), beautiful bathroom, and awesome kitchen/living room. Second of all, the location is perfect. We had to go downtown frequently for our meetings and it was very convenient to drive to the city center. Also, the apartment is located right above Whole Foods, so we never had to worry about what we were going to eat! But most of all, Bathsheba was just incredibly helpful as a host. She was always there to answer our many question and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. She is very knowledgeable about the city, especially on the different neighborhoods and things to do. She's very resourceful and reachable, which we really appreciated! She also really cared about who we were as people and we loved talking to her about our days or what was going on in our lives. Bathsheba always has great stories to tell or interesting insights that she's learned throughout her life. Our month with Bathsheba passed extremely quickly, and we're so glad we got to spend it with her!

  • Bathsheba was SO accommodating, she took good care of me and went beyond just supplying a room for the night by assisting me with all my travel and tourist plans. I would thoroughly recommend anyone looking for somewhere to stay in her area to stay there and will absolutely be staying there again myself if I'm ever around...

  • The place is great, very clean and quite! I enjoy it a lot! Thanks, Bathsheba!

  • My husband and I really enjoyed staying at Bathsheba's. Her place was spotless and she was a very thoughtful host. It doesn't hurt that there's a Whole Foods store on the ground floor of her building -- a good place for muffins and coffee. The rooftop garden is a pleasure.

  • Bathsheba's place is so sweet, I would definitely stay with her again! Convenience, congeniality, combined with beauty; I mean the location is excellent; no problem with free, safe, street parking, and overall, aesthetically, way above average. Bathsheba is probably the neatest, most organized person I've ever met, and she has a kind, mellow demeanor too. Her place is absolutely pristine, and comfortable at the same time. She was helpful, (way beyond the call of duty), friendly, welcoming; accomodating my awkward arrival with grace and poise. Staying above Whole Foods was an added bonus, and made eating so much easier, esp. since I'm vegan. Bathsheba offered me extensive information about local vegan fare, and had I asked, I'm sure she would have been equally generous about any aspect of the city for visitors. I was there, expressly, visiting my son for Parent's weekend at Northwestern, and I had very little free time to explore. So, I will look forward to my next visit to Chicago, and remember fondly my first stay with AirBnB, in a vibrant, beautiful, interesting city, and gorgeous condo in a nice neighborhood. Also, I can't help but think, since I felt so warmly received, that, I hope I've found a new friend! I plan next time I'm in town, to try to get in on one of your "Nerds at Heart" game nights, 'cause I'm one, for sure! Haha! Thank you so much, Bathsheba!

  • I had a great first AirBNB experience. Bathsheba is friendly, smart, and considerate. A nice clean, minimal condo, close to 94, so it's easy to get to where you're headed. Also, right above a Whole Foods, so you don't have to eat out. A great place to stay.

  • The rooftop accommodations were the perfect zen retreat after a hectic week between Boston, Grand Rapids, Mi., and a lightning zip through Chicago. The guest room is large, the bed and linens comfortable and the shared quarters soothing. A special bonus is the Whole Foods grocery on the main floor of the building. It was especially handy for a quick nutritious meal and provisions before heading off to O'Hare and home to Portland OR.
It isn't as close as many tourists might like to the downtown scene, but getting in and out is fairly easy by car and the park and ride for public transit isn't far. For returning visitors, business travelers and proximity to the airport, the location is ideal! I recommend this value proposition highly!

  • This was my first Air B & B experience, and I'm sold! Bathsheba was the perfect host. Her style is minimal and clean, and my room was very comfortable, down to the organic bedding, desk with a pull-out tray for working at the computer, and view of the rooftop garden and sunsets--not to speak of large, empty closets with a ton of hangers. The location is not for tourists, but for those with other interests, such as business or family. For me it was ideal because it was an easy drive to the northern suburbs, the Loop, and the airport. Parking is a snap--I used street parking and found the same nearby spot every day. Oh, and there cannot be too much said about the convenience of living above Whole Foods! I highly recommend Bathsheba and would look forward to staying with her again.
